Everything on my desktop

Recommended Posts

Literally, my screen went black for five seconds, then everything was huge. It was like in World 4 in Mario 3. Windows Help only led me to making the icons bigger, which is salting the wound. Help?

My guess is that your screen resolution changed somehow. Did you close out of a game before this happened?

Nope. Had an Internet Explorer window opened, as well as a second IE window with my email (through a third party, think Hotmail), into which I typing. Clear blue sky.

! best description I've heard for low screen resolution.

Not quite. Can anyone tell me, as an example, what their res is? Would it even neccessarily make a difference?

When I opened my start menu earlier, I was told to "make icons smaller", as they were too big to show all the programs listed under said start menu...anyone know how to do that?

My res here is 1024x768. I think most use 800x600. You can change that by going Start -> Control Panel -> Display -> Settings.

I only know how to make larger icons... Display again -> Appearance, and choose large icons.

I think 800x600 is too low for most Windows XP desktops.

I use 1024x768 on my regular monitor and 1440x900 on my 19" LCD HDTV/PC monitor.
