UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 No real preview up yet... MOLINE, Ill. – Tonight, Raw will be airing live from The Mark of the Quad Cities only hours after the exciting events of Judgment Day. The arena is permanent home to the Quad City Mallards ice hockey team as well as the Quad City Steamwheelers arena football squad. Since opening to the public in 1993, this notable arena has hosted a plethora of sports-entertainment action. In April of 2005, Raw invaded The Mark of the Quad Cities and featured a Handicap Match pitting Triple H against The Hurricane & Rosey. Outside of sports-entertainment, The Mark of the Quad Cities has hosted Frank Sinatra, Aerosmith and the NCAA men’s basketball tournament from 1996-1999. For a look inside the arena, catch Raw at 9/8 CT on USA Network.
haVoc 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 Preview: Passing Judgment Day May 21, 2007 Raw steamrolls into Moline, Ill., tonight, with the court of public opinion still in shock over what transpired at Judgment Day less than 24 hours ago. On three separate occasions in as many weeks, WWE Champion John Cena suffered the Raw wrath of The Great Khali, falling before the behemoth’s colossal might. However, The Champ accomplished the impossible at Judgment Day, withstanding Khali’s vaunted power and becoming the only man who has ever made the leviathan tap out. Though bruised and battered, a victorious Cena heads into Moline still wearing the gold. But is the threat of Khali truly behind him…or will giant-sized retribution be on hand Monday night? Randy Orton took a major first step in refocusing his career onto a championship-bound track…at the expense of a barely-able-to-focus Shawn Michaels. After already dealing HBK his second severe concussion on Raw Monday night (the first coming two weeks ago from The Great Khali, who choke-bombed him through the announcers’ table), the Legend Killer orchestrated a pre-match attack Sunday night that made easy ring pickings of The Showstopper, whose indomitable spirit urged him to compete against doctor’s orders. The badly injured Michaels left Judgment Day in an ambulance, while Orton now heads into Raw with a revitalized agenda. Has he killed the legend of Shawn Michaels? Ric Flair, another legendary figure who appeared at Judgment Day, will face his former protégé Carlito tonight. Flair bested Carlito last night, can he do it again? In addition to feeling the fallout from Judgment Day, Raw proudly introduces the world premiere of Timbaland’s video “Throw it on Me,” in which the hip-hop megastar bumps and grinds with several of WWE’s hottest Divas. Watch a sneak preview now...on WWE.com Speaking of Divas, tonight the beautiful Candice will face Women's Champion Melina in a non-title Match. Does Candice stand a chance against the aggressive Melina? Be prepared as Raw raises the roof in Moline tonight at 9/8 CT on USA Network.

As the above photo shows, The Great Khali's foot was under the bottom rope as he tapped out to John Cena's STFU." -WWE.com

Scroby 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 You were correct except Sid/Benoit didn't lead to a tournament. GIVE KHALI THE TITLE. I hope we get an updated "Tell Me a Lie" video for Shawn tonight. I believe it did. Sid didn't get the title back as I remember. Edit: nevermind, I just read about the shitty angle. I must have been thinking of something else. UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 A couple months before Benoit/Sid, it was Sting attacking a referee at Havoc '99 that led to the Nov. 99 Mayhem tourney. Arn, after Sid/Benoit, took the heat and said Benoit's title win never happened. As a result, Kevin Nash awarded himself the championship, as part of him abusing his newfound power as Comissioner of WCW. Sid beat Nash for the title the next Monday on Nitro. Nash then stripped Sid of the belt the next night at the Thunder taping because Sid pinned the WRONG Harris Brother (Nash's leftover nWo 2000 cronies) in order to qualify to face Nash. This was a big Las Vegas Nitro that included Norman Smiley dancing with exotic Vegas dancers. Later on in Thunder, after Nash again awarded himself the title, Sid beat both Nash and one of the Harris Boys to win the title for a 2nd time, winning by submission using the CRIPPLER CROSSFACE of all moves. Yes. Sid. Doing that move. (Note: For those bitching about WWE 2007...imagine this happening in the span of a week or so...) - Cena beats Khali at Judgment Day 2007 via STFU. - Raw - Vince overturns the victory. - Raw - Vince gives HIMSELF the WWE Title. - Cena beats Coach and Estrada to get a shot at Vince. - Cena beats Vince for WWE Title. - Vince strips Cena of title because he made Coach tap out, not Estrada. - Cena beats Estrada and Vince in a cage match to win title.
