This week in the NBA

Recommended Posts

The Bulls beat the defending champs by a million on opening night and are now 1-2. Gotta love the NBA.

The Suns are overcrowded at the 2/3. They're commited to giving Barbosa and Bell around 30 a night, Bell because he's their best defender, Barbosa because he's such a dynamic offensive player, with Amare and Kurt Thomas back Diaw has to get more time at the 3, and now they've got to find 15-20 a night for Rose. They have James Jones in their rotation as well, and Marcus Banks backing up Nash (though he could potentially lose minutes on this deal with Barbosa capable of playing the point)....I guess it's a good problem to have for D'Antoni.....but I'm not sure why Rose would choose Phoenix over Miami, where he would be guaranteed a more consistent role.

anyone else watching Lakers-Sonics?

I thought at least one of those Turiaf blocks could have been a foul, but awesome defensive effort by him, and a very good game overall. If he can keep this kind of play up, and Bynum keeps improving, once Mihm and Brown get back suddenly the Lakers are looking to be really deep.

Oh, and I like how Kobe does pushups on the floor after getting fouled and it's not a technical foul...

I thought it was a foul too, but on the replays it looked clean. Lewis and Allen are nasty, but it won't be enough.

Don't even get me started on Kobe. Him and his fake ass smiles.

Unless Miami was willing to give him the trade exception, there was no reason to take the deal. In Phoenix, he has a reduced role, but one where he can come in, have Nash create five-six shots for him, then call it a game. If I'm already guaranteed the buyout from the Knicks, I'm certainly taking the team where I can do less and still look good for next year in free agency (if he returns).

Maybe it's more a case of laziness than filling a big hole for the Heat.

I loved how the Lakers played last night. If they continue to play like that the can win...and alot. But I still get the feeling once Kobe gets his legs under him, the offense will shift to him. But like last night....that was great.

2nd block was a foul.

Thank God. I may never have heard the end of it had we lost tonight.

It looks like, early on, I'm going to have some big-time egg on my face concerning the Lakers (I had them out of the playoffs).

Went to the Knick game, and obviously a disappointing result. Great moment though right before the 3rd quarter ended when Nate hit that three to cut the lead to one. But we didn't do much in the 4th. Francis had a great game, and I don't know what's going on with Frye. Marbury and Crawford need to step it up too.

Yeah, with the way the Lakers improved as the season went on, and considering they were such a young team, they were only going to get better. What were you thinking??

Also, Blazers won last night on a 3 pointer. Sure they've only beat the Sonics and T-Wolves, but they lost to the Warriors so they'll probably still suck. Brandon Roy doesn't look all that bad, though.

The Sixers are looking to be 3-0, up 11 in the 4th against the World Champions. This must be some sort of joke as the Sixers claim this year they'll be "playing defense", despite not having anyone who can play defense, and having a bunch of garbage aside from the two Allens in the lineup.

Oh well, I'm game...

WHO'S NEXT?

Samuel Dalembert has been a beast for them though. Its its not a numbers thing although he has been there on rebouds and blocks. He has been energetic, challenging shots and the rebounds he hasn't been getting he has been keeping them alive for other teammates.

And Allen Iverson is being Allen Iverson.
