This Thursday will be one of the biggest nights in TNA Wrestling history as “iMPACT!” goes two hours on SpikeTV! The below is a preview of what you will see on the historic broadcast:

 

HUGE MAIN EVENT: “The Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe, The Latin American Xchange and Junior Fatu vs. “The Instant Classic” Christian Cage, “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles and Triple X!

 

Also on the two-hour event:

 

- TNA World Tag Team Champions Ron “The Truth” Killings and Adam “Pacman” Jones will battle Team 3D

 

- The Knockouts of the TNA women’s division will be in action as Gail Kim faces Jackie Moore

 

- A 10-Superstar Gauntlet to preview the “Fight For The Right” match at “Bound For Glory” with Robert Roode, “Wildcat” Chris Harris, Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley of the Motor City Machineguns, “Cowboy” James Storm, Kaz, Lance Hoyt, Eric Young, Petey Williams and TNA newcomer Jimmy Rave.

 

Plus, TNA World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle, the icon Sting, Abyss and X Division Champion “Black Machismo” Jay Lethal are all scheduled to appear!

 

All this and much more this Thursday night on the huge two-hour “iMPACT!” – plus more news on the Sunday, October 14 “Bound For Glory” Pay-Per-View extravaganza!

So we'll get another match of Killings working his BUTT off, 3D blundering around as usual, and Pacman sitting on his hands until he sprays someone or there's a run-in. Not that I begrudge Killings the work; he's a joy to watch, but this Pacman foolishness needs to end.

 

Why no X-Division title match for the first 2 hour show? Sloppy booking.

 

I swear, it's like TNA management is trying to experiment with how badly a show can be booked and written and still be on TV.

and lets not forget our first match on the 2 hour Impact is Rhino vs Black Reign not exactly how I would start my first 2 hour show, my hope is this Impact and next week's will just serve as a way to finish things up and post Bound For Glory will be a start of a new booking regime (at least I hope so)

That's how its been the last two years, with Genesis serving as the starting point for all the major storylines that take through LockDown. I wish they were having Daniels or Lethal in a showcase match though. There has been no push at all for their title match since the first week after the last PPV.

Bearing in mind, there not pushing this show to new viewers, the people who tune into this show will be the same 1.1 people who tune into each week. There not promoting a new show, there promoting the same show. I know thats not the way to look at it but thats how it is. People who didn't watch it aren't going to say, "Oh well, it's two hours now I'll tune in".

That's really not true. TNA going back to a two hour format for the first time since the weekly PPV's IS the reason I started watching their show again. I couldn't stand the one hour show where everything was stuffed into short segments.

 

And this is coming from someone that bought almost all the weekly PPV's.

I didn't buy the PPVs at all, but other than that, everything's the same with me. The one hour shows sucked ever since the end of BFG last year, and reading about all the last year's had, it hasn't exactly made me say "omg I wanna watch Impact". However, I AM watching Impact Thursday - the first time since the last Impact before last year's Genesis.

I watched a grand total of one IMPACT once it moved to Spike. Why, one may ask? Because at first, they were running a shitty show, on a shitty late night timeslot. I don't have time for that, I was finishing school when they moved networks, and I didn't have my DVR. Once I got DVR, I still didn't consider watching the shows once they got the 9 o'clock timeslot. I don't have time for one hour rush-jobs.

 

They have to put out a product worth investing my time in being able to watch. Hopefully two hours will do that, but even still, I'll watch it for a few reasons.

 

1. It's not the WWE. That is BY FAR the biggest reason and yes, the business needs an alternative. Both companies could be booked strongly. Emphasis on could.

 

2. It's wrestling that has the potential to feature exciting matches. There is no doubt this promotion could put high quality matches on EVERY SINGLE WEEK if they so chose. They wouldn't even have to use their high-profile guys to do it. Not the boring WWE style you see on USA and the CW weekly.

 

3. It's two hours long, and has a lot of guys I like on their show.

 

4. Their comedy angles are actually funny, and they keep them in the mid-card where they belong.

 

5. TNA's gimmick matches usually bring the quality, yes, they overuse them, but they're still enjoyable.

 

I watched Impact last week, and I'm going to watch it from now on, as long as they keep the 2 hour format. I only watched it last week to get reacquainted with some people, and the first half-hour was strong.

Ok, what the hell does Jim Mitchell have to do with Black Reign? Tenay and West have talked about Mitchell more than either Rhino or Dustin. Did I miss something?

Team 3D buries a few more of TNA's forgotten assets. So, their X Division champ looks like a chump by getting beaten up by some old overweight midcarders from the WWE. Ah, such a great start to their two hour show.

Damn, Jimmy Rave got kinda chunky. Also, the Machine Guns are the shit, but their outifts seem kinda like a rip off of London and Kendrick.

Gotta love the Angle stuff where he accused Sting of trying to have him arrested. Fiction becomes reality! Oh and that angle tonight with Sting's son was one of the more disturbing and pedophile type angles in a long while.

Who here thinks the booking team put more effort into figuring out ways for Pacman to get involved in his title match without touching anyone then they did with the whole rest of the show put together?

I'm watching it right now, taped it and saw a little here and there earlier. Overall I'm liking it, obviously things aren't as rushed as usual. I do wish they wouldn't show replays just a couple of seconds after a move in the ring, it gives away they knew it was coming when a big move is supposed to surprise the announcers and tv crew.

This show was nowhere near as bad as the spoilers made it sound. Less Team 3D and things look good, IMO. I can live with Pacman for a while.

Team 3D seem to be the only thing that the crowd in Orlando really really wants to boo at this point. So that's a plus for them.

 

Overall I liked the show enough. Better than it looked on paper.

 

That makes me have high hopes for next week...which looked much better on paper.

I don't know, other than the main event, I thought this was a bad show. Black Reign and Rhino was better than it had any right to be, but otherwise, the first hour sucked bad. I actually feel asleep during the gauntlet and had to watch the 8 man on tape. The pacing was much better than the 1 hour shows and you could see them trying to add layers to things, but the Angle-Sting stuff was bad and the Pacman thing is a joke at this point. Team 3D is getting heat, but at the expense of all the wrong guys. I really think they should book a revenge match between them and the Guns since the crowd hates 3D and loves Sabin and Shelley. The heat there would be off the charts, even if it was a big Impact match.

 

The 8 man was all kinds of great, but by that point, they had literally put me to sleep and I'm a guy who's been following them since day 1. I can only imagine what someone who was just getting to the party thought. It's a miracle that crowd wasn't completely dead by the main event. I think they had one hour shows that were better than this one, and it definitely doesn't compare to either of the two hour shows they did before (the one that Abyss-Angle last year and the one that had Jarrett-Rhino for the title in 2005). They just picked a terrible time to have a bad show. Hopefully next week will be better.
