Mik 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2006 Was wondering if you can help a sporadic at best wrestling fan out a little bit... I just watched the Hogan anthology DVD and was pretty pleased with it. I see that there is an Undertaker one out as well. Any good? Is it comprehensive? And secondly, are there any plans for a similar "career" DVD for Shawn Michaels that anyone knows about? Thanks in advance.
AntiLeaf33 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2006 from what I've seen of the take set "Tombstone" it seemed pretty well done. As for Shawn, I haven't heard anything about a set for him, (though there is a 3 disc D-X DVD coming out next year). Shawn probably won't get a big set until he retires, or goes extremely parttime (ala Taker)
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2006 "Shawn Michaels: From the Vault" is a couple years old..its probably like the old Hogan set, not very complete since its only 2 discs and doesn't include anything post 2003 since thats when it came out. Wouldnt surprise me in the least if they put another one out at some point..

Shawn probably won't get a big set until he retires, or goes extremely parttime (ala Taker) I bought "Tombstone : The History Of The Undertaker" and it's overall pretty good. Altough the packaging is a piece of fucking shit. It's just 3 discs stacked on top of each other in basically a thick paper DVD case. Also the menus are fucking terible. They are extremely basic with his entrance music playing. And if you're looking for commentary, you're not going to get any. If I remember correctly (I haven't watched it in a while) it's just a bunch of his matches.
Jaxxson Mayhem 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2006 Oh There's another Undertaker and I think it's called, "The Undertaker : He Buries Them Alive" or something along those lines.
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2006 There's another Undertaker and I think it's called, "The Undertaker : He Buries Them Alive" or something along those lines. It's just a rerelease of a 1995 home video. Zero DVD extras. As far as Tombstone, here's the match listing. Yeah, I'd call it comprehensive. Tombstone: The History of the Undertaker (8/23/05) - The Undertaker (w/ Paul Bearer) pinned WWF World Champion Hulk Hogan at 12:45 to win the title following a tombstone onto a steel chair, placed in the ring by Ric Flair (Survivor Series 91 - 11/27/91; Detroit, MI; Joe Louis Arena) - WWF World Champion Yokozuna (w/ Mr. Fuji & Jim Cornette) defeated the Undertaker (w/ Paul Bearer) in a casket match at 14:20 after Bam Bam Bigelow, Crush, Kabuki, Tenryu, Diesel, Jeff Jarrett, Adam Bomb, and the Headshrinkers interfered; after the match, the Undertaker was shown on the big screen and said he would never rest in peace before he ascended to the top of the arena (Marty Jannetty played the role of 'the Undertaker' that was lifted into the air) (Royal Rumble 94 - 1/22/94; Providence, RI; Civic Center) - The Undertaker (w/ Paul Bearer) pinned Diesel with a chokeslam and the tombstone at 16:47; during the bout, Diesel hit two consecutive powerbombs (WrestleMania XII - 3/31/96; Anaheim, CA; Arrowhead Pond) - The Undertaker defeated Mankind (w/ Paul Bearer) in a Buried Alive match at 18:25; after the match, the Executioner made his debut by attacking the Undertaker from behind with a shovel - with Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Justin Bradshaw, Goldust, Crush, Mankind, and the Executioner burying the Undertaker; as the show was about to go off the air, a lightning bolt shot down from the ceiling before the Undertaker's hand was seen coming out of the dirt (In Your House: Buried Alive - 10/20/96; Indianapolis, IN; Market Square Arena) - WWF World Champion the Undertaker pinned Mankind (w/ Paul Bearer) with the tombstone at 17:26; after the match, the champion shot a fireball into the eyes of Paul Bearer, forcing Bearer to be stretchered to an awaiting ambulance backstage (In Your House: Revenge of the Taker - 4/20/97; Rochester, NY) - Bret Hart pinned WWF World Champion the Undertaker to win the title following guest referee Shawn Michaels accidentally hitting the champion in the head with a steel chair after Hart spat at Michaels; after the match, Taker stalked Michaels to the back; had Hart failed to win the title, he would never again be able to wrestle in the United States (Summer Slam 97 - 8/3/97; East Rutherford, NJ) - WWF World Champion Bret Hart defeated the Undertaker via disqualification at 28:35 when the challenger failed to stop beating on Hart after the champion became entangled in the ropes head-first (One Night Only - 9/20/97; Birmingham, England) - The Undertaker fought Shawn Michaels to a no contest at 16:02 when each participant beat up a referee and Hunter Hearst Helmsley & Chyna interfered on behalf of Michaels; prior to the match beginning, the Undertaker attacked the referee when he got in the way of Michaels, which led to a several minute chase throughout the ringside area until a replacement referee was sent to the ring and the match officially began; after the match, each man was held back by numerous wrestlers until the Undertaker dove over the top rope onto Michaels and a host of heel wrestlers (In Your House: Ground Zero - 9/7/97; Louisville, KY) - WWF European Champion Shawn Michaels pinned the Undertaker at 29:56 in a non-title Hell in a Cell match after Paul Bearer and Kane came ringside, Kane ripped the door off