Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted July 1, 2002 Going global is a beautiful thing. Now that my NWA has gone to global level after 7 months of production, everybody wants to sign with me! My upper midcard just got a huge injection thanks to the likes of Juvi, and now all I need to do is somehow convince Christopher Daniels that NWA is where it's at. When you go up market level, your entire roster seem to get some sort of percentage boost in Over-ness, so now almost half of my crew is over 80. Beautiful! Love...this...game... Guest chirs3 Report post Posted July 1, 2002 I created most of the SWF, then started a seperate game as the NWA. I didn't even think of this, but the SWF was playing on its own now! They rival the WWE at the moment, drawing the same 2500 member crowds and getting almost the same buyrate. No one from the SWF has been fired, but they've picked up quite a few of the WWE's firings. I've created a monster!

Guest wwF1587 Report post Posted July 1, 2002 I must say this game is dangerously addicting and alot of fun. I am doing a WWE and so far so good. Two ppvs down. Vengence with a 1.74 and SummerSlam with a 1.96 (!!). I have had to suspend HBK twice though for fights. One more and hes gone. HHH has been demoted to IC level. Hogan is retired (yeah!). My main angle involves Team Canada and the USA wrestlers. Its what I hope Vince would do with the angle he is starting now, but probably never will. This is the best game on PC I have played in a long time.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted July 1, 2002 Just had my 3rd PPV w/ WCW: 1.85 buy rate. Public image at 83%. Sting is in rehab, too. Some born-again Christian he is. Signed Vader, and stuck him in a feud w/ Flair. Teamed up John Boy Meyers & John Boy Corbett. Each of their over rating is 70+. Had a slight problem w/ Palumbo & O'Haire. I had them both scheduled for face turns, and figured I'd do it at a PPV. 2 weeks before the PPV I did an angle where Lance Storm & Mike Awesome ambush Chuck, w/ O'Haire making the save. Then the road agent tells me O'Haire's face turn was completed! Damn. Then, at the PPV, Team Canada wins & beats down Chuck & Sean, so I chose "Chuck Turns", however he instead hits Sean w/ a chair, rather than pull his face turn. So now he's a Tweener, & both guys over rating dropped. I'll keep them together & hope the fans & Sean forget the chair shot.

Its what I hope Vince would do with the angle he is starting now, but probably never will. This is the best game on PC I have played in a long time. Yeah that's what I'm doing. For Vengeance I'm going to have Jericho vs. The Rock, RVD vs. Test, and Christian/Storm vs. New Eliminators (Saturn/Kanyon). Then Jericho/Rock will be a No Contest thru interference, making the Summerslam Main Event Team Canada vs. Team USA (Rock/RVD/Eliminators), along with the co-main events, Lesnar vs. HHH and Booker vs. Angle for the title. Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted July 1, 2002 Doing WCW sounds like a cool idea. I'd probably do a "New Blood" WCW (no, not the Russo heel group, but using the crop of young stars like O'Haire, EZ Money/Jason Jett, and others they were pushing towards the end.) So, my questions are: How much money did you give WCW to start? Did you edit the worker's details so that you were able to sign them, or did you just wait for them to get fired (as most of the OVW guys wind up on the unemployment line, at least in my game.)
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted July 1, 2002 I gave them the same amount that WWE starts with. They've got AOL/Time Warner backing them. As for the workers, after loading up EWR, choose "Edit Data". Go to the workers and change each one that you want to WCW. Of course, you need to create WCW before doing that. While in there, I also created Nitro and Thunder, and assigned them to TNT & TBS, as well as the title belts. You'll also need to hire writers, trainers, medics, road agents, and refs, but you can do that while in the game before you hit "Next Day" for the 1st time. There's a bunch of those guys you need w/ high talent ratings (90+) just waiting to be hired, so you just need to check each one.
Guest Kingpk Report post Posted July 1, 2002 The July update is up. You can get it here.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted July 1, 2002 Agh! If you get the update, don't, don't click the Auto Booker! All it does is give you a card rating and lose you a show! Other updates seem nice, but shit. There goes my pre-PPV planning.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted July 2, 2002 Question- anyway you can transfer your old promotion to the new one?
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted July 2, 2002 Well i screwed up my NWA. I had a solid roster some good fueds and had just gotten a tv deal. I got all of this in a month and a half. Then Jimmy Hart gave me a offer to run XWF. Like an idiot i accepted. They are a richer company but they have a weak roster. Not only did i take over a weaker roster but i had signed alot of good free agents to NWA and two months into a game means you have shitty FA's left. The XWF game is still saved but i'm going to wait till later to mess with it. Instead i started a WWF game. The first day of the game i dumped alot of dead weight amounting to 30 guys give or take then signed about 20 fa's. I replaced all of the hosses with mainly lightweights and devolpmental talent. I kept Big Show, Nash and Hogan just so i could job them out then dump them. Then i worked on the titles. I combined the Euro and Hardcore titles and dropped the hardcore title. At some point i will combine the Euro with the newly created TV title and drop the Euro. I will be combining the Lightweight and Cruiserweight titles soon and dropping lightweight. I created Canadian Mafia and members are Jericho, Beniot, Lance Storm and Christian. Got a good start on rebuilding the tag division. Hardys won the belts off BillyChuck and i split up BillyChuck by turning Billy face then sent Chuck to OVW. Hardys are fueding with Impact Players(Lance Storm and Christian). Other tag teams: Al Snow and Maven: both are over and i wouldn't be using them as singles so i made them a team Backseat Boyz(Trent Acid & Johnny Kashmere): they are in ovw Brimstone(Sean O'haire & Deacon Batista): good monster tag team and i want to get O'haire over enough for singles pushes. Sean Casey & Chris Michaels: talented duo who was an existing team which is a plus. Dudley Boys: reformed them and they are heels Hollywood Blondes(Gunn & Chad Collyer): Gunn is nearly 80 over after turning on Palumbo and i want to get Collyer over. Island Boyz: In ovw Suicide Blondes(Derrick King & Jason Lee): talented duo with decent charisma and were an existing team. My main feuds are: Rock© vs. Angle (heat 100) RVD© vs. Jericho (heat 90) Booker T vs. Beniot (heat 97): will be over the newly created TV title at some point Hurricane vs. Xpac (heat 78): over combining the Lightweight and Cruiserweight Taka vs. Rey Misterio (heat 86): for right to feud with winner of Xpac/Hurricane. Hurricane and Rey will win Hardy Boyz vs. Impact Players (heat 80) Casey & Michaels vs. Suicide Blondes (heat 40): trying to get them over
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted July 2, 2002 Question- anyway you can transfer your old promotion to the new one? Yep. Just make sure you copy your old saves (8 directories in the EWR folder) into wherever your new version of the game is and replace the blank save folders. Hop right back in with a few adjusted features. The roster changes (i.e. Austin a free agent, Chris Daniels and The Wall with NWA instead of WWA/PCW) won't take place until you start a new game, but the rest of the features are integrated right into your old games. Guest Insanityman Report post Posted July 2, 2002 *Whirls finger* Go me. I got the updated version to work, I just auto-book ever other Heat... anyways. My cruiserwieght divison means as much as the Euro/Inter belt now so that's good. I bought just about everyone, got Austin back into the WWE. Pushed Raven and re-created the Flock. Snagged Vampiro, and every day I see if Psicosis is free *sighs*. Anywas, I sent Hogan back to school and then Undertaker no-sold so Misterio will whoop his ass pretty bad on Smackdown. Belts: World: Angle (feuding with Austin). Tag: Vampiro/Raven. Inter: RVD or Eddie, can't recall. Euro: Super Crazy. Woman's: Trish (feuding with Steph, and soon Molly). Hardcore: Raven, who's been constantly facing Bubba for it... gotta' stop that. (Nearly every other ECW star is in the Flock). Cruiser: Rey feuding a heel turned Kidman. Guest jimmy no nose Report post Posted July 2, 2002 Are you all using the new update for July? It has an auto-book option and you can have wrestlers book. Patterson seems to be the most consistent booker. His show ratings are usually around 65.
Guest Kid Kablam Report post Posted July 3, 2002 Why do I suck so much at this game? It's fun, but I just have no clue about how to aproach it. Nobody seems to be getting over, and my feuds don't go up much. How do I build up heat with out sacraficing a worker's overness? Also, what ratings are your cards getting? I consistently get in the 70s, is that any good?
Guest What?! Report post Posted July 3, 2002 Don't use the feud feature unless it's going to be a 3 month feud. And just have the wrestlers you want to push win consistently and they'll get over. Well, that's what I've been doing and it's worked. Maven's up to an 83 over in just two weeks. I've been getting cards from mid 70s to early 80s, but I don't know if that's good for WWE. Guest Insanityman Report post Posted July 3, 2002 What makes for a good card in this game? I've seen if the stats match up, I have the title defenses. Usually a tag match, a segement every three or so -maybe-.
Guest Nezbyte Report post Posted July 3, 2002 I'm running indies and i get 50/60's. With the WWE i was getting 90's. So yes, there's something you SHOULD be doing better.

