Guest jama Report post Posted June 20, 2002 Well i'm glad he is back. First off he loves to push new talents, with him in benoit, eddy, rvd etc will get pushed. THe guy is very creative and if he builds characters and heymen book the matches I think the product will be better than it's been for a long time.
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted June 20, 2002 *a teardrop falls from my eye as I come to the realization that there will not be any **** matches from the wwf for the next 12 months*
Guest Frankie Williams Report post Posted June 20, 2002 You know this whole Austin situation has Russo written all over it. I know im just thinking crazy.

I'm not going to deny that he doesn't push new talent... he does... but did you see his reign in WCW? Horrible. New Talent Getting Pushed + Bad Storylines = It Still Sucks... Although, I did find the Kidman/Hogan feud amusing.
Guest HHH's 'Roid Needle Report post Posted June 20, 2002 Anybody got that picture of the Indian from the 70's or 80's with the single teardrop falling from his eye? Post that. That's what I feel like right now. All the garbage that's gonna be around WWF TV, ugh. Back to 30 second matches, 5 times the run-ins, swerving, SHIT-TY PAY PER VIEWS! Guest Ripper Report post Posted June 20, 2002 Ahem...just to be different. THis can't be the worse thing to happen. Russo was a very competant writer when he was being held in constraints by McMahon, he only came up with the horrid stuff when he had free range to do what he wanted. Lets remember who the creative force behind the Attitude era(well, the one that didn't own his own little wrestling company) Russo, with the right restraints on him, will be a good thing for the WWE. Guest converge241 Report post Posted June 20, 2002 oh..my..god i just realized something worse than the return of Russo the writer.. RUSSO THE ON-AIR CHARACTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Guest HHH's 'Roid Needle Report post Posted June 20, 2002 The creative force behind the Attitude era was Steve Austin, in my opinion. No Austin, no wrestling boom. You can get butthole naked bitches all over TV nowadays, no need to watch WWE and have some hillbilly, a king, a queer, and a fake Brooklyn thug all screaming while you watch it. No Austin, no Era. Screw Russo.
Guest HHH's 'Roid Needle Report post Posted June 20, 2002 Converge, I think you're right. So now we'll get the Vince 20 minute interview, the Russo 20 minute interview, the HHH 21 minute interview, and the Undertaker Match Of The Week. Oh yippee!
Guest Prince Paul Report post Posted June 20, 2002 I guess we can kiss Russo's "tell all" book goodbye, huh? Oh my...ye gods, what have we done to deserve this. Hey this whole Austin walking out/wifebeating thing sounds like a Russo idea to me. Before you flame me, I know it's a shoot. But just adding Russo's name next to that equation makes it interesting. At least Bob Holly was kinda funny for a month with the "Big Shot" character. Right? Right????!!!
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted June 20, 2002 oh..my..god i just realized something worse than the return of Russo the writer.. RUSSO THE ON-AIR CHARACTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guest converge241 Report post Posted June 20, 2002 to the person who took the other side and pointed out he will filter through vince..here's a scenario Russo: "i want to do this" Vince: "no" Russo "ok ill just quit and publish my book" Vince:" .............ok well do it" russo is a writer who can add to a good foundation, he is not they type for saving a company on a downswing see WCW AND SEE WCW AGAIN!!!!(the second russo era) personally i loved his stuff when WCW first got him but i never saw how it was going to draw money.. the guy writes to people like us - diehard/internet/smart-smark fans.. but WERE ALREADY WATCHING THE DAMN THING!! he has lost whatever he once had to catch "joe public's" interest. so help me if he comes out and gives some swervy smart interview that goes over most of the audience's head the ratings will be half of what they are now. Guest BookerTman Report post Posted June 20, 2002 Russo? Oh lord. He did push my main man Booker T in WCW(after the Book was in the MIA as GI Bro *ugh*), but I really hate this guys writing. I hope he isn't Head Booker. And the guy hates wrestling. He's all about run-ins, bad skits, interviews and bad gimmicks. Wait a minute...well, match times might be cut down anyways... Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted June 20, 2002 Well on one hand he'll push new stars. On the other hand there will be a million forgotten storylines, titles will be passed around like weed at a Led Zeppelin concert, and matches will suck.
