Excellent Randy Orton Interview

Can't stand the guy but I've got to admit this is a great interview. Honestly, I'm totally shocked he's allowed to speak so candidly about some of this stuff. Maybe he just figures it's some England radio interview, so the WWE would never hear it.

http://exodus.interoutemediaservices.com/d...WrestleCast.mp3

It's a bit of a long interview so here's a recap if you don't want to listen..

- Was sent to anger management by the WWE because he wasn't handling himself professionally.

- He says he was always very respectful to his peers in the lockerroom, but he says his problem came when he was outside of the lockerroom and says that getting so much so fast led to him growing a huge ego. Going to anger management made him realize he's just a 26-year-old punk kid.

- Thinks Harry Smith has a very bright future in the business.

- Says Shawn Michaels is balding and Triple H is fat.

- The host brings up how Lex Luger bashed the WWE, Cena, Orton and Mysterio on his Myspace page - Orton replies "Lex Luger is the shits, the shits"

- Said he's glad he didn't get stuck with a gimmick such as being a pirate or a crossdresser. Orton says those gimmicks can work for a short time, but you can't get past the lower midcarder with a gimmick like that, and to be a big star in the business you need to be yourself.

- Orton says the Spirit Squad gimmick is stupid, and that when it takes all five of them to beat up one guy, it makes the crowd look at them as being weak. Said the company needs to give the guys some identity and prove to the audience that they can handle themselves one-on-one without the backup of the other four. Thinks Ken Doane is the most talented of the group.

- Says The Undertaker is the best wrestler in the world. 'Taker taught him a lot during their almost year long feud, and that in traveling all over the world with him, he's never heard crowds react for someone as loud as they have for Taker.

- Rey Mysterio is one of his best friends and he thinks Smackdown dropped the ball with him. Instead of having him lose all the time, he says they should have had him in matches where for example, Great Khali beats on him all match, but at the end Mysterio just barely finds some way to pull out the victory.

- Orton says Smackdown as a whole is really thin right now. He said he's good friends with Mark Henry, but he's main eventing every week now and the crowd just doesn't buy it because he went from being a lifelong mid-carder to a main eventer so quickly.

- Orton wonders whether Smackdown will even stay on the air if ECW turns into a huge success. Talking about ECW, Orton says - "You can't take ECW and promote it as this hardcore, hard hitting, 'TNA' type of show, and then put a bunch of WWE guys on there"

- Orton: "RAW is always going to be Vince's baby because.." Host: "..they've got Hunter?" Orton: "Well, yeah"

- On the crowd turning on Cena: "At ECW they chanted same old shit, same old shit and well.. Cena pretty much does the same old shit."

- Orton wants to work with Batista, HHH, John Cena and Hulk Hogan.

Good to hear that from him.

And this interview is quite good thus far... really surprising to hear what he said about HBK and HHH...

Figures he'd put over Doane.

He didn't really put over Doane... he did call him a skinny little guy that may not be a big star. But, said he's the most talented of the Squad.

I don't necessarily agree.

Glad he said all this stuff, but that's not a smart move. He put Taker over, but it is just a radio interview. Same thing applies to pretty much everything he said.

Considering the matches he had with Taker, I can see why he holds him in such high regard.

Even if he was joking about the HHH stuff... I wouldn't be going there. Even if this is an interview he thinks WWE won't care about or know of.

HHH can probably taking the ribbing as he and Orton are likely still close but HBK will be all emo for a week because someone told him the truth.

If they hear the HHH stuff and then hear the pirate gimmick stuff right after, that's not good. I'm sure that they have someone that browses all these wrestling message boards, so Vince or HHH will find out. They may not care, but they'll know.

"When do you think Triple H and Shawn Michaels should give it up?"

"Last week."

Awesome. Even though he said he was joking.

And, in this interview he says he's single...but umm, didn't in his last interview in like, a week or two ago he have a fiancee? If that's changed, well that was fast.

Sounds like Orton knows a thing or two about wrestling, even if he isnt the best performer.

Just give him the book.

I'm also wondering if the other wrestlers on Raw also think the SS sucks, and if the SS themselves believe its ridiculous the way they are booked? Of course, none of them will say anything bc they'd probably be back in the minors without this gimmick.

I was surprised by his single comments too, don't tease me like that, Randall!

His gimmick cracks don't worry me so much, because others have done so before and didn't really get in trouble. Besides, the pirate character might be dead when Burchill returns, so who knows.

They have complained. They also were doing this gimmick in OVW too...Heyman made it work.

The Spirit Squad gimmick itself isn't the problem... it's them being in constant main events, beating up noted stars 5-on-1. That does nothing to help any of the Squad members, like Randy said.

When Mark Henry put Burchill out a few weeks ago the suggestion was that the pirate gimmick would be dropped when he came back after knee surgery.

It doesn't help when only Doane shows any sign of balls(taking the sledgehammer from HHH). They don't even come off equally. It's like the NWO B-Team but with Nash shoved into it and everyone knows Nash is miles ahead of Norton and Stevie Ray.

Yeah don't get your hopes up.

Maybe Randy went back into character since he's going to hook up with Brooke Hogan later on.

That's a good point. They probably chipped him for mentioning it in the other interview and now he's got to be single in order to want to have sex with Brooke.

So the dude doesn't just repeat himself when he stumbles in a promo. He does it all the time.

Good interview, though. The man speaks the truth.

Maybe he accidently gave her an RKO after she came up to hug him from behind?

I've always been a fan of those who speak their mind.

I may become a Randy Orton fan, after all.
