Marijuana, were it legal, would be subjected to much harsher regulations than alcohol, I think. Look at beer: Alabama does not allow the sale of beer higher than six percent; South Carolina doesn't allow beyond five. Georgia only recently raised their cap to 14%, just a few years ago. In fact, it wasn't until beer production laws became less stringent in the early-to-mid 90s—thus allowing the microbrew boom of recent years—that you just could find beer in the U.S. that was higher than 6% in strength. Weed will go through the same thing, so you can forget competing brands marketing bud of varying strength.

Right, but that's only initially, and like I said, at first I'm sure they'll sell it for less than $20/gram which is the standard price pretty much everywhere.

That is absurd. $20 per gram? I can get three for that price.

I think, were pot to be decriminalized and sold in stores and whatnot, that wouldn't mean you could only get shitty weed. I mean, I don't think that everyone out there who grows weed is just gonna stop and go "Oh, the government is doing it now, I'll stop." They've already got the customers, customers already know how good their weed is, so I can see, at least for a little while, people still buying from their dealers. I suppose it would really depend on the prices invoved, though. I mean, the government would slap on taxes out the ass, plus assuming they had Pot Shops, there'd be an overhead for it and whatnot. And since dealers now wouldn't have to hide so much, and because they'd know they'd be in competition, they might even be able to cut prices. Depends on how much control they have over their own supply, I suppose.

To be fair in Miami, I could get a lot more shitty weed for $20, about an eighth or so. But the standard price from what I know, and I've been all over so I know what we refer to as a "dub" is- $20=a gram. Could range from decent to really good.

But yeah, maybe in Canada, it's just that drug dealers don't rip off their customers as much.

Which are weighed in grams by the more precise dopeslingers. Most of indiana measures by finger depth and smell. Women are similarly regulated.

Well, you sure as hell wouldn't want to regulate most Indiana women by weight, I'd imagine..
