There are rare situations/circumstances where a double-standard is warranted. THIS is one of those situations.

 

There is a big difference between an adult female simply offering up sex and an adult male putting forth coercion and self-esteem tricks in order to break down a girl mentally to where she will have sex with him.

 

If you can't see the difference you are blind or ignorant. Once again, it doesn't make either situation right, but they are still definately different.

So, when an older guy does it to a young girl, it's because they're preying on a naive young lady with poor self-esteem, but when it's an older woman doing a young guy it's all cool, because DUDE that's the fantasy fulfilled! HIGH FIVE HIGH FIVE HIGH FIVE.

 

Let me turn the tables. What if it was an older MALE teacher and a 14 year old BOY? I bet suddenly you'd be back to thinking it's a predator-prey thing rather than it just being HAWT.

 

This woman's really sick in the head. No one should have given her a free pass but they did. The double standard here is beyond retarded.

Basically, all the arguments I see in this thread are "it's bad for girls, so it must be bad for guys too" or "who says teen girls can't be as horny as guys". While those may be good arguments for why 14 year old girls should be able to consent to sex, they are not arguments for why 14 year old guys should not be able to consent.

Actually, my argument was more along the lines of, "why is it always presumed to be consensual when it was a female teacher/male student, but when it's a male teacher/female student, it is always presumed that the teacher is some sort of manipulative pedophile?" Why are the female teachers always given "the benefit of the doubt," for lack of a more appropriate term?

 

Basically, what I'm saying is that, in NoCalMike's post, he came off to me like he feels that when it's male teachers, it's always because the teacher's a shitbag that's preying on impressionable young girls, but when it's a female teacher, then it's more or less okay, because she's just giving the kid what he wants... And I want to know why do we presume that to be the case? He seems to think that the double standard is acceptable, but I'm calling bullshit on that point of view.