the cage, and hit the tombstone on the Undertaker before leaving ringside; Michaels was escorted to the ring by Triple H, Chyna, and Rick Rude but all three returned backstage after the cage door was locked shut; midway through the contest, the door had to be unlocked in order to get an injured cameraman to safety (Flash Funk) - resulting in the two participants having a lengthy brawl outside and on top of the cage; after the contest, Triple H and Chyna helped Michaels backstage; due to prematch stipulations, Michaels earned a world title shot for the Survivor Series; named Pro Wrestling Torch's Match of the Year (the 1st ever HIAC; Kane's debut) (In Your House: Badd Blood - 10/5/97; St. Louis, MO) - The Undertaker pinned Kane (w/ Paul Bearer) following three tombstone piledrivers; after the match, Kane hit the tombstone on the Undertaker onto a steel chair; prior to the contest, Pete Rose ran down the city of Boston until Kane entered the ring and hit the tombstone (WrestleMania XIV - 3/29/98; Boston, MA; FleetCenter) - The Undertaker defeated Kane (w/ Paul Bearer) in an Inferno match at 16:01 (the 1st Inferno match) (Unforgiven 98 - 4/26/98; Greensboro Coliseum) - The Undertaker pinned Mankind in a Hell in a Cell match at 17:38 with the tombstone after dropping Mankind with an electric chair and chokeslam onto a pile of thumb tacks inside the ring; the match began on the roof of the cage where, 90 seconds into the contest, Taker threw his opponent off the top through the Spanish announce table on the floor; moments later, EMTs, Terry Funk and WWF officials Vince McMahon, Sgt. Slaughter, Tony Garea, and Dave Hebner came out to check on Mankind and to load him onto a stretcher; nearly 8 minutes later, Mankind pulled himself off the stretcher and scaled the cage to continue the match; less than 20 seconds later, the Undertaker hit a chokeslam on the roof of the cage, resulting in Mankind falling through the roof, hitting the mat, and being legitly knocked out by a steel chair which fell inside the ring on top of him; EMTs and officials again swarmed the ringside area where Taker hit a chokeslam on Terry Funk in order to buy Mankind time to recover his senses; voted Pro Wrestling Illustrated's Match of the Year and named Pro Wrestling Torch's Match of the Year (King of the Ring 98 - 6/28/98; Pittsburgh, PA) - WWF World Champion the Undertaker pinned the Rock at 19:47 with the tombstone after Triple H interfered and hit the Pedigree on the challenger as Rock used the champion's own ether-soaked rag on Taker (King of the Ring 99 - 6/27/99; Greensboro Coliseum) - WWF World Champion Steve Austin defeated the Undertaker in a First Blood, End of an Era match at 15:31 following a TV camera shot to the head after X-Pac interfered and kicked a chair into the challenger's face; prematch stipulations called for if Austin won, Vince McMahon would leave the WWF forever and if Taker won, Austin would never recieve a world title shot; Triple H attacked Austin after the match but the Rock made the save; Austin and Taker continued to brawl after the contest until Taker left ringside and Austin gave McMahon a goodbye handshake, just to hit the Stunner on him (Fully Loaded 99 - 7/25/99; Buffalo, NY) - The Undertaker pinned Triple H at 18:17 with a powerbomb out of the corner; prior to the match, Motorhead performed Triple H's theme song live as he made his way to the ring (WrestleMania X7 - 4/1/01; Astrodome) - The Undertaker pinned WWE World Champion Hulk Hogan to win the title at 11:20 with a chair shot and chokeslam after Hogan attacked Vince McMahon, who came ringside late in the contest as Hogan was about to win the match (Judgment Day 02 - 5/19/02; Nashville, TN) - WWE World Champion Brock Lesnar (w/ Paul Heyman) pinned the Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match by reversing an attempt at the tombstone and hitting the F5 at 27:15 (No Mercy 02 - 10/20/02; Little Rock, AR) - The Undertaker pinned John Cena at 16:06 with the powerbomb (Vengeance 03 - 7/27/03; Denver, CO) - The Undertaker fought WWE Smackdown! World Champion Kurt Angle to a no contest at 16:53 when Brock Lesnar interfered, hit the Undertaker moments after the challenger hit the powerbomb, and brutally attacked both men with a steel chair before hitting Angle in the face with the championship belt (9/2/03; New Orleans, LA) - Vince McMahon defeated the Undertaker in a Buried Alive Match at 11:58 when Kane attacked the Undertaker, knocked him into the grave, and allowed Vince to dump a massive amount of dirt into the grave via machinery at the gravesite (Survivor Series 03 - 11/16/03; Dallas, TX) - The Undertaker (w/ Paul Bearer) pinned Kane with the tombstone at 6:56 (Taker's return match following the Survivor Series; Bearer's surprise return after a nearly 4-year absence) (WrestleMania XX - 3/14/04; Madison Square Garden)

Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2006 yea I just got the tombstone set recently. oddly enough I finished watching it last night. but the angle-taker match on here wasnt as good as it was hyped to be (and I havent seen it in 3 years either). Vince bleeds the most ever by a mcmahon in the buried match I mean its just pouring out his head. plus in the first blood match shane mcmahon is nearly decaptitated by austins chair shot, I forgot how brutal that shot was. overall a nice set feautring some pretty famous matches and moments (though some stuff is missing) and a good look at all of his career in wwf/e
