DangerousDamon 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 Is that new theme music for Angle? No, he's being using it since the episode of Impact where he held the Angle Awards. Trademarc, John Cena's rap buddy, does it.

RedJed 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 That match was incredible - Sting was supposed to block the Angle bat shot, ends up getting blasted with it in the face by accident by Angle (which I think opened him up hardway?), no sells it, and then fucking wins the match. Really fun match, even with the excessive running in by Nash, but the false finishes were good and just wow - fucking great match to end a really strong show, more thoughts later! I'm all for another nice 3-4 month run from Sting, leading to putting Joe over or something on the way out.
cd213 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 Holy crap. My friends and I just marked out big time for that ending. We didn't see that coming. Best PPV OF THE YEAR!!! Every match ended cleanly, all faces won, and Kurt Angle did a 450 SPLASH KNEE DROP!!!
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 Did Angle intend to do a knee drop? Seemed as if he messed up and just dropped his knees instead. That was a insane move for someone of his history to be taking. Fine enough main event and throughly decent PPV.
Canadian Brandon 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 Now hopefully TNA can build on this show. Last year around this time they were finally starting to produce quality tv but after BFG they completely fell off. Maybe they will have learned their lesson by now. That was a insane move for someone of his history to be taking. Fine enough main event and throughly decent PPV. I dont know if it was intended or not (Angle was wobbly on the top there so may have overshot it) but it turned out to be one of the sickest spots I've seen in a long time in any TNA match. cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 This was an excellent PPV, likely TNA's strongest of the year and it seems like whoever was booking at least finally cut down on the insane run ins and bullshit. Nearly every match had the proper ending with the right people going over (Sting winning, Styles/Tomko, Lethal retaining, LAX #1 contenders). The only puzzling thing is this tourney deal with Eric Young winning tonight.....I don't get what this is all about yet. The women's gauntlet match was pretty bizarre stuff, wish it had been either Kong or ODB in there with Gail at the end. I've made my feelings known on the Roxxie Laveaux gimmick (I think it sucks and it's bush league), so why not put someone a bit more credible in there at the end? Have Gail overcome the huge Kong to win, or maybe keep ODB in there to set up the first real feud of the division. I thought Christy Hemme was broken in half, hell she might actually be. But good lord, someone tell Awesome Kong to wear a different outfit. Seeing those tits was like watching a Big Daddy V match.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 I could have done without Nash's run-in, but I'm glad to know the finish was clean. Sting Vs. Angle, I've been waiting for this match for so long and I'm grateful that, for the most part, it was booked properly and we got such a dream match for a PPV main event with the world title on the line. Who'd ever thought a few years ago that we would see Kurt Angle wrestling Sting? Shit, it was only like yesterday to me that Angle called the match right down the middle as the special ref to declare Sting the world champion only for them, one year later at the same event, to be fighting each other for that very title. So the question is did Angle's DUI arrest play a role in him losing the title or was Sting winning regardless? Anyways, thank you, TNA! I'm very satisfied with what I got tonight and it could have gone either way, since I like both guys, but what a great, great finish we got! Dreams do come true. RedJed 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 Top to bottom, this was one of the best, if not THE best, TNA 3 hour ppv they have ever done. There was nothing really offensive in any of the matches, hell, even the reverse battle royal was quite acceptable overall. I liked alot of the finishes in the matches, and just about everyone on this show worked their asses off. The booking gave a feeling of closure in alot of these programs and the right guys went over. The crowd heat on this show was something else too, made each match even that much better, probably. Appeared to be the largest and most vocal TNA crowd EVER. Having these ppvs on the road does wonders to not just the overall feel of the product, but probably the morale of the roster too. Im looking forward to when each ppv next year is from a different location out of Orlando. Main event was all kinda good. Going into it, I didnt feel it was that much of a real buzz factor to the bout in the build, so it wasn't peaking my interest as much as I would have thought, but once it got going, it really impressed me how good it was. Made me remember how at one point or another, this was one of those true "dream matches" in wrestling and why it was. Way better than I expected, yet I imagined both guys to go out there and put on a hell of a performance, but nothing to the level we saw. The last ten minutes were really well laid out, even, as I cant believe I'm saying this, but the ref bump and the