2GOLD Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 What happened with the refs? I was watching the other games On a huge fourth down play, the LSU quarterback throws the ball towards the goal line. The LSU receiver was basically being tackled by his feet and intially they threw a flag for pass interference. HOWEVER they then waved it off because the ball was tipped before it got to him by a defender. The main reason the call is getting hell is because earlier in the game, LSU had an interception taken away from them by the officials even though it was basically the exact same play.
teke184 Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 WTF? I know I'm a bit biased here, but shouldn't LSU have had closer to 10 seconds left on the clock for that final play? The play started started with roughly 10-15 seconds left on the clock but, when a DEAD BALL FALSE START was called, about 6 seconds ran off the clock. Combine that with the 2 blown pass interference calls and I'm slightly upset at the refs, but not at Auburn who played a hell of a game.
Damaramu Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 Peterson looks to be alright and he's re-entered the game. He's rushed for over 200 yards at this point. It's like he gets stopped the entire first half and waits until the defense is tired from tackling him then he punishes them and shreds them. This might be the game here.
Guest Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 To discuss something non-Michigan for once... goddamn are Oregon's uniforms ugly. I think it's a scare-tactic they use against their competition... It also makes it easier for the QB to spot his own guys, because few other schools will wear uniforms that fucking ugly. The players love them. I overestimated Oregon's skill on defense as opposed to their toughness. Almost every player on their team is tough, but some of them aren't the smartest or most skilled.
Art Sandusky Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 It's almost football time in Tennessee. Time to go watch the game with my Pop. We're gonna stomp that chomp. Fuckin' Gators will want to get rid of orange as a color when it's over.
Urban Warfare Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 Nevermind... I'm very excited for the game to start. One side of me says Florida wins by two touchdowns, another side of me says UT wins by 6 points. Edit: Jesus Christ, another turnover by Quinn, 47-21 Wolverines.
Carnival Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 WTF? I know I'm a bit biased here, but shouldn't LSU have had closer to 10 seconds left on the clock for that final play? The play started started with roughly 10-15 seconds left on the clock but, when a DEAD BALL FALSE START was called, about 6 seconds ran off the clock. The call was illegal formation actually. Not sure if that's a dead ball or not. Apparently not.
teke184 Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 Forgot what exactly the penalty was... Was watching it from a loud restaurant at the time.
Slayer Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 Brady Quinn fumble returned for TD by Michigan with 3:23 to go and that should (almost) finish it for the Domers
Guest Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 I'm glad that Michigan ended this Notre Dame to the National Title myth. I'll wait until the Minnesota game before I call them a contender, because they always lose their first Big Ten road game, or so it seems. Fuck the Irish.
Guest Princess Leena Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 It was illegal formation, not enough men on the line. Clock isn't reset for that. LSU got the rough end of a few calls there... but, oh well. I love watching Kenny Irons, so it's fine by me.
2GOLD Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 That loud sound you heard was Brady Quinn's Heisman hopes exploding and being ripped apart. The good thing the Irish have is they are the Irish and the writers/polls will cut them INCREDIBLE amounts of slack. Cause they weren't good enough to be a #2, I had them as #11 at best.
Guest Princess Leena Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 If the Irish were gonna lose, now was the time. If they could beat USC by some miracle, and the only way is by some 56-49 type shootout because their defense blows, they'll be right back near the top.
Guest Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 The Oregon game IS NOT over. Shitty call though.
CanadianChris Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 Horrible call. Dama's breaking every piece of furniture in his living room right now.
Guest Princess Leena Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 S. Illinois beats Indiana 35-28. The I-AA takeover continues. And I believe the ACC may be the worst BCS conference now. Geez.
Vampiro69 Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 Who the hell was reviewing the play? Stevie Wonder?
Damaramu Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 That was a terrible fucking call!
teke184 Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 It was illegal formation, not enough men on the line. Clock isn't reset for that. LSU got the rough end of a few calls there... but, oh well. I love watching Kenny Irons, so it's fine by me. I know LSU would lose the time they were at the line... But the time between the whistle and the clock stopping as well? That's a bit of a stretch because the play was in motion for 3-4 seconds before the clock finally stopped.
Urban Warfare Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 My God, I don't even want to see his reaction if OU loses. God damn, that was bad. Another suspect call against OU.
Vampiro69 Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 Talk about homefield advantage this game.
therealworldschampion Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 ND is not winning the national title, this loss probably knocks them down to about 12th or 13th. If Michigan beats MSU and wins in Happy Valley, they'll get to Columbus undefeated. This win puts them outside, if not actually in the top 5. Auburn should be the new #2.
Damaramu Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 OU GOT JOBBED! Just like at Texas Tech!
