Russo Returns

Gee whiz, you people are acting like this is the end of the world as we know it.

Look, I wasn't Russo's biggest fan. But I have to admit that the WWF from 1997-99 was entertaining.>>>

Again, the blinders of history strike.

Shall we go into his angles?

Beaver Cleavage? Remember that?

Meat?

Kane v UT (explain THAT one away)?

The Higher Power?

Shane as Euro Champ?

Vince as World Champ (either one, either promotion)

Henry as a sex addict?

And that's just off the top of my head. WWF in 2000 was INFINITELY better.

<<<And the one thing Russo did was write for everyone, not just the main eventers.>>>

But he didn't write WELL for them.

<<<Under Russo's tuttelage, everyone in WWF had a storyline or angle.>>>

But they were BAD angles.

<<<And like someone said, under the guidance of Vince, his writing should not be horrendous the way it was in WCW.>>>

If he needs tons of editors, they don't need him.

<<<Heck, maybe Russo will convince Vince to push Albert.>>>

I doubt it. Russo never cared to when he was there.

-=Mike

As long as Paul Heyman, Hulk Hogan, Stephanie McMahon, and HHH are still breathing, Russo will never have the final say in creative matters. There are WAY too many people who saw or remember one or both of Russo's reigns in WCW that work for the WWF, especially top people like Jim Ross (who must be ready to kill both Russo and Ferarra for the "Oklahoma" gimmick), that will try to get some payback on him. These are good because that will limit the damage he can cause. Now I would love to see Russo and Hogan meet face-to-face after what happened at Bash at the Beach 2000 between them. As long as Russo's wilder ideas get kept in tight control, the harm he will cause should be minor.

TV's going to get even worse than it is already. No one should start mourning the end of wrestling by any means. If there's a pool to start, it should be "How long before Russo gets turfed?" My call is sometime around Unforgiven after Summerslam tanks.

Someone better check the weather report, I think hell is about to freeze over!!!

After the altercation with Ed Ferrar, I hope they keep Jimmy Cornette out of Stamford for awhile. If you have seen the RF shoot you will know why.

Well I just thought that I would give my opinion on the return of the mighty Vince Russo. I kow that most of the guys and gals on the board hate the guy but I think it could help the WWE. The WWF in 1998-1999 was quite entertaning as far a story lines go but the matches sucked. So what Vince needs to do is make sure that Russo is writing the story lines (with his approval we don't a repeat of WCW 2000) and get in someone else to deal with the actual matches. Anyway, just an opinion. By the way, does anyone know if Russo is the head booker, will he be booking any of KOR and which show will he write for?

it was the russo era that got me hooked on wrestling, and if he can do again to the midcard what he did in the wwf last time he was there, i will be a happy man. also his hogan hate counts for an awful lot with this particular smark.

Why does wrestling always need to look to the past? Russo had good ideas in 97-99. I cant imagine his writing being any different. This is clearly a panic sign, the WWF needs to build at the moment and give the writers time. Heyman and Gewertz were given two weeks. Ratings dont go up over night, it takes a long time and lots of patience.

WWE and patience?? These are 2 things that don't go together my friend.

I think the most important thing here is that Russo keeps himself OFF my TV screen. He can write all the storylines he wants in the back, but we don't need Russon the on screen character back. Vince McMahon is enough. If they want another on air character, they can bring back Bischoff, who was much more entertaining than Russo anyway.

And no, this is not the end of the world and whoever said it was is probably being sarcastic. WWE will not fall under Russo. It may decline, but they won't go out of business.

And yes, TheMikeSC, 2000 was MUCH better than any Russo period.

To those of you who think Russo will kill the WWE

FUCK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would you asses rather have daddies little girl as head writer? I am HAPPY he is back, remember his days in WCW where Vampire was actually GOOD, where Vampiro broke a fucking tombstone over Stings head and when Vampiro set Sting on fire and threw him off the Jumbotron (or whatever WCW called it) Russo was GOOD for the WCW but those jerks fired him thus the failure of WCW

Okay then.

You thought Sting vs Vampiro (not "Vampire" a you'd like to remember) was good? The stunt double off the jumbotron...yeah, that's uh, good TV.

For a MORON!

And Daddy's little girl isn't going anywhere just because Russo is back. I'd much rather see her on screen than him (I know I might be the minority there but at least I can look at her, Russo looks like a rat.)

russo can stay the fuck off my tv. and the only reason i will accept steph is if she is dancing naked in a soundproof glass cube.

let them have their little powerstruggle in the back, but we all know vinnie roo is doomed to fail, and as we all know, blood is thicker than water, especially in the mcmahon-centric wwe.

Probably. ;)

And I don't think Vampiro was ever interesting or even remotely talented. I especially didn't need to see that stupid feud he had with Sting. Ooh, he's so shooty, calling out Sting by his "real" name. Way to grab those 2 or 3 Internet marks who actually give a rat's ass about you, "Ian".

Oh yeah, and he's so down with ICP. That's a real feather in his cap, eh?

Don't even get me started on that flaming Jumbotron fiasco.

Guest Smell the ratings!!!

Is it too late to change my name to "This is real life, fans."?

I will gladly welcome back Russo just to see his infamous WrestleCrap.

Billy and Chuck in a Rico on a Pole match? Well, guess what....it could fucking happen!

I also await the stories about how he and Hogan just spend the whole show backstage trying to give each other icy glares. I also want to see what happens when Russo and Vince/HHH/Steph disagree on something.

My point exactly. The last thing the WWE needs is Vince Russo in screen with his bad promo skill and that accent. AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!
