Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted July 6, 2008 I want to really like Agent's team, but being a true and blue Bears fan, it's a murderous defense (minus a secondary) with absolutely no offense. Not even a running game there, which makes having that killer defense pointless. I'm sure he's got something up his sleeve, though, I'm just not seeing the value in the team yet. Dude, you're on the pipe. Green was a 1st ballot HOF CB with an amazing 20 year career and Krause is the all-time leader in INTs. Christiansen is in the HOF. Bob Sanders is 5'8" of kill. Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted July 6, 2008 Yeah, that's not something I'm going to make a habit of, trust me. Call that one my homer pick. Plus he fits in there perfectly; fast, smart, tough, and hits like an artillery shell.

Jorge Gorgeous 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2008 Can I just say I think drafting current players that isn't even halfway through a career is a stupid practice? However Bob Sanders is a killer. I've got a guy three years into his career (Shawne Merriman.) I think he's got a three year body of work that is up there with the greatest. If he becomes a washout in a few years, it isn't going to take away the All-Pro selections... that's how I see it. My pick is forthcoming!
Jorge Gorgeous 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2008 WR Irving Fryar Receptions 851 Receiving Yards 12,785 Touchdowns 84 5x Pro Bowl selection (1985, 1993, 1994, 1996, 1997) 2x All-Pro selection (1985, 1994) I'm a little surprised he hasn't been taken (and maybe he has, though I did a search...) Durable player and a great guy who can haul in passes from Fouts.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2008 Emlen Tunnell, FS - 9x Pro Bowler - 8x All-Pro - 4x 1st Team All Pro - 2x "Super Bowl" Champion - All-50's Decade Team - 2nd All-Time in INT's/3rd All-Time in INT yards - First African-American player in NY Giants history - Member of the NFL Hall of Fame I'm amazed this guy is still around. I was going to take him last round but decided to wait and it was the right decision. One of the best defensive backs in NFL history, his numbers still stand up decades later while his defensive techniques helped define modern day safety play. In addition to his defensive prowess, he was one of the all-time great return men in history (twice leading the NFL in returns and yards). He'll be great opposite Ken Houston giving me a downright scary secondary. Pat Swilling, ROLB - 5x Pro Bowl - 6x All-Pro - 2x 1st Team All-Pro A member of the Saints famed 'Dome Patrol', Swilling was one of the most menacing linebackers of the early 90's. 6 times he amassed over 10 sacks and only 3 times in his 12 year career did he not get atleast 6 sacks. He will be a force opposite Jack Ham, often being used to pressure the quarterback while Ham focuses more on dropping back into coverage.

Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted July 7, 2008 I don't know how well I like that pick change there by Fokai. I think mine was a different circumstance considering I already had 3 linebackers, and the list I sent out was more of a contingency kinda deal so I didn't lose my spot. Judges? I vote nay. Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted July 7, 2008 OrangeGoblin's been notified via PM and won't get hit with a missed pick. Fokai is officially stuck with Keith Bullock Cornelius Bennett. Broward has also been notified via PM to pick someone other than Russ Grimm considering he tried picking the dude a few posts down after someone else did. I didn't pick any of these players either! And I wouldn't complain in any other circumstance knowing that you did have that contingency plan list, but you just drafted Russell Maryland knowing you had a 3-4 defense already. Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted July 7, 2008 Well, Russell was also on my contingency list. Tellyawhat. Since I did it, plus it's early and Keith Bulluck is a retarded ass pick in the first place (considering this stage of the draft), I'll be a sweetheart and change my mind just this one special time <3. Deal?
Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted July 7, 2008 I'm going to talk about my absentia picks a bit. Maryland is just meat on the line. 300 lbs of successful, strong, instinctive, block-eating meat. He played NT, too. This gives me a mean idea of a pass rush package with Maryland at 4 points in the middle with Taylor and Tombstone on one side and Atkins and Smith on the other. I'll take the Pepsi challenge with those five motherfuckers against any O-line you guys can come up with. Tombstone Jackson broke a helmet with an open hand strike. Nuff said. He scared Lyle Alzado. Tony Dorsett: I'll say this. I think there's better pure RBs still out there. However, Dorsett could block and catch with the best. I'm all about a well-rounded back, especially when I can't afford to hold out for specialists at this point. Broke 1000 yards and only started four games his rookie season. That's pretty impressive. A 3 down back.
Fökai 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2008 Deal. Thank you. I wouldn't draft Keith Bullock in an all-time Titans franchise draft, let alone ahead of picks in the same round of Nagurski, Mark May, Monk, Jason Taylor, Hutchinson, Zach Thomas and Dermontti Dawson. Damn. EDIT: And are we doing something after this draft in the vein of the NHL thread? I read something along the lines of - top 8 teams (as voted on by all teams) make it to the "playoffs", thereafter crowning a champion as determined by a round table of our resident NFL experts. TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2008 Argh, I did a search and Emlen didn't come up. Ok after another search, I think this guy is still on the board: Donnie Shell, S - 5x Pro Bowl - 5x All-Pro - 3x First Team All-Pro - 1980's Steelers MVP - 4x Super Bowl Champion Yet another member of the Steel Curtain for my defense, Shell anchored the secondary as the Steelers top safety for nearly 15 years. One of the best safeties ever when it comes to interceptions and coverage, Shell made quarterbacks wary of throwing to him and his punishing hits made him a threat to runners as well. With my defense being anchored by Green and Ham (both longtime teammates of Shell), Shell can excel in a system he is used to. This will mean either he or Houston will have to move to FS and it will probably be Shell.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2008 LILB Bill Romanowski The Glory - 2x Pro Bowl - 2x All Pro - 4 Super Bowl Rings The Stats - 1,116 tackles - 39.5 Sacks - 18 INT A steroid freak badass who ain't opposed to spitting on the opposition or breaking a teammate's neck in practice. Nasty as hell, hard hitter but also intelligent and a guy who will team with Rickey Jackson to make the left side of the field even more dangerous.
MFer 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2008 Kenny Easley 5x Pro Bowl selection (1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1987) 3x 1st Team All-Pro (1983, 1984, 1985) NFL 1980s All-Decade Team 1984 NFL Defensive Player of the Year Easley was taken ahead of Ronnie Lott in the 1981 draft and many people say he was just as good or even better than Lott. His career was cut short by an unfortunate kidney ailment (from taking too many painkillers) but he accomplished quite a bit during his short career. Bill Walsh: "He'd be a Hall of Fame player (had he played longer). Maybe he still is. He was that good." Charlie Joiner: "I can tell you this: He was so dominating on film that when you were on the field playing against him, you could be on the other side of the field and you could feel him," Hall of Fame receiver Charlie Joiner said. "You just had that feeling that he was around somewhere." "The guy was a force," Joiner said. "I just don't know very much more I can say about him." Ronnie Lott: "Kenny could do what Jack Tatum could do, but he also could do what Mike Haynes could do," Lott said. "He was not only a great hitter and great intimidator on the field, but he was a great athlete. "Kenny, Lawrence Taylor and those guys changed the game of football on the defensive side because they were not just big hitters. Now, all of sudden, you were seeing guys who were big hitters, but also as athletic as anyone on offense."
