Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2008 My prediction of the final standings were off, but if you read my comments the thinking process was right on. At least I got the following right: - Angels would run away from the worst division in baseball - Rays would play meaningful games in September - AL East would produce four the six best teams in the AL - Cubs and Brewers would be title contenders - Detroit would disappoint
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted September 30, 2008 NL West: San Diego, LA Dodgers, Arizona, Colorado, San Francisco Really good division here. Yeah, I actually made some surprisingly good predictions- even thinking that the Rays might take as high as 2nd place in the AL East, which is more credit than anyone else here gave them. Aside from my total homer pick of Colorado in the NL West, I got the rest of the division correct, and I knew the Phils would win the NL East since I figured the Mets would just collapse at the end of the season again. The only division I had absolutely no clue on was the AL Central, but that's because that's of the absolute least interest to me- being a NL fan on the west coast, and of course being aware of the AL East, I pay about as much attention to that division as I do to the AFC North in football. Smartly Pretty 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2008 I was pretty close, though, al, with Tampa. Am I the only one who had them in the playoffs?
KingPK 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2008 AL East: Tampa Bay (until they actually put this whole thing together, I'm not buying it) Guess they did. AL Central: Cleveland Detroit (WC) Minnesota Chicago Kansas City Notes: Why Detroit for the Wild Card? More bad teams to beat up in their division than the Yankees. I didn't think Detroit would end up being one of those bad teams.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2008 Hits: Blue Jays finishing fourth in the AL East Angels running away with the AL West Seattle being drastically overrated (I actually still overrated them) Cubs win the NL Central, Brewers win the wild card Yankees missing the playoffs Misses: Rays being a year away White Sox finishing last in the Central Tigers and White Sox still being good Braves finishing high in the standings Dodgers finishing third
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted September 30, 2008 I also thought the Rays were about a year away, it's really been quite an incredible run. I hope the Cubbies or someone else stop them short, though (I could give a shit about any other team in the AL).
Prophet of Mike Zagurski 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2008 After looking at most of the picks, a lot of you had the Tigers in playoffs. Very interesting.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted September 30, 2008 Yeah, I have no idea about the AL Central. I had the White Sox finishing below the fucking Royals.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2008 My World Series prediction was Atlanta beating Detroit, that's about as wrong as you can get.
treble 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2008 I usually don't make predictions and that's good, because I'd probably have been off on just about all of them this year.
