Enigma 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2006 MTV will begin airing episodes of "Wrestling Society X" starting on Tuesday, January 30th at 10:30pm both eastern and pacific times. There have been several incorrect start dates floating around the internet, but PWInsider.com has confirmed that January 30th is the correct date (although, this is MTV, who have been known to make sudden changes to their schedule). Obviously, this means the show will be going head-to-head with ECW on Sci Fi, which airs at 10pm. MTV has agreed to air ten episodes of the project, which will combine wrestling with live music performances by bands including Deftones, Good Charlotte, New Found Glory and others. The wrestling end of the project is being handled by Big Vision producer (and former XPW official) Kevin Klinerock as the head writer with Vampiro and Cody Michaels also involved in the creative end as agents. Talent being used for the project includes Ruckus, Vampiro, Sean Waltman, Jack Evans, Matt Sydal, Lizzy Valentine, Teddy Hart, The Human Tornado, Dragon's Gate stars Masato Yoshino and Genki Horiguchi, Colt Cabana, Jimmy Jacobs, Ricky Banderas, Aaron Aguilera (aka Jesus, Carlito's bodyguard in '04), B-Boy and others. Tapings took place last month in California for the project.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2006 Dirk Benedict: "Ladies and Gentlemen here is some emo band". I can't wait to see how MTV promotes this new spin on pro-wrestling.
RepoMan 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2006 I'd rather give this a chance than watch ECW at this point, but its stupid to go head to head. Put it on Wednesday, I miss wrestling during the Thunder timeslot.
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2006 Apparently: WSX gets 30 minutes each Tuesday night and ANOTHER 30 minutes each week on MTV's website of new material. The next week the website matches will be recapped on TV.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2006 The roster is eons above ECW's. A lot of flippy-floppy guys (Evans, Ruckus, Hart, Sydal (and rumours of interest in Pac, who's like a British AJ Styles), although they've got the greatness of Colt Cabana who can do virtually everything. And Human Tornado, with the best moveset in indy wrestling bar none. The actual concept might turn some people off, but hopefully it'll work out okay. Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2006 it's not in a 6 sided ring, is it? I know it's petty, but I still can't used to that concept.
RepoMan 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2006 I never got the concept either. I dosn't bother me, but I'm like do they expect me to think TNA is better because it has more sides on its ring?
