2GOLD 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2007 Must be nice being LSU. You fail twice to remain in the title game but the voters like your conference and the fact they all picked you at the start to BE in the title game so they are going to make damn sure they do everything possible to make sure you get a THIRD shot to win it all. Absolutely pathetic.
Danville_Wrestling 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2007 Isn't it entirely possible that we could get a split national champion if Ohio State loses in the BCS title game and the AP poll has a different #2 than LSU?

Bored 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2007 AP Poll National Champion is the equivalent of "World's Greatest Grandpa" since it left the BCS. Edit: And LSU is #2 in the new AP poll so won't matter anyways.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2007 Sagarin ratings are out: ________________________________ College Football 2007 through games of December 1 Saturday the BCS uses the ELO_CHESS from here HOME ADVANTAGE= 2.59 RATING W L SCHEDL(RANK) VS top 10 | VS top 30 | ELO_CHESS | PREDICTOR 1 Oklahoma A = 92.58 11 2 70.34( 59) 2 0 | 3 1 | 89.47 3 | 96.27 1 2 Ohio State A = 91.32 11 1 70.32( 60) 0 0 | 2 1 | 89.01 4 | 93.64 3 3 Kansas A = 90.29 11 1 65.42( 88) 0 1 | 0 1 | 88.72 5 | 91.60 6 4 Florida A = 90.22 9 3 75.74( 9) 0 2 | 2 3 | 86.26 12 | 95.52 2 5 Virginia Tech A = 89.69 11 2 73.00( 36) 0 1 | 2 2 | 93.11 1 | 86.82 11 6 LSU A = 89.47 11 2 74.86( 21) 2 0 | 4 2 | 91.09 2 | 87.73 8 7 West Virginia A = 89.34 10 2 72.71( 42) 0 0 | 2 1 | 86.38 11 | 92.64 4 8 Southern California A = 88.22 10 2 73.66( 32) 0 0 | 2 1 | 86.78 9 | 89.36 7 9 Missouri A = 87.98 11 2 74.77( 24) 1 2 | 3 2 | 88.58 6 | 87.04 10 10 Georgia A = 86.70 10 2 74.14( 30) 1 0 | 3 1 | 88.28 7 | 84.97 14 ....and this is the first year that the "no margin of victory" clause for the computers causes the best team to be left out of the title game. Oklahoma's the best team in the country and if the computers were allowed to factor in that they decimated Missouri along with most of the Big XII South while LSU won 5 games by a TD or less, it would be enough for OU to pass LSU despite the Tigers being #2 in the polls. As is, the 2nd and 4th best teams will battle it out for the crystal ball with the 4th best having home advantage while the best team in the nation plays either a team from their own conference or an also-ran from the Pac-Ten. Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted December 2, 2007 I think that Oklahoma's loss was the least embarrassing of all the top contenders'. They definitely do deserve to be in the national championship game. Bring back Dama!

Well they're no Appalachian State, but Colorado isn't a terrible team. However, the loss to Texas Tech should keep them out. It looks like it's going to be Ohio State-LSU in the national championship game, making those losses they had to unranked teams ultimately irrelevant. Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2007 Following the loss to Virginia Tech yesterday, Boston College is falling all the way to the Champs Sports Bowl. The Chick Fil-A has chosen Clemson, and Virginia vs. Texas Tech was just confirmed for the Gator. Sorry, Matty Ice!
Bored 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2007 A few others confirmed: Kentucky vs. Florida State in the Music City Bowl, Oklahoma State to the Insight Bowl, Mississippi State to the Liberty Bowl, and Alabama to the Independence Bowl which officially eliminates South Carolina from bowl consideration. Edit: Arkansas to the Cotton Bowl. The SEC pretty much is set as beyond something bizarre happening it'll be Florida in the Capital One, Tennessee in the Outback, and Auburn in the Chick-fil-A. Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted December 3, 2007 From possibly playing in the National Championship to playing in the Sun Bowl against South Florida. Yuck. Oregon will probably get killed there, too. Man, that team just totally fell apart without Dixon. Florida v Michigan will be a good game.

MFer 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2007 Looking at the matchups, the Big Ten could potentially get beatdown this bowl season. EDIT: After looking at it closer, most of these Big Ten teams are playing basically true road games (not that it would matter).
Bored 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2007 One change from what I posted, Michigan State is going to the Champs Sports Bowl and Purdue is going to the Motor City Bowl.
