NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2007 My best friend has the early symptoms of Glaucoma, which is on the list for medical marijuana. Of course he moved to Texas, so he won't be getting any, anytime soon.
Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2007 Marijuana, were it legal, would be subjected to much harsher regulations than alcohol, I think. Look at beer: Alabama does not allow the sale of beer higher than six percent; South Carolina doesn't allow beyond five. Georgia only recently raised their cap to 14%, just a few years ago. In fact, it wasn't until beer production laws became less stringent in the early-to-mid 90s—thus allowing the microbrew boom of recent years—that you just could find beer in the U.S. that was higher than 6% in strength. Weed will go through the same thing, so you can forget competing brands marketing bud of varying strength.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted February 3, 2007 Right, but that's only initially, and like I said, at first I'm sure they'll sell it for less than $20/gram which is the standard price pretty much everywhere. Twisted Intestine 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2007 $20/gram? Serious? Here it's $10/gram... and that's $10 Canadian... Wow.. you guys sure are getting ripped off.
Man Who Sold The World 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2007 I could pick up an 8th of Kush for about sixty bucks. But I assume Canada should have way better prices than California.
Guest Macula Report post Posted February 3, 2007 $20/gram is fucking ridiculous.
The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2007 That is absurd. $20 per gram? I can get three for that price. I think, were pot to be decriminalized and sold in stores and whatnot, that wouldn't mean you could only get shitty weed. I mean, I don't think that everyone out there who grows weed is just gonna stop and go "Oh, the government is doing it now, I'll stop." They've already got the customers, customers already know how good their weed is, so I can see, at least for a little while, people still buying from their dealers. I suppose it would really depend on the prices invoved, though. I mean, the government would slap on taxes out the ass, plus assuming they had Pot Shops, there'd be an overhead for it and whatnot. And since dealers now wouldn't have to hide so much, and because they'd know they'd be in competition, they might even be able to cut prices. Depends on how much control they have over their own supply, I suppose.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted February 4, 2007 To be fair in Miami, I could get a lot more shitty weed for $20, about an eighth or so. But the standard price from what I know, and I've been all over so I know what we refer to as a "dub" is- $20=a gram. Could range from decent to really good. But yeah, maybe in Canada, it's just that drug dealers don't rip off their customers as much.
The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2007 I know this is a dumb question but...is selling by the gram common in the states, even though you guys don't use the metric system? I thought you guys only went by like, eighths or something.

Well, you sure as hell wouldn't want to regulate most Indiana women by weight, I'd imagine..
