Press Release on the first few episodes of the Season

* "Clark must battle his way out of the Phantom Zone. Thrown into this Kryptonian jail created by Jor-El, Clark finds himself without powers and surrounded by revenge-seeking criminals sent away by his father. Jor-El's old assistant, a young woman named Raya (guest star Pascale Hutton), comes to his aid in the Phantom Zone and helps Clark escape. Unfortunately, there may have been others who escaped with him."

* "Martha continues to adjust to life without Jonathan, but is conflicted about her growing feelings for Lionel. Though Lionel has offered to help Clark, Martha is unsure of his motives."

* "The relationship between Lex and Lana gets serious, widening the gap between Lana and Clark. While Lex loves Lana, he is still driven by his ambitions and continues down the path of evil. Though he promised to always tell Lana the truth, he realizes some things need to stay a secret in order to maintain his relationship with her. "

* "Clark and Lex's friendship has completely dissolved, and the two have become enemies, forcing Clark to work harder to protect his secret. On top of the fact that Lex stole Lana from him, Clark sees the dangerous path Lex is taking and vows to stop him. This season, best friends turn into bitter enemies battling the very forces of good and evil."

* "There is a new billionaire in town with the arrival of DC Comics character Oliver Queen, aka Green Arrow (Justin Hartley). Although he has no superpowers, Oliver is a gifted archer who qualified for the U.S. Olympic team, but chose to put his skills to work as the 'emerald archer.' He steals ill-gotten gains from the rich and gives to the poor. Oliver comes from Star City to Metropolis to aid in the recovery from Brainiac's deadly virus. While in town, he meets and is charmed by Lois Lane, igniting suspicion and a little jealousy in Clark. Oliver discovers Clark's abilities and asks Clark to join him in his new project forming a league of superheroes."

* "Chloe is pleasantly surprised when former fling and aspiring photographer Jimmy Olsen (guest star Aaron Ashmore) joins the staff of The Daily Planet, and the two rekindle their relationship."

Story I'm looking forward to most? Defintely Oliver Queen/Lois. Partly because Lois in my opinion is one of the better aspects of the show (even though I like her more in Season 4, rather then Campaign Manager Lois) so that should be interesting. Especially if he's the "womanizing, asshole" Oliver Queen from the comics. Plus I'm a sucker for superhero cameos in smallville (Bart, Victor)

And I was gonna make a comment on how they messed up Shawn Ashmore's name..until I imdb'd the guy. Never knew of him, interesting. So, Jimmy Olsen is Iceman's brother...who happened to be a guy who earlier in the series stole Clark's powers....quite the web that's woven.

But I can't wait for this season.

edit- And I didn't even realize Oliver Queen, is the fomer Arthur Curry haha. awesome.

Wierd that they picked him instead of Alan Ritchson (who played Aquaman in Smallville). Either way, I heard it was a total bomb of a show.

I'll watch, but I'm growing tired of the show.

-Lana, I simply do not care about the charcter. I was so happy when she died, and so pissed when they backed out on it. Truth is I've gotten bored with Chloe as well.

-EVERY single season has done the cliffhanger ending, and it's obnoxious. Season 1 ended with Lana in the tornado, season 2 had Clark running away from home, season 3 Clark ending up vanishing from the planet. And season 4, the worst season of the bunch had Clark...hell, I don't even fully remember, but it was another cliffhanger. And season 5, same thing.

Sometimes you just need to cap a season.

Sadly, I have yet to watch this show. I may watch the DVDs when the show is done.

Though, despite this...wanted to gage an opinion from you people:

For the end of the series, would it ending with a shot of Clark, finally in the Superman outfit, taking off into the sky or no?

I felt the same way with that, and when they did it with Chloe as well. Fucking pansies.

Get ready for Justice League the College Years

From the column of TV Guide's Mike Ausiello, some quotes from Alfred Gough: "Episode 11, which is our second episode back in January, is going to be called 'Justice,' and it'll basically be our first look at the Justice League. We're gonna have Green Arrow, Cyborg, Flash and Aquaman, played by Alan Ritchson, who is coming back. That's gonna be our first Justice League episode." And where exactly is Wonder Woman? "Ask Joel Silver," Gough grumbles. "He's the producer; he controls the movie rights. We'd do a whole Wonder Woman series if we had Wonder Woman, but Joss Whedon is writing the movie, so we can't have her."

Please, like Cyborg deserves to be in the Justice League.

Edit: (I mean, he's no Vixen, that's for sure)

Man I can't wait for Green Arrow this season.

I don't know why, I'm not even a huge fan of him in the comic books, but there's something cool about another hero being in town I guess.

And I really hope they bring back "Beaver" as Bart again this season as he was a really good Flash, well 'Kid Flash' I thought.

I suspect it was because the first Aquaman's acting was of middle-school play caliber.

How to get me to watch this show again:

-have Lana move far, far away.

-have Clark grow some fucking balls.

-more Chloe.

-guest-star the Legion.

I was pretty disappointed in the opener

- Zod's defeat was ridiculously easy

- Clark escapes the Phantom Zone in one episode while doing practically nothing

- No explanation as to how Martha & Lois survive A PLANE CRASH

the only cool thing about the whole show was Lana getting stabbed in the hand. I did NOT see that one coming.

Remember kids, ALWAYS wear your seat belts! We're not kidding!

BTW, who's bright idea was it to cast Tori Spelling in some episodes for this season? Good lord.

Ditto. I was expecting SOMEONE main-character-wise to die (was hoping for Lana to finally take a fucking hike) but no dice. :(

Lana? DIE? Oh man that's funny! What would the show revolve around if they killed her off? That Kent kid? Surely you're joking. It's not called Lanaville for nothing ya know.

I'm trying really REALLY hard to get into this show but Lana existing and the piss poor way they are handling the stuff that is actually interesting is making it impossible.

Watching Lex Luther getting basically treating like a moronic sap by Lana was just annoying. There is no reason her character should still be alive anymore. None. She has ran her course and should be dead.
