Just John 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2007 I know the Mavs are at the top of the NBA class this year, but I'm disappointed the Rockets just bent over and took it tonight in Big D. Hopefully they can at least get the split by winning in Houston later this week. I guess it wasn't better than that Heat/Cavs game after all, though that was still pretty bad. razazteca 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2007 Dwight Howard posterized Tim Duncan to win the game with a sideline lob dunk as the buzzer went off.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2007 Hawks beat the Suns in one hell of a game tonight. Ah, the healthy Hawks. I know they won't make the playoffs, thus making my prediction incorrect, but that is because of injuries in December. It really is coming together. Now just fire the coach and get someone slightly non-retarded and we have something.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2007 I guess if the Pacers would start punching people on the court instead of in bars and strip clubs, our image wouldn't be so bad, and there wouldn't be instances like tonight where we shoot 30 less free throws than the Nuggets, as well as getting five technical fouls and two ejections. Allegedly punching people Alf. ALLEGEDLY. You honestly don't find anything a little weird about that story? But there was some pretty horrid officiating there. alfdogg 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2007 Well, you and I realize there's more to that story, of course. My point was when this happens on more than one occasion, people are less likely to buy the players' side of things and just assume these guys are a bunch of thugs. It's a double standard with the media darlings like Carmelo. "Sure, he's a young guy, he's made some mistakes, like refusing to go into a game, and twice getting caught with 'his friend's' weed, and the brawl in New York, but he's a good kid, we swear!" Ripper 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2007 And by the way, that finish to the Magic/Spurs game was one of the best I have ever seen. That was amazing. And JJ Reddick should get more playing time now, seriously. He played a great game, and has looked pretty good in spot minutes this season. Brendan Haywood and Etan Thomas get into ANOTHER fight. Its time for the Wizards to trade one of these guys, and Haywood would be the guy. Despite Thomas being the one getting suspended, I believe his story completely (that haywood was pissed because he didn't get many minutes in the game before and took a cheap shot elbow at him). Haywood is the one that continues to be all bitchy about minutes, so ship that fucker off. Trade him to Atlanta, they need a real center. Maybe you can get a quality big that isn't a bitch. ANd yes I realized that I just called Brendan a bitch and then suggested that he get traded to one of my two favorite teams, but hey a basketball need is a basketball need. And the Toronto Raptors...people...seriously...watch them. You don't want to see them in the playoffs.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted February 10, 2007 Kobe on Chris Bosh: "Everybody is going to be up there for MVP," Bryant said. "I think he's a legitimate candidate just because of what he's been able to do with this team, with this franchise and how he's performed. He made some big shots down the stretch. I love everything about him, I love his game, I love his work ethic. He definitely has my approval."

Just John 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2007 The Utah cheat with their holding and grabbing somehow manage to win again!! Amazing job by the Utah cheat!! I remember during their one national tv game this year, one of the announcers said that Sloan's defensive philosophy is be as physical as possible because the refs can't call all the fouls... But, I do agree with Ripper, you need another nickname. If it were Miami, then "cheat" would be ok, but for Jazz... Not so much.

Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2007 The Jazz have been doing this for YEARS. Since the early Stockton/Malone days at least. You would think that the refs would know that going in, and all it would take is calling fouls against them several times before Jerry Sloan would change things around. But I'm not worried because the Jazz had their best shot in 1998 (even though we all know that Jordan pushed off on the game-winning shot), and I do not see them getting anywhere near a sniff at the title.. The West is too deep and too stacked for them to make any serious noise.
Just John 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2007 Yeah, the Jazz will have trouble making it out of the 2nd round, and that's only if they get a favorable first round draw. No way the beat Mavs or Spurs in a series. Probably not the Suns either, but they have a better shot against them than the first two. I couldn't even see 'em going over the Rockets who would get just as physical, but would have the dreaded playoff superstar power with T-Mac and Yao. I'd give the Jazz a 50/50 shot against the Lakers, and they could probably beat whatever 2 lesser teams enter (Denver and the Clippers probably).
