My CD/DVD burner is dead.

Ok, my burner for both CD's & DVD's is now dead, and there's some stuff that I want to burn onto DVD. (wrestling matches) My burner no longer works, no matter what program I install. What do I do?

Try to re-install the driver. If that does not work, then most likely the laser is either damaged or dead, and that means its time to get a new one.

The effort you'd put into fixing your old burner isn't worth the while. You can buy a brand new Pioneer 111 16X Dual Layer DVD burner (and get firmware upgrades off their site) for $39.99 if not cheaper.

Exactly, and its more likely an upgrade for that price of it not a similar model.

 

My CD-Rom drive crashed over a year ago I paid 45.00 CDN and it was an upgrade.
