Canadian Brandon 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2007 Yeah...so I picked up this book at the library today. Anyone have any opinions on it?
Jingus 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2007 Yeah... pray it's not as depressing as Tietam Brown. (I haven't read Scooter, but after Foley's first novel, it left me with no desire to read any more by him.)
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2007 Aside from depressing, was Tietam Brown good?
SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2007 I personally thought Tietam Brown was outstanding, but extremely depressing. There are moments in that book that made me feel as if I'd been punched in the stomach.

Jingus 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2007 Tietam Brown was... okay. In dealing with stuff like school, girls, all the normal things a teenager deals with, it felt like Foley leaned pretty heavily on his own experiences growing up in NY. But all the weird shit with his dad is what threw the book for me, it was a combination of bizarre dark made-up stuff and complete empty-headed selling out when it turned out his dad used to be a wrestler .
