Lesnar's being trained by Royce Garcie to be a MMA fighter plus Lesnar is going to make his MMA debut in febuary 07 at K-1 Heros debut show.

I think A new timeslot on a new night

He has that K-1 shot in February right? But does he have any kind of exclusive deal? I can't imagine him not at least considering 2-3 dates per month for half a million dollars a year if he was given a Sting type offer.

If Dave Meltzer is still speculating that it could at least conceivably be Brock Lesnar, I'm not ruling it out yet.

Don't bother. He's in pure work mode all the time.

How is he in work mode?

By staying in character. He's not doing an interview, he's cutting a promo.

But he isn't doing that. What made you think he was staying in character?

Here is an idea...

What do you WANT it to be? Keeping it realistic, (meaning no Lesnar/Angle/Hart fantasies)...

We know the timeslot and Russo stuff, that's already been openly revealed. While the "major announcment" is going to involve those things, it isn't neccesarily the entire deal.

The only thing really to measure this hype is if they signed a current WWE top level contracted worker under the rader and with the legal contracts WWE has on big name talents, that isn't possible anymore.

The announcment will be a failure in terms of matching the hype but it does need to matter.

I agree that realistically it isn't Lesnar, but it has to be someone, and realistically speaking it really can't be anyone.

Kurt Angle: Riding out a WWE deal until February and not looking to burn a WWE bridge.

Chris Jericho: 25 pounds away from being in wrestling shape, busy, and not looking to burn a bridge with WWE.

Chris Benoit: Not looking to burn a bridge with WWE and likely winding down his career.

Goldberg: Probably not a good long term fit with TNA, not big on wrestling, probably out of wrestling shape and not a fan of Vince Russo.

Eric Bischoff: WWE book coming out, probably wouldn't live up to the hype.

The Rock. Hahahahahahahaha.

Enough people have reported that the suprise isn't Russo that I tend to believe it.

I would put the best bets to be Brock Lesnar and Goldberg, but really there are a thousand reasons why it won't be either.

Who knows, it is nice to see a genuine, unleaked suprise though.

Why is Chris Benoit being mentioned? He signed a contract with WWE and he is on the upcoming touring schedule.

Everyone makes sense as far as being rumored suggestions despite not being realistic by any stretch of the imagination.

Wasn't it said he never got around to signing an extension and had a verbal agreement with WWE?

He was in character made me think he was in character. If you listen to enough 'shoot' interviews, or even regular interviews, you can pick up the signs, voice inflection, tone, etc, that give away when someone is in character, bullshitting, or telling you something they really believe. In those three interviews, Russo was in character.

I am predicting the Major Anouncement on the PPV I think Austin Starr(Aries) will come out making his return to TNA and make the major anouncement that i am predicting will be a new two hour timeslot on a new night (wensday nights 9-11) but first before he can make the anoucement Eric Young will come out and bag Starr not to fire him, Starr will then make the timeslot Anouncement and then Sting will come out and Changlle Jarrett to an NWA title match on the new two IMPACT! to boost up ratings and then Corrnette comes out and makes it offical.

The announcement better be that they signed Bryan Danielson and that Joe/Danielson is signed for BFG.

Other then that, nothing else would live up to the hype for me.

If Goldberg signed a TNA deal before they brought Russo back (which is possible) I could easily see them easily having him show up tonight to challenge Joe for BFG. The way the BFG lineup is set now, Joe is way left out in the cold on that show unless they put him in the Sting-Jarrett match.

Thats my most realistic prediction at this point.

Jesus, wanna try a period or two in there? My head hurts.

As much as TNA will likely push Austin Aries (I refuse to call him Starr) in the X-Division, I doubt he'll have anything to do with the big announcement, he's a relatively small player, as much as I personally hate to admit it. Cornette will likely make the big announcement, and if it's not a 2-hr timeslot, it's at least a prime-time timeslot.

PWInsider recently said that if he has a contract, then it was just recently signed. They said, contract or not, he's set to return to WWE TV very soon.

The Vince Russo interview that I listened to sure didn't sound like it was in "character" to me.

Somehow I think its going to be just like the New Year's Eve special with Christian making some announcement about Sting. This time Christian is going to announce that Sting's long time former partner.....Warior will be making his 1st time appearence at Impact on its new night and time. Eric Young comes out dressed up as early surfer Sting begging not to be fired and Monty Brown as golfer Sting comes out to challenge Warrior to a match. Warrior disapears in a cloud of smoke via trap door.

My Granny, who works for TNA as a baker of Pies for Dutchy, said that it's Bobby Heenan as Bobby Roodes manager. However its Heenan from the 80s, as apprently Vince Russo's microwave is also part time machine. My Granny is a crack addict, so this information may not be true.

Guest heat
The word going around backstage at the No Surrender PPV in Orlando, Florida is that in an effort to prevent the surprise from being leaked out, whoever it is will be hidden at a hotel until around 9:30 PM before being brought over to the PPV.

The surprise appearance/announcement is set to close the show. There are only a handful within TNA who know what the announcement is and all have signed non disclosure agreements. There is a lot of anticipation and excitement backstage over whatever is planned, although some of the wrestlers are disgruntled about having to wait to find out what it is at the same time as the fans watching the show.

They wouldn't go through all this effort for a bust. It really needs to be Jericho but it won't be.

Of all the wrestlers thrown around, he is the only one not tied into a contract and doesn't have heat with the company.

It won't be Jericho...I'll admit...TNA is really doing a good job of making this seem major.
