Feedback Thread For The December 21, 2006 OAOAST HeldDOWN~!

Recommended Posts

Mucho, mucho thanks to King Cucaracha for writing the Colombian Heat and Spanish Fly vs. D*LUX match. Everything came off smoothly. Thanks, KC.

I'll probably go into much detail later, but for now, let me just say that Landon Maddix is the man. Awesome, hilarious promo. Bruce Blank continues to be the biggest douchebag in the universe (the character, not the real Bruce Blank), and it's always nice to see PFL write a match again. I do wish he would become full-time again. I haven't read the main event yet, but it looks to be a good one.

Can't believe we got one more HeldDOWN~! to do and that's it for the year. God, it's gone by so fast. This was a good show this week. Normally, I say I'm looking forward to next week's HeldDOWN~!, but I'm actually more excited for the Angle Awards and Mainframe Monday then next week's show. Still, the last hD~! of '06 should be good as always.

Now, it's your turn. I hope.

That was the best Tony Brannigan, who sorta disappeared in recent weeks, has ever been written promo wise. Good job KC. Fun segment to kick off the show not likely to receive much feedback.

Mulligan vs. Wolfenstein: Speaking of characters who've disappeared, there was a Jock Mulligan/Lone Star Gunslingers sighting in months. A showcase for the Lone Wolf, and a good one at that. My early pick for 2007 Rookie of the Year.

O'Hara storms away from the GPX, who look on at their tipsy friend. Jamie goes and approaches a woman of questionable occupation, not exactly dressed for winter weather. As he converses with her, a police car drives by, slowing to a crawl to check out what's going down. O'Hara, angered that the cops are profiling him, starts shouting and waving his arms, daring the cops to come and get him. Johnny and Scotty run up and drag their friend away, but it's too late...the sirens are on and the cops are giving chase!

SCOTTY

I don't think this is what they had in mind when they talked about "dashing through the snow!"

O'HARA

Yes they did! Dashing through the snow from one whore's open legs!

 Favorite segment of the show. Followed up by a strong to-the-point promo from Cortez afterward.

Like EWC said, Bruce Blank was awesome this week. Great stuff. Much like the Brock-Deon feud I said I'd like to see, the same can be said for a possible Drek Stone-Bruce Blank match-up. Wouldn't mind seeing that one at all.

EWC's was on top of his game as well w/his work.

Heat/Fly vs. D*LUX: Some storytelling here. And quite the upset. Didn't think Heat/Fly would be an established team like D*LUX.

Impressive debut for the Royalty. I could see that team going places if they stick around.

Alf vs. Bo: Angle driven segment that turns into an impromptu match. A really good one too. Loved the Knicks/Nuggets line. Only fitting Alf would be the one to use it.

Match of the Night: Heat/Fly vs. D*LUX

Segment of the Week: Hooliganda skit.

I actually wrote the 8-Man. Basketball is the one U.S sport I can tolerate, see.

Anyway, another in a run of good shows. Hopefully it doesn't drop off too bad next week. The interaction with PRL seemed very real, kinda a side we haven't seen of him. Some nice segments with him. Bruce's match and promo were typically good as well, Wolfstein's being built up well and I was pleased to see his match wasn't a squash. Hooliganda is always welcome. As was the return of PFL. As a Kings Of Wrestling mark, I'd like to see some more of Wrestling Royalty. And of course, not forgetting Conquistadors/H.Rockers. Great commentary from BHB and a very disturbing visual to end. Just what we need more of.