run-ins built the drama up even more positively (although I hate the spot when a manager/wrestler pulls the ref out of the ring right before the 3 count). Had legitimately been thinking the match could go either way which isnt typical with TNA run-ins and ref bumps in main events. The 450 spot as well as the bat botch made this match amazing to me and extremely memorable, which is hard to do these days in any wrestling match from WWE or TNA to me. **** Joe/Christian, another strong match for sure. Better than last month's affair, stiff match, Christian deserves a ton of credit for taking the spots that he did to make Joe look that much more strong overall. In theory, the two years of Christian never being pinned or submitted was saved for the right place and the right time here. Have alot more faith in the usage of Joe from this point. One of Joe's best TNA matches, sans with Christian. **** Monsters ball - this was the only match I really thought could have been a bit better, as it seemed like a very basic and chiche "hardcore match." The Raven bump on Rhino through the two tables was good though. But the ending was just flat considering how many times we have seen the glass and tacks gimmick. ** 1/2 Ultimate X - fantastic way to start the show. The crowd heat here was something else. Innovative spots, hard working, logical finish. Both teams looked really good here. *** 1/2 The women's gauntlet was perfect fodder to briefly showcase each of the ladies, which is best in small doses like this. Nothing really too bad here. The mixture of new chicks with the established ones made for a good bout. Awesome Kong's backbreaker on Christy was nuts. Right person went over here, all things considering. ** 1/2 The heat in Steiners/3D was something else, and I enjoyed the brawling spots in the crowd. Other than the botched table spot with Scott falling on it and it breaking right away, I enjoyed this match. ** 1/4 Lethal/Daniels was a fun match. Excellent finish with the lethal combo from the top. *** 1/4 Tag title match was better than it had any right to be considering we had a guy in there with no TNA experience at all. I say bring this guy in full time as a tag team w/ Truth. Pacman as manager is optional. *** Reverse battle royal - the goofy outside the ring fighting was too quickly done to lead into the normal battle royale. Rules were awfully confusing too. But once it turned into a normal battle royal leading into a brief match with Young and Roode, it was ok. Nothing horrible here, nor nothing that out of this world, but I liked how it did get alot of the people they want to push over a bit, like MCM, etc. All I thought was that the first reverse battle royal was way WAY worse than this. ** Overall, there is really nothing to bitch too much about this show at all, which is a rare things with ppv oversaturation. TNA should be proud for what they put out here. Right up there as ppv of the year with ROH Driven and probably WWE Backlash.

TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 I was at this show and all I can say is wow. I was so underwhelmed with the build that I wasn't excited about going all day, but that was an amazing show live from start to finish. The building wasn't close to being full, but obviously the crowd made up for by being into EVERYTHING. The building normally holds about 11,000, but with the stage, it was probably set up to hold 6 or 7 thousand, had they used the side beyond the cameras and the upper decks, but they didn't. The floor seats and lower bowl of the hard camera side were all full though. I guess there were 2500 or 3000 people there. Still, one thing I kept thinking about was how far TNA has come in such a short time. This was my 2nd live TNA event (I went to the 2nd anniversary show in Nashville), and this was light years ahead of where they were back in 04. When I walked in the arena, I felt like I did during all the Raws I went to during the height of the Attitude era. For as much deserved shit that we all give TNA, it really felt like a big time promotion was in town when I walked into the building. The biggest reactions of the night were for Sting, Joe, the MCMGs and LAX. Pacman by far away drew the most heat, with Angle coming in second and Christian third. I was really surprised with how over the Guns were though honestly. I love them and want to see them at the top of the tag division, but I really thought they were just over with Orlando. They were in a pre-show match and got big reactions, but I thought that was because they were the first guys out who'd been on TV. But even in the battle royal and when they came out for the tables match, the crowd was into them. The main event started slowly and the crowd was pretty quiet in the building, so I was worried that they might have been worn out from Joe and Christian's clinic, but Angle and Sting got them back big time. The fact that no other matches had run-ins (Tomko and AJ were stopped and the Guns didn't get physical with 3D) really made people HATE Nash getting in. The pop Sting got for the false finish there was huge and the one for the pin was even bigger. Also, Joe got the biggest non-"name" pop of anyone on the show. The crowd saw him as just as much of a star as Christian, Sting and Angle. Now if only TNA would... Seriously though, this was an awesome experience live. I don't know about their house shows, but if TNA ever brings a PPV to your town, GO.
