I'll play it a bit and see what I think. I'll only get $30 from EB, and probably not even that much. I'll just keep it for the moment, might sell it on eBay or something.

Blu-Ray and HD-DVD have at least one more thing in common: their movie cases suck--

Uggggggggggggh.

Will this spill over into the PS3 games? It doesn't seem so. I picked up a flyer for the PS3 from Gamestop, and it seems most of the launch titles are listed, with mock-up cover art. None of them seem to use standard sized DVD cases like the Wii and XB360. However, they seem to differ in size. They seem slightly tallker than they are wide, so apparently they will come in their own unique cases.

I don't like the way the "PlayStation 3" logo is on the side on the PS3 box covers. It worked for Genesis, it worked for the original PlayStation but I really think it would look a lot better if the logo was on top like with PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube.

I don't have a problem with the cases at all. They fit fine in my shelf unit.

So did you buy half of those movies just for the hell of it - or because you actually like them? I mean, I really can't see someone watching the Fast and the Furious more than once. ;P

Yeah, that's the worst launch in terms of exclusives in a long time. Anyone that buys a PS3 this year certainly isn't doing so for the games.

People said the PS2 had a bad launch, but at least it had TTT and SSX that were true quality exclusives. There's nothing even close to that for PS3 at launch.

Not that impressive a list, Elder Scrolls Oblivion is the only game on there I'd buy if I was getting a PS3 at launch. Of course i'd never do that (get it at launch), why bother when the good games like FF13, MGS, Assassins Creed, etc are coming out in 07? To be fair, the only game I'd buy if I got a Wii at launch would be Zelda.

If we're lucky sales could slip in 07 and we might even get a price drop towards the end of the year.

Yeah, I'm planning to wait until Winter 07 to buy one. Hopefully there'll be a drop by then. It seems pretty likely, since it'll be really important for Sony to move a lot of units that second Christmas, and I don't think there's going to be unlimited demand if it stays at $600.

I'm honestly more interested in PS1 downloads than I should be. It appears once you download it to your PS3 you can then sync it to your PSP.

Then I realize the cost of a PSP and PS3 will run you like at least $650 bucks, then it seems less appealing, but hey--maybe in the future I'll take great advantage of it.
