OAO 9/18 ECW on Sci-Fi Thread

Guess we'll get to see if Big Daddy V has conquered his fear of the supernatural. He hasn't quite been the same since that loss to the Undertaker in the casket match at IYH 5. Guess that tenure with the Ministry helped him greatly.

Wow, Boogey just got squashed there.

Maybe, if he wants to or whatever the hell's going on Cor Von will come back to tackle Big Daddy V.

Striker's already an awesome mouthpiece for V, he doesn't need to move to Raw.

So I guess with Booker gone from WWE, Boogeyman isn't much longer for the company?

Pretty much

Boogey's apprently still training at Booker's school and to be honest, Boogeyman has shown a lot of improvment, so I don't see a reason for WWE to release him, then again I didn't think the Sandman was going to be released either.

I'm not sure what exactly this big improvment in Boogeyman has been, but they can't release or suspend everyone.

The 4 way was a great match tonight. Why hype a lame squash like the main event and not hype what was actually a really excellent match? Dreamer has been a man possessed lately. Seriously, he's a better actual wrestler now than he was in his physical prime. With that said, they should have just jobbed out Thorn here and had Burke vs. the 2 Originals next week. Or maybe they figure it puts sympathy on the heel to do that. Now Dreamer can be the face against the 2 New Breed guys, go through Thorn, but then job out to Burke.

Thorn needs a new gimmick, and he would be a valuable asset to the midcard.

Thorne needs Ariel back.

If for nothing else, a mouthpiece. When he talks on the mic, he ruins his mistique a la undertaker when he lost paul bearer.

And the rules are really fucked up. Who really wants to win this match? Guys just don't want to lose. And that other poster is right. Why didn't they just triple team 1 guy?

I agree totally about thorn. Not sure why thorn doesn't get more praise than he does because I think he's got good potential and have so for a long while now. The crowd even got into his mic work a little. Burke was fantastic as usual.

One big negative about that four way is armstrong is absolutely the worst referee in the the wwe without a doubt. He moves around so slow, never seems to get emotionally attached to the action (if you watch refs, they normally do), and is too "quiet"...he's just there like a robot. I can't believe he actually got a ref gig because he's awful and a good referee improves a match. In this case, his slow reaction time to the action made the match worse imho.

Armstrong just seemed lost that entire Fatal Four Way match. He was pretty much out of place the entire time, it was like he had never Ref'ed that type of match before.

Until I thought about this I had no clue how it happened. How did Stevie Richards turn face? Was it defeating Thorn? Because I thought it was heel vs. heel. Also, when did the WWE let Stevie be STEVIE again?

The 4-way was a pretty fun match. The ref, however, seemed way out of place. During the sport with Dreamer and Stevie (I think) where they were doing a series of near falls I don't think he got a convincing 2 count on any of those pins. It almost seemed like he was winded during the whole match

I'm glad other posters on here came to the same conclusion. That's the first time I can remember I was distracted from a match by such a poor ref job.

Normally I kinda study a Referee when I watch a match to see, and here I tried to study Armstrong as well as I haven't Ref'ed a Fatal Four Way yet and he did such a horrible job there was absolutely nothing for me to study on what he was doing. If it taught me anything, it taught me how much a match can change if a Ref is doing a shitty job.

When was the last time there was a tornado four-way match in the WWE, though?

When have you ever seen a 4-way that isn't "tornado" rules? Off the top of my head, there was that 5-way WWE Title match just a few months ago..

I actually do the same thing in watching the referee but usually it doesn't distract me. I've always wanted to try to be a professional wrestling referee but with college and such I've never pursued it seriously.

I've seen plenty of 4-ways that weren't under tornado rules. And I completely forgot about that 5-way match.

Can you give one WWE example?

If you ever do get a chance, I say go for it. It's really fun and at the moment I'm actually considering on just being a Ref. I've also been training to become a pro wrestler for almost a year now but I've enjoyed Ref'ing so much now I'm thinking about just doing that.

Also, that tells me just how much of a shitty job Armstrong did. A Referee shouldn't distract you from whats going on in the match, unless there's a Ref bump and he's making some kind of count, other than that, for a match the main focus should be on the match itself and not the Ref but Armstrong did such a horrible job with that match, his Refereeing took away from that match and he did nothing special at all during that match.
