Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2007 I think we can bank on seeing Saw movies for a while. Small budget, huge boxoffice
cd213 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2007 Well, looks like we can look forward to Saw 5... It was greenlit after Saw originally came out. After the success of thr first movie they signed on for parts 2-6.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2007 Much like the Friday the 13th series they are going to beat the Saw series into the ground until nobody cares anymore. I'm at the point now where I find it hard to care, I mean part 3 didn't exactly leave room for much else from Jigsaw.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2007 I didn't like 2 or 3, but that's a really good opening for 4. The public isn't sick it Saw yet
Craig Th 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2007 The movies suck, but the deaths are awesome. And which is why everyone sees them.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2007 Actually...the movies are pretty damn decent. Far better than your average horror fare during any time period. I'm not saying it's you in particular, Mole, but most people who hate the Saw series tend to like shitty horror movies, if any horror movies at all. I know plenty of people that completely look past the character build-up of Jigsaw and Amanda and all of the characters around them, and just see the devices as the draw. No. This ain't Final Destination or Hostel, there's an actual story here with character arcs that are not only surprising, but also decently thought-out. The future Saw entries are mostly going to be flashbacks, though, but I'm still excited for them. Saw III has been the best of the first three, so I'm looking forward to part 4. haws bah gawd 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2007 Want to talk about staying power? Look at The Comebacks. I figured this would bomb out of theaters during it's opening weekend, but it's now survived for 2 weeks. It's held a low position in the top 10 since it's release, but still. It's hanging on. MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2007 The movies suck, but the deaths are awesome. And which is why everyone sees them. As long as they can keep upping the gore factor and the deaths, you probably can plan to go see SAW 27 around Halloween of 2030 because idiots will keep going to see the movies for no other reason than those two things. the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2007 I think that is a nice bit of exaggeration there. If that was the case then why did Hostel 2 do as poorly as it did. That movie was really built on just the gore factor. The Saw movies are solid, why is that such a big deal? Just because it is a IV does that mean it should automatically have to suck. Sure the traps are neat, but if that was the extent of the film you end up with Hostel 2.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2007 what's wrong with Hostel 2?
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2007 That one I was bored by, as it was just ramp up the gore and make it chicks. Of course I really didn't care for the first one, so the whole series really never clicked with me.
Timmy8271 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2007 what's wrong with Hostel 2? It's better than Saw 3 was. I especially liked the scene of the naked chick bathing in blood.