Guest Insanityman Report post Posted July 3, 2002 Okay, first off... you'll know when it's updated. Also, CT it's rather simple, it does take a bit time though.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted July 3, 2002 How? What exactly is there in these updates?
Guest Insanityman Report post Posted July 3, 2002 Updated rosters, an auto book option, women are more open to matches (supposedly), manager buttons (all over the place), quick stats (very useful), you can have meetings every day. Also sponsorship won't freeze, and I can't think of what the last one is. Gah, thinking... hurting head, lol. Oh yeah, you can search in your roster, and search for chrisma in the other workers... and then in the roster on the shows they's a cruiserwieght and women's section. Sorry, don't mean to yell, just a bit frustrated at this game. I think my weak point is that the crowd is dead for most of my matches. How do you whip the crowd into a frenzy without having crowd favorites that drag the match down
Guest GoldustandBooker4Life Report post Posted July 4, 2002 Question... I downloaded the new update.. but the new options aren't working... I'm not getting meetings every day... and the auto book option ain't working... is there netin I did wrong?

Guest SpiritualRemains Report post Posted July 4, 2002 Be careful with the new update. It introduces a new bug where whenever when a fed goes out of business, it freezes the program when it tries to delete it, and will freeze every day until you buy that promotion. Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted July 4, 2002 Kablam, you need to build stars and put on good matches with wrestlers that are over. There are two parts to your match ratings: match quality, and crowd reaction. Crowd reaction is dependent on how over the wrestlers in the match are, whether it's a heel vs. face match, whether the match has been built up at all with promos or angles or feuds, and so on. Match quality is dependent on a wrestler's ability in Brawling, Speed, and Technical, as well as some consideration from Selling and Stiffness. It takes an average of the two: if you get an 80 in match quality and a 60 in crowd reaction, you'll get a 70. This way, a really good wrestling match can make up for the wrestlers not being too over, or vice versa. Obviously the ideal is to have really over, quality wrestlers facing each other, but you have to work to get that. Goldustandbooker, put the EWR update executable right on your C drive. When you install it, it goes into a subdirectory. If you install it from your EWR directory, it'll create another EWR directory within the original. Install it from C and it will overwrite EWR, and you'll have the update. You'll be able to tell as soon as you start it, because the info screen after clicking on the Jericho/Benoit picture will say version 1.1.
