bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2006 If there's any franchise that desperately needs a shot in the arm its the Bond franchise. Trailer for Casino Royale http://movies.aol.com/casino-royale-james-...-video-features Looks awesome I say. Love how dramatic and serious it is, instead of the goddamn smarmy and boring pierce brosnan movies.
Guest Felonies! Report post Posted September 8, 2006 James Bond movies are supposed to be serious?
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2006 I caught the trailer during Nip/Tuck...looks good, but I won't go to the theater to see it. I'm not entirely sold on Daniel Craig either, but we'll see once I actually watch it.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2006 Wow, how bad have Bond movies been lately if people are saying, "The best since.." after a trailer?
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2006 One thing that irks me is this: If they are reinventing the Bond franchise then why is Judi Dench still M? Seriously, isn't this the time where you clean house and get a new M, new Moneypenny, etc. I'd keep Cleese as Q, since he wasn't that established in the role. bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2006 Wow, how bad have Bond movies been lately if people are saying, "The best since.." after a trailer? pretty bad. or at least, very formulaic rehashed nonsense. I can't even remember which movie was which from the post-goldeneye bonds. i have a vague recollection of denise richards, sophea marceau and halle barry as Bond's fuck-toys and that's it. Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2006 Tomorrow Never Dies wasn't too terrible...Michelle Yeoh was his fuck-toy in that one...the other two were crap, though.
Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2006 I thought "The World Is Not Enough" was decent, but "Die Another Day" was pretty bad. Brosnan's run was still one of my favorites though merely due to the presence of "Goldeneye" which is the best of the Bond movies.
Der Kommissar 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2006 Wow, how bad have Bond movies been lately if people are saying, "The best since.." after a trailer? If you think that's bad, some Bond fans are already proclaiming that it will be the greatest Bond film ever made just by what they've seen in the trailers. Yeah, no room for disappointment there. Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2006 At least they haven't started copying popular genres of the times recently like they did with Live and Let Die, Moonraker & Licence to Kill.
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2006 Halle Berry was the worst Bond girl to ever exist. No, watch Die Another Day and try to argue that shit.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2006 Ugh, they did a needless choral version of the Bond theme. I'm getting so sick of that being used in every remotely serious movie. It'll take some getting used to a blond 007. Shame about that Aston Martin.
Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2006 This looks interesting. I might go and see it. And UYI, I agree. I hated Halle Berry as a Bond girl, but that might be because I;m sick of her, period.
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2006 I'm still not completely sold on Daniel Craig, but he does seem to fit the new mold they seem to be making for Bond. Trailer does sell the movie well. I might go catch it opening weekend, which is saying something for me (I hate seeing big movies on opening weekend), And yes, Halle was terrible. I liked Michelle Yeoh, but then again I've got a bit of a thing for Asian women so take that for what it's worth.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2006 Denise Richards was good, but nothing will beat Famme Ramussen as Xenia Onatopp.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2006 I have no problem with Judy Dench being in this movie. Other than Pierce, she was the only other good actor/actress in the series.
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2006 Denise Richards was good, but nothing will beat Famme Ramussen as Xenia Onatopp. Michelle is my 1, Famke is 1a.
Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 Hope they put the car to use before trashing it. In all honesty, Goldeneye, while good, was never a favorite of mine. PArt of it had to do with the score- I never liked it. I think my personal favorite of the recent Bonds was Tommorrow Never Dies.

Brosnan's run was still one of my favorites though merely due to the presence of "Goldeneye" which is the best of the Bond movies. What he said. "TWINE" no doubt looks better in my eyes with the presence of Denise Richards and Sophie Marceau, although the first one could've (or should've) shown a bit more skin in the movie. Of course, Xenia Onatopp still rules the fucking world.
