Guest JuanJoseNYC Report post Posted August 13, 2007 There are two championship reigns that come to mind, but they're both related to the old school NWA days. I'm sure that all of you WWE fans would go ACCCKKKKKKK!!! 1. Harley Race vs. Tommy Rich (April 27, 1981) Okay, it was a feel-good moment the minute Rich had Race's shoulders down for the count of 3, and it was a good rivalry. Not great, but good. But can anybody remotely explain to me why this title change should have happened in the first place?? I can't. 2. Ric Flair vs. Kerry Von Erich (May 6, 1984 - David Von Erich Memorial Parade of Champions) Wrong place, wrong time. At the very least, this change should have happened two years previously, yet Flair was always the one booked by the NWA Board of Directors to have a long reign as champion. And to be quite honest, God bless Kerry's soul and David's for that matter, but I would have had Flair go over Kerry with a backslide to retain and pay homage to David, then maybe drop it to Kerry for a short-term run. But it was nice to give Kerry the belt for 2 and a half weeks. At least, Kerry can say he was the NWA World Heavyweight Champion for a dozen cups of coffee, if he were still alive. edgehead69 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2007 Im thinking Goldberg should have never won the WHC at unfrogiven let aloine at all... his reign was SO forgettable (although 3 months is a long while), HHH coudnt hoold it through out 2003, why not give it to HBK and back to HHH... or RVD or Bokker couldve taken it, and lets not forget Kane
Guest RyechnaiaSobaka Report post Posted October 22, 2007 Undertaker should have retained the title after he got it from Hogan (with interference from Flair) at Survivor Series 1991. Hogan ended up winning it back at the "Tuesday in Texas" PPV that apparently didn't do so well. Threw the ash from the urn in Undertaker's face, that was that. It would have been nice to have Undertaker as champion for a while as this was during that period where it was impossible to hurt him. Jake Roberts slammed his hand in a coffin and he didn't even react (besides trying to get it out so he could beat him down), and this was in the lead-up to their Wrestlemania match. Somebody finally coming up to beat Undertaker (don't know off the top of my head who it would have been - maybe Luger could have come in as a face) could have made another legitimate star instead of putting it back on Hogan, and then vacating it so Flair could get it. But obviously Flair wouldn't have come to the WWF if he wasn't going to be champion. So if you have to put the belt on Flair, why not pull an Andre-DiBiase thing and have Undertaker give Flair the belt in exchange for having practically won the thing for him in the first place? We saw from the MSG matches that Flair couldn't beat Hogan cleanly, so why not have the Undertaker do it? Even if Tunney vacates the title, Flair can still win it back at the Royal Rumble, and probably makes it even more suspenseful. It wasn't like Undertaker was serious about the belt at the time; when he walked to the ring at Tuesday in Texas he was just carrying it in his hand. (I say all of this as a bit of a Hogan mark, so that should say something about how silly that little angle was.)
luke-o 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2007 The first one that came to mind was Edge vs Cena at the Rumble. It totally killed Edge's heat.

So you want a Von Erich to job in the main event of a memorial show for his brother? That would have killed the territory instantly.
Diamonddust 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2007 Not a title belt, but a title in another sense... Shawn Michaels getting knocked out early in the 1995 King of the Ring when it seemed as if the tournament was set-up specifically for him. To top it off, the Undertaker is pinned by freaking Mabel, who goes on to win the event.
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2007 Yeah, Kerry going over Flair was absolutely the right booking, no question about it.

Those fans would have definitely burned Texas Stadium to the ground.
