Wrestling Deaths That Would (Might?) Get Mainstream Coverage?

Recommended Posts

Vince would get quite a bit of covereage I would think. He's the most recognizable name to the mainstream media. After that, either Hogan, Rock, Austin and Angle would get some coverage. The others would hardly make a blip on the mainstream's screen.

Hogan and Vince would get the most coverage, mostly due to their prominence in the business, as they've respectively become the biggest face and force in it.

Angle would be next, a little more than a blip due to him being an Olympic gold medal winner, followd by Flair, Austin, Rock and maybe Foley.

Rock is a Hollywood movie star. He'd get a lot of coverage but little of it would relate to wrestling. Same thing with Angle who is widely known for his Olympic background.

Hogan and Vince (well, maybe Austin) are the only wrestlers who'd get a degree of mainstream coverage. Sammartino and Flair had most of their success regionally and don't mean much outside of the wrestling community.

If Shane died, they'd play it as "WWE Wrestler and Owner's Son Dead", and make it sound like Vince killed him for the business or something. They'd show clips of him diving onto Blackman and being suplexed through glass by Kurt Angle.
