TheFranchise Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Well, mw679 still has another four and a bit hours to go.
mw679 Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Ric Flair vs. Terry Funk/I Quit Match/Clash of the Champions IX: New York Knockout/November 15th, 1989 Alright, just got home from work, so I'll make this quick. Just a great brawl between these two, they chop the hell out of each other, take it inside and outside the ring, Flair works Funk's leg beautifully to set up the figure four in the middle of the ring to get Funk to say "I Quit". IMO, this is Flair's best brawl. Also, I had HBK vs. Razor in the ladder match at WMX for my next pick, and was surprised it lasted this long.
TheFranchise Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Maybe we should consider pinning this as well?
Jebus Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Were the forums down just for me? I've been trying to get in here since Monday morning! Edit: Apparantly yes. Luckily, I didn't miss my turn. Carry on!
TheFranchise Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 No mate, forum's have been fine as far as I know.
Canadian Brandon Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 My next pick is a personal favorite of mine. My 2nd favorite John Cena match(my Cena vs. Umaga match got picked already dammit). This one was a blood bath. John Cena vs. JBL. I Quit Match. WWE Championship. Judgment Day 2005. May 22, 2005
Gert T Posted June 3, 2008 Author Report Posted June 3, 2008 I am not really a fan of kicking someone out if they miss one pick. Two maybe, but one stuff could happen. Problems I know that surface could be if a pick is made late at night and then a person cannot get to a computer until 6 or 7 the next day. I think the first two rounds went pretty quick and then slowly trudged along.
TheFranchise Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Well, the way I see it, is if I know my pick has a chance of coming up in the next six hours or so and i'm about to go to bed or work, then PM yourself GT and tell them a pick or alternative pick in advance. There's enough people to know when you're going to be on really.
TheFranchise Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 King Cucaracha, you picked Angle/Mysterio from Summerslam 2002.. i'm going to take the most talked about match and Shawn Michaels first match in four years.. SummerSlam 2002 Shawn Michaels vs Triple H Street Fight
TheFranchise Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Sorry about the delay, I couldn't for the life of me find a photo of their match.
Gert T Posted June 3, 2008 Author Report Posted June 3, 2008 Its too bad, a pic of the chaps and jeans would have been bad ass!
TheFranchise Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Don't forget to update the main list GT (Y)
Jebus Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Stupid technology! Anyway, please update the draft board Gert T, I gotta know if I missed my turn due to my technical difficulties.
TheFranchise Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Mellow is next, yes. Gert isn't around tonight, he's at a ball game, i've got his pick ready if his turn comes around tonight.
King Cucaracha Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 It was a toss-up between HBK/HHH and Angle/Rey for me.
TheFranchise Posted June 4, 2008 Report Posted June 4, 2008 Okay, since Gert, through no fault of his own, isn't always around to update the main page, can you, and I hate to put these in huge letters, PLEASE PM THE PERSON AFTER YOU ONCE YOU'VE MADE YOUR PICK, AND TELL THEM THEY'RE UP. We can make this draft flow smoother this way. Made them huge not to shout, but so anybody who scrolls down the page can see it.
PILLS! PILLS! PILLS! Posted June 4, 2008 Report Posted June 4, 2008 And now, my fourth-round selection... Rob Van Dam vs. Hardcore Holly ECW on Sci Fi September 26, 2006 Tulsa, OK God damn I love this match. Everything about it. Hardcore Holly putting up an amazing effort in spite of the sickening laceration on his back is still one of my favorite things in the decent first four or five months of the ECW revival. Some of the best TV that WWE gave me that year.
Jebus Posted June 4, 2008 Report Posted June 4, 2008 With my next pick, I choose: "British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith vs. Owen Hart - WWF European Championship - February 26, 1997 (aired March 3, 1997 on Monday Night RAW) Just an incredible match to crown the first European Champion. They played off a lot of spots from the previous Bulldog/Bret and Owen/Bret classics.
TheFranchise Posted June 4, 2008 Report Posted June 4, 2008 This is a pick on behalf of Gert T. Chris Benoit v. Kevin Sullivan/Falls Count Anywhere/Great American Bash '96
Ravenbomb Posted June 4, 2008 Report Posted June 4, 2008 Chris Benoit vs. Raven Souled Out 1998 One of my two favorite matches by one of my favorite wrestlers ever (Raven, not Benoit).
Gert T Posted June 4, 2008 Author Report Posted June 4, 2008 The big board is updated, and I try to keep it as updated as possible. Thank you Franchise for making my pick.
TheFranchise Posted June 4, 2008 Report Posted June 4, 2008 No problem champ. If you ask nicely, 909 might keep an eye on this too.
foleyfanforever88 Posted June 4, 2008 Report Posted June 4, 2008 Since their Royal Rumble match was already chosen, I'm going to have to go with the Hell in a Cell rematch at No Way Out. I'm talking about Triple H vs. Mick Foley. This match holds a special place in my heart, because I was there to see it live and at the time, I really thought my favorite wrestler was gone forever. Triple H vs. Mick Foley - Hell in a Cell - No Way Out 2000
Guest Posted June 4, 2008 Report Posted June 4, 2008 I'll do my best to keep an eye on this, but I'm already watching and updating the wrestling draft, NFL draft, NBA draft, NHL draft...
TheFranchise Posted June 4, 2008 Report Posted June 4, 2008 Heh, I just meant in the case that Gert isn't around for a long while for some reason.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted June 4, 2008 Report Posted June 4, 2008 This is a pick on behalf of Gert T. Chris Benoit v. Kevin Sullivan/Falls Count Anywhere/Great American Bash '96 This is the one Benoit match I might have taken. It's got some historical intrigue as well as being a great match.
CanadianChris Posted June 4, 2008 Report Posted June 4, 2008 My next pick: Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin, Survivor Series, November 17, 1996 Although the rematch at WrestleMania XIII was certainly the more memorable of their encounters, this one is probably the better match.
CanadianChris Posted June 4, 2008 Report Posted June 4, 2008 Al has sent me his next two picks... Sgt. Slaughter vs. The Iron Sheik, Boot Camp match, June 16, 1984 WWF Championship match: Shawn Michaels [c] vs. Mankind, Mind Games, September 22, 1996
CanadianChris Posted June 4, 2008 Report Posted June 4, 2008 Well, the drive to work helped me decide between the two matches I'd narrowed it down to...I guess I need a Flair match in here somewhere, don't I? WCW World Heavyweight Championship match: Vader [c] vs. Ric Flair, title vs. career, Starrcade 93, December 27, 1993
