Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 I know they made a finals without him, but Cuban probably cost himself a championship or two by letting Steve Nash walk.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 Maybe, but it's hard to say, since Nash became MVP-calibre in part due to the Suns' system.

chaosrage 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 Maybe, but it's hard to say, since Nash became MVP-calibre in part due to the Suns' system. I think it had more to do with Nash working his ass off to better himself to prove Cuban wrong. I mean, they're not even doing the same system that they were in 2006 and he's still MVP-caliber. naiwf 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 D'Antoni is such an awful in game coach that it amuses me when commentators talk about how much he's brought to the Suns with his offensive system. I think it's against his religious beliefs to play more than 8 guys even when one of them is hurt and another is killing them on possession after possession. Hopefully he'll remain their coach until after their window shuts next year.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 Going to Diaw on the post was just dumb. But besides that, good game, Barbosa still stunk it up though. I expect good things in Phoenix. I wish they would have gave Grant the night off though. He is really struggling in second halfs and has led to the Spurs going on runs to start the 3rd quarter for two straight games. And yet Dallas made the Finals without him, and Phoenix hasn't with better peripheral players than Dallas. And all it took was 3 Phoenix starters being hurt for Dallas to beat them in six to get to the finals. Dallas is obviously the more dominant team.
Guest blame that goot. Report post Posted April 23, 2008 What's Phoenix's excuse this year when they get bounced in the first round? "Historically competitive Western Conference" enough to get the job done, or will they get creative?

USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 Why are people acting like Phoenix is definitely getting bounced? Like I pointed out for the Dallas/New Orleans thing, San Antonio won both games at home. It's been said many times, it's only a series when a team wins on the road. That said, I'm loving what San Antonio is doing so far. If the Lakers doesn't make the finals, I'd definitely want to see San Antonio there.
Guest Report post Posted April 23, 2008 I don't think they're definitely going to get bounced, but the trends so far aren't good. They're getting Karl Malone level production from Amare, and not winning. They have no bench, just like every other year. When one or both of their bigs gets in foul trouble, they have to resort to going small. I laugh at going small, especially when that leaves them with Diaw guarding Duncan. Free throw shooting sucks Dumb coach I think that's it. Oh yeah, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili are tearing them a new butthole. So much for that vaunted penetration defense Shaq was supposed to bring to the table. Drive and kick is killing them.
PUT THAT DICK IN MY MOUTH! 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 That said, I'm loving what San Antonio is doing so far. If the Lakers doesn't make the finals, I'd definitely want to see San Antonio there. Why? They were playing fucking hack-a-shaq with 1:30 to go in the third quarter when they had the lead! And I'm almost positive that had Shaq not somehow miraculously made like 90% of his FTs during that stretch they would have kept at it. When you add shit like that to their general whinyness/flopping/employment of Bruce Bowen you have basically the antithesis of a likable, entertaining basketball team. I'm honestly baffled at how anybody who doesn't live in San Antonio can not hate this team.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 And the best alternative to that would be the Phoenix Suns, who never whine, flop, or play dirty at all!
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 And the best alternative to that would be the Phoenix Suns, who never whine, flop, or play dirty at all! Exactly. I will point out that Tony Parker is probably one of my favorite guards in the league and Tim Duncan's talent cannot be denied. Those two offset whatever dirtiness Bowen does or flopping Ginobili does. I did say that I wanted them in the Finals IF Los Angeles didn't make it there, as in I'd prefer to see the Lakers there. alfdogg 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 Seriously though, the Spurs are not as bad about flopping as they used to be. The only guy off the top of my head that's bad about it is Oberto, and Robert Horry sometimes when he gets in the game. But for every one of those guys, there's a Raja Bell on the Suns, or Boris Diaw. Even Amare has had some really pathetic flops this year. And I would never defend Bruce Bowen's antics, but Raja Bell is basically a marginally more talented version of Bruce Bowen. For every notable Bowen incident, you have Raja Bell clotheslining Kobe Bryant, shoulderchecking Devean George in the spine, elbowing Ron Artest in the throat, or clotheslining Ginobili just tonight. Not to mention that half of the fouls Shaq commits would get your ass kicked on the playground. And the Suns are the absolute worst when it comes to showing up officials. You just have to watch the games to see this.

TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 Argh, the Raptors frustrated me last night. They were the better team and showed it for about 3/4 of that game but once again they came out insanely flat. If they're not down by over 10 for most of the first half, the Raptors win going away. Ah well, atleast the Magic's 3 point shooting came back to earth and Bosh finally broke out of his playoff funk. I'm still positive for game 3. Plus Kapono has been huge and, if he can keep this up, should be the guy attempting the game winning/tying shots.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 The Suns are the worst when it comes to officials!? Everytime Duncan misses a shot he's always looking around while bitching at the refs. Ginboili is worst than Bell at flopping. If you put an arm near him he'll throw himself like he was just speared. And Bowen is still a cheap fuck. I've always disliked the Lakers, but you can't deny their style of play right now which is way better than the bitch Spurs. Even Kurt Thomas starts stomping around after he gets called for a foul like he's never touched anyone. The Spurs are waaay unlikeable.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 i think they are evenly bitchy when they play each other. Mike Dantoni is doing a Ron Burgandy impression on the sidelines, stomping around like he just heard Veronica is going to be his coanchor, Pop is acting all gangsta and I swear the black dude with the glasses only job is to hold the clip board and hold Greg back saying "don't get'em greg...don't get'em." They ALL whine a ridiculous amount and it is fucking annoying. Michael Finley, Boris Diaw, Vaughn and Barbosa. thats the end of the list of the guys that don't act like bitches towards the refs when they play.

If Hill has to sit any of the remaining games, then he's got a 7 man rotation and Shaq won't be able to survive that kind of workload.

Well, Giri is giving them minutes off the bench and playing pretty well. I would look to start him at the 3 position honestly and just give Hill the night off until he gets better. Boris performs better in the starting lineup, too, so they can try that. Nash Bell Hill Amare Shaq Barbosa Giricik Diaw Skinner That should be it. He isn't using Skinner so he is at a 8 man rotation. that is more than he usually goes to.
