Silence 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2006 If Vince hates him, Expect him to come out to the NAO theme and job out every night to HHH or HBK. WWE reusing an old theme for another wrestler? I was thinking of a crappy generic theme, actually.
haws bah gawd 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2006 In regards to him fighting the Spirit Squad. If you want this guy to make an immediate impact (no pun intended), put him in the ring against a Squad member. Have a ref bump then let the Squad do their usual 5-on-1 beatdown. Have Brown mount a miraculous comeback, followed by him running for the ropes, and (through some incredibly contrived circumstances), fly back with the Pounce on all 5 Squad members at once, sending them flying in all directions. Its quite over the top, but could make for a fun visual.
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2006 I guess if anything, this is intersting because this will be the first time a "TNA guy" has come to WWE, that I can think of. Sure, we've seen some guys like Sabu and Jeff Hardy come back to WWE after working TNA, but those guys already had established reputations. Monty Brown is only known in the wrestling world because of TNA. I'm guessing you like the rest of the world has forgotten Karzarian's cup of coffee in the WWE on Velocity? This all depends on what Vince thinks of him. If Vince hates him, Expect him to come out to the NAO theme and job out every night to HHH or HBK. If Vince likes him, They will probably do a football player like gimmick on Smackdown. Yeah, I did forget about Kazarian. Mainly because I never even saw him wrestle in a WWE ring before they "let him go."
razazteca 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2006 I always thought Kazarian looked better than Randy Orton in everything in and out of the ring. Now what is going to make Monty special? WWE already has 3 or 4 big muscle black guys with the current flavor of the week being Bobby Lashley. There is already a couple of guys that do the basic big man power move set of Spear, powerslam, lariat, spinebuster, big boot. Why should I care about Monty? Smackdown has Lashley, Boogerman, Mark Henry and that coach look-a-like MVP. Raw has Shelton Benjamin who apparently got the hand-me-downs from The Rock's wardrobe and Coach who pretends to be GM and part time wrestler whenever Cena needs a squash match. Twisted Intestine 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2006 Seriously. Lashley I can see you making a comparison to. What the fuck do Shelton, Coach, Henry, Boogeyman, or MVP have to do with anything?
razazteca 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2006 there's a limit to the number of black wrestlers allowed on the WWE roster? There should be a limit on the number of people using the same gimmick. It's not necessary a racial thing its more about how "superstars" are brought up from the developmental fed to the national television market. Do you really want 5 former football players using the spear every week? WWE is starting to look like that Michael Keaton movie Multiplicity where you got a copy of a copy of a copy with the 4th gen copy looks like the original but can't perform any of the tasks at 100%. Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2006 The only similarity is that Coach, Benjamin and Lashley have shaved heads. Those specific names are totally different, were brought into the company completely different and I fail to see how anyone could make any sort of comparison aside from racial. Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2006 not to mention completely different move sets...and at least Monty's pounce, as dumb a finisher as it is, looks like it might actually hurt someone as opposed to ohhhh say Edge's spear.
Scroby 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2006 WOW, this is great, the greatest homegrown TNA wrestler is going to WWE. I can't wait, this is going to be the greatest thing EVER!!! TNA is DEAD!!! They lost Monty "Pounce" Brown. What are they going to do to get over losing such a great wrestler, worker and talker?....How about not care. If you couldn't tell, I was being sarcastic. Monty Brown is a joke. The only reason Vince went after Brown was because he was a homegrown talent. Monty Brown is a HORRIBLE wrestler, and his promos are worthless. I never cared about him from day one and didn't know why he got such a big push at times. TNA tried with him and he failed. For a second there, I got you confused with Strummer. I'm sorry. Man, if Monty had been signed a few weeks earlier, instead of Lashely, Monty would have been a better choice for the elimation chamber and could have added more hype to it. The Niggardly King 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2006 He has the charisma, and will probably do well with scripted promos. He's a subpar brawler, and only has two decent power moves, and one of those being the Alpha Bomb... which he can probably hit on someone no bigger than Helms or Michaels. Has a good enough look, and is totally different than Lashley. Brown plays a great fun babyface, while Lashley can play a monster face or heel. It all depends on what WWE wants to do with the guy. I'd like him on Smackdown, but that wouldn't work out too well. Smackdown is hurting for depth, but I can't see him doing anything on there. He'd be fine on RAW. He could be new ECW's first big over the top personality, but I couldn't see him doing well on the show. I don't think he, nor anyone else could work as the free agent gimmick I wish WWE would run with for a few months... which would be someone interacting with people on every brand, squashing jobber, and cutting promos before making his big choice at a major PPV. I say Monty lasts 2 and a half years. He'll get over, but will quickly get exposed by someone higher up.
Timmy8271 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2006 If they want Monty to be a good pro wrestler, They should stick him with Finlay and Regal ala Lashley and let him grow from there. But this is WWE, They want an entertainer so He needs to be on Raw. He lasts 6 months before the Schedule gets to him.

Twisted Intestine 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2006 Is somebody saying that Lashley and THE BOOGEYMAN have the same gimmick? Im so confuesed. Yeah, Coach too! Coach goes out to the ring and squashes people with his big power moves just like the rest of those people. At least The Rock is gone.
The Buzz 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2006 I was actually a fan of Monty Brown in TNA. He had a unique promo style that made you want to listen to what he had to say, and his matches were never the type to make me cringe away because of how bad they were. He'll do just fine if he works hard.

Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2006 and were also forgetting how over Monty was during his brief face run in TNA. then he was turned heel for a bizzare reason when TNA decided they didnt want him to beat JJ. but now, the casual wwe fan may have no idea who he is, and we know WWE will bury him to take a stab at TNA. But maybe since TNA is using their homegrown guy Angle in a big way, theyll use Monty similar to fight back?

Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2006 Does RAW really need him, though? I mean, they have Cena on top, along with DX, Flair, etc. I guess there might be a "big man" niche to fill now that Kane is gone, I suppose.
claydude14 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2006 Good, I hope they "stick it" to TNA rather than job him out; because TNA can just do the same thing WWE does with Angle or Christian- constantly showing him being beaten and jobbed out without mentioning it in video packages.
