Tommy Young, as a ref, got nearly as much heat as the top heels when the NWA was in Greensboro every Saturday night in the 80s. He'd always miss Flair using the foreign object to fuck over Dusty/Steamboat to keep the belt. Looking back, it's unbelievable the kind of reaction he got from the crowd. Unless it was Hebner in Canada, I haven't seen a ref be as big a part of the show(unless scripted: Patrick, lil Natch) as he was without being at all involved in the storyline.

Wikipedia isn't the most reliable source, but Nick Patrick's bio says he hasn't ref'd a Smackdown match since February. Any idea why this is?
