Are you serious? Sure, it might seem like a "noble" thing to do, but look around. Most titles change hands by a No Show Win. For God's sake, look at our World Champion. He made a career off of beating no-showers and hell, one of his title wins comes from a no-show at the biggest show of the year.

Sly just possibly robbed himself of a title reign for no reason. Considering he didn't announce it till the day before yesterday, I believe, Sly either wasn't writing at all or stopped writing his match midway. Now someone tell me what is the point of writing a match and not sending it in because the other guy is no showing?

I swear to god, if you throw the octopus into the contendership for the International title, I will write for it. That and I would maybe write for Stryke.

And I agree with Spike, just not as hostile. Winning a title is just half the job, defending it would be the other half. I'd say it's just as noble to win the title off a no show and then defend it on shows and PPV's and stuff.

But seriously, give the Octopus a shot.

I'm with Wildchild on this. Spike's right that most titles change hands by noshow, but most of the time people don't know it's going to be by noshow. And then when they find out, they're all "Aw man, that sucks," because it's so much better to legitimately win it.

Sly found out ahead of time, and instead of just giving it to himself, opted to hold out so a proper match could be had.

That's class.

That's definitly class - like Chris said, it's all about knowing about it before hand.

That being said - Crimson Skull for International champion!

I want to see An Octopus and Another Octopus tagging, then doing the 'bait and switch' so the illegal invertebrate gets the pin. Like the Bashams, only actually related.

And with more tentacles.

I can't tell whether I'm meant to take Spike's promo seriously or not.

Congrats to the n00b - not exactly a normal SWF match, but hey, it's something. Best of luck with continuing to develop. Most important point I'd say to work on for now is giving the commentators actual dialogue. If you need to see how they speak read a few other matches on the show.

Congrats to Drea and WC.

I'm guessing the end of the Grendel vs MatFlesh match was just a little to do with some sort of angle. The match itself was great, not only an example of masterful, dickish heeling but some priceless commentary as well.

One thing I'd like some feedback on is my opening promo. This is the first time I've had Toxx really cut loose on someone since he came back rather than trying to repress his angry side. However, most of my promo-writing experience with him is as an egotistical, arsehole of a heel. Does the promo work as a face (albeit quite a piss-taking face, say like Jericho) or is it too heelish?

Sorry guys, I do my own booking and it's written a bit differently than the one here so it was hard to write outside the normal writing habit I grew myself into. Crip gave me some advice but I was pressed on time so I could only partially modify my match to the SWF standards. Next time will hopefully be better.

Hey man, don't feel like you have to change; just perfect what it is you do, and don't concern yourself with fitting a mold. We've had guys here who write script style... hell, we've had a guy write his matches in the first person.

The best advice that I ever received after getting bumped from the JL is to stick with what makes you you; too many people try to change their style to fit other writers, or how they think they are expected to write, and they fail miserably. If your match on Lockdown is indicative on how you prefer to write, then focus on refining that, rather than homogenizing your style. Just try not to get discouraged if you come across a few tough losses; believe me, it happens to everybody.

And welcome; we can always use some fresh meat around here.
