JN News 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2006 Ted Dibiase was forced into retirement on his 40th birthday due to suffering a very serious spinal injury. But, what really happened on that day? What was it that caused Ted's career-ending injury in 1994?
Guest East.Coast.J Report post Posted September 24, 2006 I could be mistaken, but I don't think that Ted Dibiase was still wrestling on January 18th of 1994, which would have been his 40th birthday. He had a herniated disc in his back that was pretty much the result of years of abuse in the ring, and then he got a stinger of sorts working against The Big Bossman in Japan in late 1993 and went to the doctor and found out he had a double herniated disc. I think it was this point that he just said the hell with it and stopped wrestling and started collecting on his Lloyd's of London policy.

Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2006 It was a herniated disc in his neck, and it happened in, I think, the October 1993 tour.
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2006 That was what I seem to recall as well. I always noticed how in his days as manager the other wrestlers were very protective of him and he never took any serious bumps.

Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2006 I should mention that Dibiase's boys have been training with Harley Race and Ace Steel and are apparently pretty good. I'm surprised that Dibiase would encourage his sons to wrestle, considering the nature of the business. By 2009, we're going to have alot of 2nd and 3rd generation wrestlers running around. Prime Time Andrew Doyle 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2006 Is the Million Dollar Man still with us? He was on RAW a few months ago with the likes of Eugene, Goldust, and Snitsky backstage. I thought that was at WM when Goldust was trying to help Booker overcome his fear of freaks.

ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2006 yeah, it was WM They did one a few weeks or months later as well on Unlimited. Goldust and Snitsky were talking about something, both walk off. In the background is a man reading the Wall Street Journal. He lowers the paper, revealing DiBiase, then that cues the DiBiase laugh.
