I have a feeling that alot of you guys aren't getting the idea behind the finish to the I Quit match but it was perfectly done.

 

Explain.

 

Foley has throughly put over his devotion(if not, love) for Melina for months. Before the Flair angle even started. Put over how much he cares for her as a friend and hasn't shied from showing a emotional connection to her.

 

The match was brutal as expected and Foley took it like a pill and we know he could have taken more.

 

Re-watch the pre-match promo with Foley and Melina and they well established that Melina cares honestly for Mick as well.

 

Foley with almost his last breath urges Flair to stop and gives away his pride to save the girl who tried to save him.

 

If you still can't realize why it was great, then you never really paid attention to Foley in the last 5 months.

 

 

I quit to save Melina? That's good.

DQ finish at Summerslam? That's fucking bunk. I'll agree with a previous post that said it was too soon for Batista to re-tain, but would a dusty finish have made a difference? I'll say yes..

What a bullshit finish.........doesnt help out Booker at all, he'd be better off just jobbing here. Kind of an overall rush-job mess of a match. Like I said before, they could have and should have built to that scepter shot and had Batista do the job, then just chasing the title for a rematch at No Mercy. Crowd had every right to shit on that whole match, it just was completely pointless and would have been better to do shit like that on an actual Smackdown episode versus here on the ppv.

I just cant see Kane being booked here as it makes zero sense and building to another Kane/Shane match, much less a feud, would be absolutely ridiculous. Vince and Kane feuding also would be dumb, BUT the only thing I could see a possible Kane run-in leading to would be a lame feud w/ Umaga or something. I could see him being fed to him for the next ppv, so its likely Kane here. Ugh.
