Carnival Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 So close...Bowling Green beat Buffalo 34-27 in OT. Nope, BG 48-Buff 40 Final 2missed XP's made it 40-40, then BG scores gets the 2pt. Buff gets the 4th & 1....gets stuffed. GOD DAMNIT!
CanadianChris Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 Huh...the Sportsline ticker had the game as being a final at 34-27. Still does, in fact. 48-40 is even more heartbreaking.
Bored Posted September 10, 2006 Author Report Posted September 10, 2006 I love the Sportsline ticker because the screen doesn't have to refresh for the scores to update. Only problem with it though is when games go to overtime for some bizarre reason it only shows a game as "final" after the first score in overtime and then often doesn't update the score after that. Oh and ESPN2 reallllllly needs to dump this debacle and flip on Troy/FSU for bonus coverage. Still tied 10-10 in the 4th and Troy in FSU territory.
CanadianChris Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 Horrible challenge by Mack Brown. Someone should have told him that was a clean fumble.
Bored Posted September 10, 2006 Author Report Posted September 10, 2006 Touchdown Troy, 17-10 with 11:21 left in the 4th.

Why the hell are we still being subjected to LSU pistol whipping Arizona? Cut your losses and go to something marginally (and surprisingly) competitive.
devo Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 Are OSU's receivers really good or is Texas' backfield really bad? The coverage has been terrible thus far.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 Hey UT, you might want to put someone on Gonzalez tonight.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 The Texas secondary is depleted a bit by Terrell Brown's suspension, and OSU is going after his backups pretty hard. OSU's receivers are also pretty freakin' great, so it's a strength against a weakness this week.
Damaramu Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 A 17-point win over a passable BCS-conference team is fine. A lot better than a win in OT over the worst major team in the country. If Iowa can even get that. Yeah but you know people don't view college football like that. You gotta win by over 20 to get respect these days. When Mack stupidly wasted that challenge I think millions of people around the country had the shine of Vince Young wear off and they went "oh yeah.....Mack Brown! I remember him!" Man Troy beating FSU? Is this season going to be called "Whipping boys strike back!" ????

Besides, it's not going to matter any at this point in the season.
Urban Warfare Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 My god... if Troy wins... Edit: Damn, FSU ties it.
Bored Posted September 10, 2006 Author Report Posted September 10, 2006 Stanford blows a 34-14 lead and loses to San Jose State 35-34. Helllllllllllooooo 0-12 season. The Pac-10 is 20 million kinds of awful this year.

Bored Posted September 10, 2006 Author Report Posted September 10, 2006 Touchdown FSU with under two minutes to go. Oh well.
Guest Princess Leena Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 Stanford should beat Navy, at least.

The Pac-10 is 20 million kinds of awful this year. The Big 12 is right up there with you buddy. One show leagues. I don't know if you can say that just yet. Let the Texas/OSU, OU/Oregon, and Nebraska/USC games go by first. Really, no league has shown tremendous dominance so far. The SEC probably looks the best top to bottom right now, but it's really too early to say much of anything.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 Stanford should beat Navy, at least. Wouldn't be too sure of that.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 And Florida State survives after picking off Troy St. with less than a minute to go. Isn't Bowden's son the OC? He's gonna have to go Old Yeller on him at some point with the way the offense has been the last couple of seasons.
Bored Posted September 10, 2006 Author Report Posted September 10, 2006 One day in the future the quarterback will never be able to be hit with any force.
iggymcfly Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 That was the worst roughing the passer call I've ever seen in my life. That's all I have to say.
Damaramu Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 It was a bullshit call. My friend looked at me and goes "you know this is football."
Conspiracy_Victim Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 One day in the future the quarterback will never be able to be hit with any force. They're just going to let them keep the green jerseys they let them wear during the week and declare them 2 hand touch. That was a rediculous penalty, but as soon as I saw the hit I knew they were going to call helmet to helmet contact.

Bored Posted September 10, 2006 Author Report Posted September 10, 2006 Air Force goes for the win instead of overtime and fails, 31-30 Tennessee.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 Air Force goes for the win instead of overtime and fails, 31-30 Tennessee. What is good for Akron is not always good for you, Falcons. Kick the XP and take your chances in OT. Of course, that's easy for me to say in hindsight.
naiwf Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 Someone please fire Fisher Douche-berry for that decision.
