Just John 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2008 Troy Vincent - CB 5x Pro Bowl 3x All Pro 47 career INT's 894 career tackles Batted down 28 passes in one season Another great all-around corner to round out my secondary. Plays the ball well and and makes tackles. He can obviously be trusted in one on one coverage along with Aeneas Williams and with Donnie Shell lurking around for help plus my pass rush, I like my pass defense quite a bit. Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted July 18, 2008 Ah, well, good to know then. Holy crap, it's my turn, I didn't even realize. Thanks for the PM, John! DT/DE Dave Butz Career Stats Sacks 35.5 Games 216 INT 2 Career Highlights and Awards * 2x Super Bowl champion (XVII, XXII) * 1x Pro Bowl selection (1983) * NFL 1980s All-Decade Team * 70 Greatest Redskins A mountain of a man at 6'7", 291 lbs., Butz anchors the middle of my line, and can possibly roll out to play DE as well. I'm still planning on possibly taking another defensive lineman to rotate in, but Butz is the big guy in the middle there. Fun trivia, too: Butz is a member of the board of the NRA, so he likes his huntin', and is related to Earl Butz, former US Secretary of Agriculture. Him and Favre would make good huntin/fishin' buddies on my team.
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2008 I was wondering why you didn't make your pick when you were on last night.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2008 Ok, back from vacation and only missed 2 picks. Wow. I'm really pissed I missed out on Wilber Marshall but it was a shock he held out as long as he did anyway. My picks: La'Roi Glover, RDT - 6x Pro Bowl - 4x All-Pro (1x 1st Team) - Named 'Man of the Year' several times in hs career on different teams - Currently 37th in sacks but climbing Another defensive stalwart who defined (and still defines consistency). Whereever he has played, he's been a defensive leader and is one of the best lockeroom influences in the league. On the field, he's a punishing a pass rusher who is equally adept at playing the run and will be a force playing alongside Mean Joe. To finish off my defensive line: William Fuller, DE - 4x Pro-Bowl - 4x All-Pro - 21st All-Time in sacks One of the all-time great pass rushers, Fuller was the cornerstone of the Oilers defense in the early 90's and remained dominant in Philly. In his prime he had over 8 sacks in 8 out of 9 consecutive seasons (he had 6.5 in the other) and anchored every defense he played on. With Dwight Freeny on the other end and Glover and Green in the middle, I would gladly take my defensive line to war against any offensive line possible. Guest Report post Posted July 19, 2008 We need to right this ship. I can't think of a better fullback to take for my team, the guy can run, catch, and block. Probably taking him too soon, but it seems like a good time for me. Mike Alstott. * 6x Pro Bowl selection (1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002) * 4x All-Pro selection (1996, 1997, 1998, 1999) * Super Bowl champion (XXXVII) * Buccaneers Touchdowns All-Time (71) * 3x Boilermakers MVP (1993-1995) * Consensus All-Big Ten (1995) CanadianChris' eight hours start from here, even though it should have been his turn. But we've got some absentees that fucked this thing up at the moment.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted July 19, 2008 Nah, I was thinking of going offense, and he was one of three guys I was thinking about with my last pick. Excellent choice. If anything, he may have been drafted too low.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2008 I was thinking about this guy four rounds ago, and I'm pleasantly surprised that he's still here: Carnell Lake, SS Career stats: Tackles 826 Interceptions 16 Sacks 25 Fumble recoveries 17 Touchdowns 5 Career Highlights and Awards: * 5x Pro Bowl selection (1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1999) * 4x All-Pro (1994, 1995, 1997, 1999) * NFL 1990s All-Decade Team

jwest27 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2008 So wait, is it my turn? I went through the last 2 pages trying to determine this, and I'm still a little confused. I think I might have missed a pick somehow. Screw it, I'm picking someone. CB Lemar Parrish 8 Pro Bowls 1 First Team All Pro (He has some second team selections, but it's kind of hard to nail down how many exactly. Whatever.) 47 Career Interceptions Pretty much a guy to help out my lone safety. A very good return man too, if I need that from him.
Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted July 20, 2008 Ok, looks like we're back on track aside from nogoodnick being MIA and Jorge still needing to make one pick. LET ROUND 16 CONTINUE!

Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2008 It has been eight hours so it is now my turn. My next pick was the consensus best centre in the NFL for over half a decade. What more could I ask for? C Kevin Mawae 6-time Pro Bowler & 2-time first-team All-Pro 177 Consecutive Starts
Gert T 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2008 With my next selection, my team is taking: Jake Scott/S 5 Time Pro Bowler 2 Time All Pro 49 Career Interceptions Member of one of the most hated teams (now) in NFL history. Also, I am moving Charles Haley from DE to LB. He played at OLB for 4 of his 9 years in the league, so I assume this is not an issue?
Fökai 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2008 This may just be a bit of a reach, but he's one of the last left tackles that's worth their salt. Lined up next to Wisniewski, Peyton Manning has nothing to worry about. Oh yeah, seeing this picture makes LT and RC ecstatic... Left Tackle, Chris Samuels. 6'5", 317 lb. 5 Pro Bowls (2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2007) All-Pro (2001) '99 NCAA Outland Trophy Winner

Gert T 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2008 I think Samuels is a reasonable pick, given how many OT's have been taken so far.
Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2008 To complete my D-Line... Ted Washington, DT 4x Pro Bowl selection (1997, 1998, 2000, 2001) Super Bowl champion (XXXVIII) And to help boost up my O-Line... Olin Kreutz, C 6x Pro Bowl selection (2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006) 5x All-Pro selection (2001, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007) Kahran later called Kevin Mawae the best C of this decade... I'd argue this guy is just as good, if not better.

Gert T 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2008 With my next pick, Gert's team selects: Kevin Carter/DE 2 Time Pro Bowler 2 Time All-Pro 100.5 Career Sacks With Haley moved to LB, I want a bigger DE that can get to the QB.
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2008 Part of one of the greatest linebacking corps ever, he was a great player in his own right even if he was overshadowed by the Goliath lining up to his right. Fökai 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2008 I'm passing my pick until tonight after I get home from work -- Samuels was the last pick on my list of players I coveted, so it's back to researching picks. I'm on a really crappy work computer that's not supporting the PM function well, so if someone wants to PM the next person (Bored, I think), I'll just come back with a pick later when I can. EDIT: Okay, no one came up in the meantime, so I'm going defense again...now aiming for someone for my secondary. I'm looking for a sure tackler, a goddamn hard hitter and someone who will stop every potential "big play" from happening. Unfortunately, as a Niners fan growing up, this guy was the last guy you wanted on that Cowboy defense to pursue the ball. Strong Safety, Darren Woodson. 6'1", 219 lbs. 1,350 career tackles (Cowboys franchise record) 5 Pro Bowls ('94, '95, '96, '97 and '98) 4 All-Pro selections ('94, '95, '96 and '98)

Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted July 22, 2008 If anyone else is interested, I claimed the second post in the thread for a numbered list of each selection. Listed like that, there's some amusing surprises. Devin Hester before Bronko Nagurski. 107 Players taken before Marvin Harrison. Curtis Martin before Gale Sayers and Marcus Allen. Dwight Freeney over Tombstone Jackson... There's dozens of debates and weird picks in there.