Guest Prince Paul Report post Posted June 20, 2002 Russo's probably scrapping half of the storylines right now as we speak!
Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted June 20, 2002 This further proves my theory that Vince Russo went to WCW to run it into the ground, so Vinnie Mac could buy it. Russo's has had some good ideas, but its better when someone screens them, like Vincenzo.
Guest Frankie Williams Report post Posted June 20, 2002 What if Jeff Jarrett send Russo to the WWF to destroy it?
Guest converge241 Report post Posted June 20, 2002 titles will be passed around like weed at a Led Zeppelin concert, lol. dont foget about all the montreal screwjobs!! (not that big vince ever let it go, but now it will be in overdrive : Hebner will get the hardcore title and be his own ref and never count his own shoulders down. Trish will lose the womens title to Brock due to the mechanations of big vinve, little vince, big show, lillian garcia , and a barber shop quartet.)
Guest Prince Paul Report post Posted June 20, 2002 What if Jeff Jarrett send Russo to the WWF to destroy it? Russo will be canned before he puts WWE out of business, but the damage will surely be done.
Guest wolverine Report post Posted June 20, 2002 People are panicking too quickly. It's not like he's got full control like in WCW. He still has to answer to McMahon, no matter what. Basically, if he can write an entertaining TV show, like he did from 1997-1999, I'll watch. If it's the same bullshit guys like HHH and Hogan being pushed, screw him.
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted June 20, 2002 The good: Possible pushes for Benoit, Eddy, Booker, RVD, Goldust, The Cruisers, Developmentals (O'Haire, Jindrak, Sanders...all Russo friends) McMahon will have a hold on him, just like he did during the Attitude Era. Use Hogan to put over younger stars (Go Kurt Go!) The bad: Rumors had Eric Bischoff coming in as a figurehead WWE commisioner, sorta like Jack Tunney. Please DEAR GOD do not let this be Russo. If he's still friends with Michaels and Nash, then I fear the worst. Next girl that Vince has sex with: Stephanie Heyman's not gonna like this... Speaking of which...they couldn't just give the reigns to Heyman, not even for a month, but they go and rehire RUSSO? Thankfully, the NWA show was fairly good, so at least I'll have some alternative. And is it just me, or don't you think Russo only got signed so that he couldn't help the NWA develop into a legit threat?

Guest converge241 Report post Posted June 20, 2002 now two people who were on opposite sides of a lawsuit are working together!! hogan and russo whatever happened with that anyway? i thought time warner lawyers wouldnt let Russo work somehwere until it was over because they were footing the legal bills.. Guest Prince Paul Report post Posted June 20, 2002 It's not going to be any worse than it already is. You people are way overreacting. If you think there's too many run ins and title changes now, wait until 2 months go by. Vinnie Mac better have Russo in check. My head hurts just thinking about all this. Guest cartman Report post Posted June 20, 2002 Ok how bout this scenario boys and girls. Vince McMahon lets Russo go to WCW....Russo has only one objective, Kill WCW. Mission Accomplished! Think about it. I hate to be a conspiracy theorist but it makes sense. When Russo was working for the WWF they were the best show on tv with exception of my personal little secret pleasure ECW. Russo was the main reason for the WWF always beating WCW in the ratings during the "Attitude Era". So why not let him go to WCW making them think that they stole the best writer in the biz to help push WCW over the top...They did have extremely talented wrestlers but no good writing AT ALL. Even WCW Marks have to admit that most of the writing before the Russo/WCW Era were bad as it was. Russo shows up and trys to throw his style in, but just made things worse on purpose because #1 Those wrestlers mostly didnt want to work on a vulgar WWF type show, and #2 succeeded at making WCW a huge joke to the wrestling community. Now what heppens? Russo got some time off for his job well done, and Vince got guys like Booker T, Ric Flair, Billy Kidman...etc. without having to try and coax them away from WCW. Russo Killed WCW for Vince, now he's resuming his position in the company that has been paying him since day one. Just my opinion and I thought I would throw it out to you. Think about it at least.
