The Pack is goofy as all hell, I think. The best part of it IMO is that is referenced when Xander shares his experience with Larry in a later episode, trying to get him to CONFESS to being the werewolf.

Well, Ranking.

#1 Season 3. Best big bad bar none. Lots of really good standalone eps. Also, For me, Oz was a really terrific part of the scoobies.

 

#2 Season 2. The great big romantic arc. Spike being awesome. The scoobies are all adorable this season.

 

#3 Season 5. This was just a really well-done story. Don't know what's much more to say.

 

#4 Season 4. As everyone said, great episodes. 'Restless' is the best Buffy episode, and one of the best episodes of anything I've seen. It alone, with 'Hush' thought I should put this 3rd, but the overall quality? Weak Weak Weak.

 

#5 Season 6. At least this season had a strong arc. And 'once more with feeling' is boss.

 

#6 Season 1 Quippy and fun. The characters are really cute in this season. Alright, I like this more than Season 6

 

#7 Season 7 Started strong and shit the bed. Way too much Spike, who had become incredibly lame. Way too many characters. Principal Wood? Yeah he contributed a lot.

The second half was really strong in Season 1 actually. The Pack, Angel, Nightmares, and Prophecy Girl were all solid to fantastic episodes with The Puppet Show and Out of Sight, Out of Mind not being that horrible either (and Cordy gets some good character development during OOS, OOM).

I think season 4 has the best stand alone eps but the worst arc. Season 5 has the best arc but is boring as stand alone eps. Mid season 4 is the peak of the series for me. At least for silly comedy eps which I love. In a row they had Pangs, Something Blue, Hush, Doomed then A New Man. You can't beat that!

 

The older I get the less I like the earlier stuff. The Angel/Buffy ship is too teen angsty and maybe it's just me but Angel being with her at that age is kind of creepy. I forever think of Angel like he is on his show where he is so much more mature. Past season 2 where he acts more like he's in his late 20's or early 30's. I mean he is the father of a son that is almost Buffy's age.

Angel's first episode is now airing on TNT, and I'm guessing it's all syndicated and orderly-like afterwards. I have neevr seen the show aside from 4-5 random episodes, most of which I did not view in full.

 

Highlight in the first couple minutes- Josh Holloway, AKA, muthafuckin' SAWYER~!

He was the dude shooting pool at the bar who then attacked the woman in the alleyway. Angel saved the woman from Sawyer and a couple other vampires, and Sawyer was the last to die after being thrown into a windshield and staked.

 

Maybe you didn't recognize him with short hair.
