TheFranchise Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 So that's 38 wrestlers in total each, 17 competitors.. 646 wrestlers will be used in total. Do you think North America has a big enough pool?
TheFranchise Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Hey mellow, could I get in at 18? Or would that be too much? This draft is intriguing. Sorry. I would, except everything is already set in place. Next time, brother. No one's even made a pick yet, but ok. I think its more along the lines of if he lets one in, someone else might expect to be let in too.
Garth Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 I'm having real difficultly whittling down out of all the wrestlers who have ever competed who would be my top 30. It's intresting to actually sit down and think about who I would value on a roster the most.
PILLS! PILLS! PILLS! Posted May 22, 2008 Author Report Posted May 22, 2008 Is this limited to North American based wrestlers or is this open to international talent as well? In theory, you could potentially draft only lucha stars in order to create a stronger overall promotion. How many rounds do expect to do? 30 singles, 4 tag teams. This is gonna be big. You can draft whoever you want to, living or dead. And the promotion can be whatever you want it to be. It doesn't necessarily have to be the biggest grossing company or an ECW knockoff. Hell, once we have assembled our rosters, we can even pitch them if we want to. But, for now, let's just make some picks.
Maztinho Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Since it's All Time Wrestling Roster I was already looking to Japan, and Mexico for some of my picks.
TheFranchise Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Is TheOriginalOrangeGoblin online at the moment? He only has 19 minutes left before Drury picks. And he could take Hogan away from him!
PILLS! PILLS! PILLS! Posted May 22, 2008 Author Report Posted May 22, 2008 Is TheOriginalOrangeGoblin online at the moment? He only has 19 minutes left before Drury picks. And he could take Hogan away from him! Technically, he has until 6 A.M. Eastern US Time, but let's hope that it does not come down to that. I sent a PM letting him know that he can set it off any time now.
TheFranchise Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Oh, it's 12 hours? I thought it was one hour, for some reason. Well, since that's the case.. is it automatically 12 hours, or is it 12 hours after the last person makes his pick? Because it might really drag at 14 people picking a week.
Hawk 34 Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 What about gimmicks? If I choose Goldust (for example), does that take Dustin Rhodes off the board for everyone else?
TheFranchise Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Yeah, Mankind and Cactus Jack could easily come up here too.
PILLS! PILLS! PILLS! Posted May 22, 2008 Author Report Posted May 22, 2008 Well, since that's the case.. is it automatically 12 hours, or is it 12 hours after the last person makes his pick? A person has up to twelve hours before we move on without them (they can still make their pick, though). What about gimmicks? If I choose Goldust (for example), does that take Dustin Rhodes off the board for everyone else? A performer can only be used once. Goldust cancels out Dustin Rhodes, Keiji Mutoh cancels out The Great Muta, etc.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 I would think choosing a wrestler takes both them and their different incarnations out of the running. That would make the most sense.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 It's gotta be just one person no matter how many gimmicks they've portrayed. Some smartass would try selecting all the guys by their real names and the whole thing would fall apart.
TheFranchise Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Well, since that's the case.. is it automatically 12 hours, or is it 12 hours after the last person makes his pick? A person has up to twelve hours before we move on without them No.. What I mean is, if somebody is schedueled to pick at 2pm, and they pick at 2.05pm.. does the next person then HAVE to wait until the following 2am? Because, say that person doesn't wait and goes ahead and makes his pick at 5pm.. then the person AFTER him (if you're following me) might miss his 12 hours completely because he was expecting it to start at 2pm and not 5am. Yeah, that makes sense if you read it again.
Brett Favre Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 A person has 12 hours to make a pick, and after he makes his pick you go.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 If we did it in 12 hour breaks it would take something like...10 months? to finish this draft.
TheFranchise Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Meh, i'm not gonna drag this argument/wondering out.. just have to keep a regular eye on the thread , suppose if you check it once every 12 hours you're gaurenteed to get your pick. Disregard my worries.

What I mean is, if somebody is schedueled to pick at 2pm, and they pick at 2.05pm.. does the next person then HAVE to wait until the following 2am? No. Once they make their pick then the next person can go right ahead. If they take more than twelve hours, then we move on. Again, they can still make their pick while we are moving. 12 hours is just the maximum that we will wait on somebody.
Brett Favre Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Forget the 12 hours. The only reason you have 12 hours to make your pick is because no one is on at the same time. After one person makes a pick, you have 12 hours to make yours. After you make your pick, the next person has 12 hours to make theirs.

TheFranchise Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 I wonder who'll go for Chris Benoit. You just know somebody will.

Brett Favre Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Well damn you tease. You said it was too much of a hassle to let me in.
TheFranchise Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Oh just let him in! 18 is a better number than 17.
PILLS! PILLS! PILLS! Posted May 22, 2008 Author Report Posted May 22, 2008 Well damn you tease. You said it was too much of a hassle to let me in. I think that we have room for one more. If you don't mind being number 18. But that's it. Nobody else.
PILLS! PILLS! PILLS! Posted May 22, 2008 Author Report Posted May 22, 2008 Oh just let him in! It is done. http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?...=0#entry2686992
Hawk 34 Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Everyone should make sure to include a photo and a brief explanation of the selection.
Guest Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 So, if I take, say, the Steiner Brothers, I can't take Scott Steiner as a singles competitor. And the same, but in reverse. Correct? Also, I pinned the thread for the duration.
