Any great memories of a particular spot/angle? Here's one of mine:

I think this took place in the early '80s in South West, but I'm not sure... the Spoiler was having weekly challenges and offering something like $5,000 to anyone who could withstand his claw for x-number of minutes. One week, a young Eric Embry accepted and it appeared that Spoiler turned back his challenge, as Embry was left thoroughly trounced in mid-ring.

As Spoiler made his way over to the announce area (which was probably thirty-feet from the ring,) he was informed that time had expired (or something to that effect) and Embry won the $5,000. With this realization, the Spoiler became enraged and said something like "we'll see about that." He then purposefully headed back to the ring, kicking over chairs along the way.

Upon reaching the ring, I think Spoiler grabbed a folding chair, smashed the still defenseless Emby in the head, and then re-applied the gloved claw. At this point, Embry started bleeding like a stuck pig. I'll never forget how ominous the whole scene looked as Embry's bleeding face appeared to be getting crushed by the supremely evil looking Spoiler.

The great thing about this spot was how - soon as Spoiler was informed he'd been defeated - there was an instant sense of foreboding and not wanting to be in Eric Embry's boots at that particular moment in time . Since Embry was still incapacitated, the anticipation of the beatdown was very powerful. It was a very memorable and very well-done spot. I keep hoping it will surface on You Tube, but no suck luck at this point.

Sounds intriguing though I've never seen it.

A couple that stand out was Jake Roberts' evil beatdown of Randy Savage and Elizabeth at TiT. Just as it appears he's going to walk away w/ little harm done, Roberts stops and unleashes a vile grin and slowly makes his way back to the ring to further the destruction.

The other would be Virgil bopping DiBiase w/ the Million Dollar Belt at RR91. A 4 year buildup led to a beautiful angle that would send Virgil into his only year of relevance in pro wrestling.

Paul London v Samoa Joe. Joe does the pull the tights into the turnbuckle bit. *long, two second pause* London throws himself on the turnbuckle and smaks the ropes for the sound. With Joe literally standing behind him.

Oh you mean good spots?

The finish to the blanchard / Magnum I quit match is entrenched in my mind. I saw it in the mid-90's, and it still blew my mind. Great finish, and great acting. The build-up is great, with Tully screaming SAY IT! SAY IT! And then Magnum just goes nuts. Loses his cool, and it looks like he will honestly blind Tully. And even after winning the match, he looks like he's just going to kill Blanchard.

The finish to Owen/Bret wrestlemania X is another good one. A great angle, and it's worked through the match. I've already commented on it but her goes again:

Bret's the older brother, and is going to win the match contested on even terms. However, Owen's nearly as good, and has that streak of viciousness. By the time Bret gets serious, he's already lost. He's both tried to not be tough with his brother, and then, in the last minutes, he condescends him. Owen rolls up Bret for a true shocker and the win.

Onita Funk: Exploding Cage match. I dunno the hell when.

Again, this is one of the matches I've posted about a lot. The match is pretty crappy, but pretty good for a couple of insanely tough old guys. It's all about the finish:

Onita has Funk laid out in the center of the ring as time is going off. He is pacing, visibly distressed. As it gets very close, Onita sprints to the ring to cover/protect Funk, with split second timing. Ring asplode. Complete hushed silence. You can see nothing. A gooddamn mournful guitar solo plays over the PA.

After the match: both bloodied and beaten, backstage.

Funk: I appreciate what you've done for me. But you never beat me. You'll never beat me. *walks off*

Onita:*one, sad tear.* Like the Indian who had his land polluted.

In a bit of an honor to the late Bigelow, I'd say the RVD/Bigelow TV title match in ECW. It was the moment when RVD did the crazy somersault into the 5th row. It made me literally jump out of my chair.

I particularly remember him putting Tazz through the ring. The fact that it wasn't planned, in his home town, was unforgettable.

Bammer Tossing Spike like 8 rows deep into the crowd like he was the weight of a football was pretty visually cool as well

My favorite Southwest angle is the one that got them kicked off of USA. Tully Blanchard has to put up his Southwest title in a match on tv. He picks Jobber Eric Embry. Bob Sweetan is on commentary. Blanchard then Kills Embry and bloodies him up. Sweetan does a promo with a bloody as hell Embry saying it's not right. Good stuff.

So how was that match originally supposed to end?

I have no idea. I'm positive though that the ring wasn't supposed to break in the Living Dangerously match.

I'm sure it was. I believe that's why they pre-taped the Sabu/Sandman match - so they would have something to show while they repaired the ring.

During the Tazz/Cole commentary of that match Tazz basically said it was supposed to break, but he hit his head on one of the beams and got knocked out.

Nova's promo that turned him babyface in OVW. He's trying to tell the Jersey Shore Crew about what WWE told him when he tried to get them into WWE but when it's not good news JSC tell Nova he hasn't put in the sacrifices or earned his spot, Nova goes off on them and gives an incredible and emotional promo about how he's sacrificed by missing his grandmother's funeral to wrestle on a show for $50 and he's sacrificed by the company he was working for going out of business and him being owed over $50,000. It's really great stuff and shows what Nova could do on the mic.

Austin backdropping Triple H from one broadcast table to another at No Way Out 2001. Here's Kunze's thoughts on it

"Austin backdropped HHH from the English language table to the Spanish language commentary table. That was a tremendous spot. I hate the generic table spot where somebody take forever to set up a table while the opponent sells forever. This kind of table spot is unbelievably awesome, and I even started to like HHH again."
