luke-o Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 I just got it today, picked up in my local store for 10 quid. Its ok, the thing that dissapoints me is that it doesnt blow me away like the first album did. Its almost a bit meh. Some tracks are good, but some tracks are a bit pants. It may just need a few more listens. But, it does feature Ronnie James Dio on the first track, so that gives it a an extra star. Tenacious D - Pick Of Destiny ***1/2
LivingLegendGaryColeman Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 I picked it up yesterday, but I am not going to listen to it until I get to see the movie, so I have nothing spoiled.

luke-o Posted November 16, 2006 Author Report Posted November 16, 2006 Dio rules all! Damn straight he does! but I am not going to listen to it until I get to see the movie, so I have nothing spoiled. Well if it spoiled something in the movie for me, i didnt notice it.
Black Lushus Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 does it have skits? I found those to be funnier than the songs and I usually hate skits on music albums...
luke-o Posted November 17, 2006 Author Report Posted November 17, 2006 Not really, there is some talkin, but assuming its stuff from the film.
Guest Felonies! Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 I thought Jack Black had moved beyond the whole Tenacious D thing. Hasn't he been a boorish goof in like six or seven different roles since the last time anyone really talked about Tenacious D?
Sideburnious Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 Unfortunatly yes. I like Jack Black as an actor (see: king kong, shit, even Saving Silverman) but I grew out of that Tenacious D crap once everyone around me from 13-16 was going on about how "Fuck her Gently" is a masterpiece and hilarious.
Black Lushus Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 "Wonderboy" is a great song...the rest is pretty much "meh"
luke-o Posted November 17, 2006 Author Report Posted November 17, 2006 And im sick of hearing that too. But i really like the rest of the album.
Ravenbomb Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 I've only ever heard "Fuck her Gently" once, as part of some flash video
Black Lushus Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 I've only ever heard "Fuck her Gently" once, as part of some flash video that was the first time I heard it and I had no idea what the fuck I was watching!
tominator89 Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 I'm definitely glad that I waited until after seeing the movie to listen to the soundtrack. The stories make much more sense...too bad the movie itself was disappointing.
