JN News Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 We all remember one of the saddest days in wrestling history in October of 1999, when wrestling legend and WWF Hall Of Famer, Gorilla Monsoon passed away at the age of 62 years old. My question is, what was the full detail of Gino's health problems that led to his eventual passing, and when did these health issues begin?
Steviekick Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 We all remember one of the saddest days in wrestling history in October of 1999, when wrestling legend and WWF Hall Of Famer, Gorilla Monsoon passed away at the age of 62 years old. My question is, what was the full detail of Gino's health problems that led to his eventual passing, and when did these health issues begin? Not trying to sound unsympathetic, but Monsoon's death wasn't one of the saddest days in wrestling history. I can think of a good ten off the top of my head. According to wiki, he stopped appearing on television in 1997 and eventually died of heart failure, so I'm assuming that it was due being so large throughout his life. I would also guess that he propably had some other cardiac problems, possibly high blood pressure, heart attack, etc.
Jericholic82 Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 I thought he had cancer? Maybe Im remembering wrong? but he looked really thin and pale at wm 15 (hi slast tv appearance)
Jingus Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Being as fat as Gorilla was can cause a whole mess of different problems as you get older: diabetes, kidney failure, cardio overexertion, the works. Could've been a lot of things. I don't remember ever hearing he had cancer.
Fartsauce Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 Go watch Wrestlemania XV during the Butterbean/Bart Gunn match. Gorilla is a judge and appears extremely thin. Seems like cancer to me.
Jaxxson Mayhem Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 "Marella died of heart failure on October 6, 1999. In a video tribute that aired on WWF television after his death, McMahon described Marella as "one of the greatest men I have ever known"." Wiki
