USC Wuz Robbed! Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 Yeah Alkeiper had to tell me that you guys are just excited to see an one night tourney. So just forget what I said.
Matt Young Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 My wish list: Kennedy Finlay MVP John Morrison Shelton Benjamin Paul Burchill The Miz Santino
The Niggardly King Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 Hey, this could be used to get Eljah Burke back on track! ...
Hawk 34 Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 Someone needs to do a promo putting over the importance of the KOTR and the legacy of former winners in The Hart Brothers, Austin, HHH, Edge, Lesnar and especially Mabel and Mr. Ass.
Lil' Bitch Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 Maybe HBK can finally get that KOTR win. Ugh, why does Kennedy get so much love around here? He's one of the best heels they got.
El Psycho Diablo Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 Ugh, why does Kennedy get so much love around here? Is it because he does that lame gimmick of saying his name twice? He sucks in the ring, he's not very good on the mic and there isn't anything distinctive about him. The IWC has this habit of latching onto guys that are just bland.
Hawk 34 Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 In this particular instance it was simply a case of assumption rather then expressing desire because of the fact Kennedy is in dire need of direction and that is something a KOTR win can offer him. Kennedy fanaticism has waned severely since last spring and has been surpassed by other talents who have shown more signs of potential or merit.

MarvinisaLunatic Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 They obviously pulled the list of wrestlers off when they saw everyone go "Santino!" and will now have him win. They have to do that. Santino "the King" Marella Carlito can be his knight or whatever, he can brag to Maria she's not his Queen, he can have a match with Lawler...then he can get squashed by the King of Kings just like the last King of the Ring winner did.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 Because it is on Raw and not PPV, it does leave open the possibility of a winner that you wouldn't normally expect; you can use a bunch of different screwjobs and non-finishes to eliminate the top names, and not worry about pissing off any paying customers over a lack of clean finishes. I'd expect whoever wins to get a short term push and, unless it takes, be used as a stop-gap challenger to the champion of whichever brand he's on.
Diamonddust Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 With it being in South Carolina like Jim Ross mentions in his latest blog, it'd be nice to Shelton win it and add a new dimension to "The Gold Standard".
Matt Young Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Yeah, Shelton is one of the guys who could benefit most from it if they're really intent on pushing him as a singles star. Have his win lead to him introducing a new manager, or better yet, have several managers compete to work for the king. He can cut his own promos on house shows till he gets better, and the manager would help him greatly in his weakest area on TV.
cabbageboy Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 It's hard to really know what to think since the participants and bracket have yet to be announced. It's hard to imagine any scenario with Marella beating all these guys in one night, even with screwjobs and run ins. Besides he and Carlito are a tag team right now. While I have lost almost all interest in Kennedy he is probably the guy that makes the most sense winning. Then he can get hurt or screw up again and wreck his push.
