November Reign Feedback

Recommended Posts

Show is up in HE. Unfortunately the World title match had to be scraped, but everyone seems to have put a ton of effort into their matches. Having skimmed the show, it looks like a good one.

Yeah, I've been very very busy with family over for Thanksgiving and the weekend following it, so I haven't even begun to write the HI-YAH World Tag Team Title match. But don't worry, I'll have it done sometime between tomorrow morning and tomorrow night, all right?

Feedback~

The Heavenly Rockers are out to not just win the titles, but to MAIM~! But the Sooners survive, pulling out all the stops, and retaining. Good stuff.

The highlight of GPX-Bruce/Landon had to be Bruce's antics before and during the match. Another really hot match with a lot of teased finishes, which is always fun.

Guess the Gimmick Elimination Chamber isn't happening, either. :(

Really liked the Enterprise/Rescue 911 match. The Diablos were entertaining, and the commentary in particular took me right back to old school Survivor Series. Well done.

Fun little X-survivor match. "It" seems like an interesting character. Venom gutted it out, but the injuries were just too much. I thought that Kawada would wind up either overcoming the deficit and winning or coming close in the end, so the ending was a bit surprising, as well. Funny thing, as I was reading the post match, when Coach brought up slipping on a banana peel, my initial thought was that a banana was a handle for Ramone, ala Carlito and his apple, and that Venom actually did slip on a banana peel. Which would have been the greatest stretcher job in history. Overall, good stuff.

And a great, heated match as expected from Zack and Cortez. Both men pulling out all the stops in their hatred for one another, ending with a golden oldie from Zack.

MOTN: Zack Malibu vs Todd Cortez

LOTN:

COACH

These guys are quadruple teaming Ramone and the fans cheer?

COLE

Well… you got to admit it looked cool.

Probably my favorite PPV this year. Really enjoyed the old school Survivor Series flavor. Every team had a name! Cool touch.

The Five Burroughs vs. The West Atlantic Connection: To steal a line from after the first elimination, the action was "fast-paced." Reject came out looking strong at the end. A good follow-up to the kind of match the show began with.

Team Canada vs. Team USA: I was looking forward to this match the most and it didn't fail to deliver. Who says American's have short attention spans? Team USA stood there as the Canadian national anthem played. Maybe had they attacked then they wouldn't have lost the match.

Bruce Blank & Landon Maddix vs. the Global Party Exchange: Helluva match. Thought Maddix would take the fall, but given the stip I should've expected he and Blank to win.

The Enterprise vs. Team Rescue Nueve Uno Uno: The best out of all the Survivor Series elimination matches, IMO. Would be my MOTN but I don't want to seem bias. Excellent action and great commentary (I could actually hear Schiavone and Ventura saying their lines). Team Rescue Nueve Uno Uno's entrance was gold. Had me cracking up.

At this point I'm getting tired, so half-ass feedback!

The Space Cadets vs. Los Internationales: Fun match.

Zack Malibu vs. Todd Cortez: Youtube intro! Anyway, there's one word to describe this match -- intense. Worthy of the ME slot.

Match of the Night: Team Canada vs. Team USA

Line of the Night: "I don't know about any police badges, but Bosley's gonna have a badge of honour on his chest when he wakes up tommorrow morning from that chop."

“It” is an experiment in writing a character who does not approach matches like anyone we’ve ever seen before – which is hard because I’m so used to writing matches like we see them on TV and not like a guy who’s approach to it is so different than a trained wrestler.

I toyed with the idea of having Kawada overcome the odds, but I got a long term storyline for him and overcoming the odds like that wouldn’t have worked, I had 2 survivors just to mix it up a bit because like you said most people would expect Kawada to win or at least come very, very close.

And I was expecting to be on curtain jerking duties with the match so I was surprised to see it as the last survivor series match.

Now for a bit of feedback myself, I haven’t read it all yet just skimmed it but what I’ve read so far has been totally excellent.

Heavenly Rockers/Sooners – The Sooner’s grip on the titles remain strong although I there were a couple of times where I smelled a title change. Really good match

Five Burroughs Vs the W.A.C’ers – fast paced really solid action that served to solidify Reject as “the man to beat” in many ways, excellent.

Team Canada Vs Team USA: Unlike the Sur Series 97 Team Canada most of these guys are actually Canadian ;) (Jim Neidhart, British Bulldog & Doug Furnas as Team Canada? Go figure)

Erm.. back to the match at hand. Really good back and forth, the falls and eliminations really worked and made you hope until the end that Team USA would pull it off – only to be denied! Alfdogg has been SUPER strong since he lost the world title, I’m a big fan.

Bruce/Landon/GPX – No comments ;)

Nueve Uno Uno!! The entrance was high-larious and the match that followed was great as well. My only half negative comment was that the 4 on 2 advantage didn’t last very long – I thought the way they pinned Ned Blanchard was awesome, but the quick DQ only moments later was a bit rushed IMO – but that’s a minor, minor nitpick on a great match.

With the “emergency rebooking” *wink*wink* of November Reign I think the singles match was a good choice, the longest running angle (I think) right now, the first 1 on 1 clash of these two and well a match that was just awesome…. Even if Zack won it ;) a hell of a read, kudos to Zack for bringing another barn burner
