Guest Incandenza Report post Posted June 24, 2002 Let's lay off the negativity for a moment, and relish in two things: 1) Undertaker went over, just like 98% of the regulars here wanted, and 2) Angle made Hogan tap, and tap cleanly!
Guest Shadow Report post Posted June 24, 2002 I don't know what is happening here, or care for that matter but this caught my eye. In Shadow's sig it says: HHH- You may not like him, but he's still better than Hogan! That is the single biggest crock of shit I have ever seen on this site, and I've seen the "Anglesault should be a mod" thread. Lets see HHH have his own fad. Lets see HHH have his own cartoon show. Lets see HHH have his own plush toy. Lets see HHH be worshiped by millions of people worldwide. Facts are facts. Hogan may not move much, but he still sells better than HHH. Both market-wise, and wrestling-wise. Hogan will always have more influence than HHH ever will in this damn business, no matter how many angles HHH writes for himself to make him look good. Stupid fucker. -Taft PS Eat shit and die. Actually, I meant in actual wrestling ability, dumbass.
Guest Anubis Puppet Report post Posted June 24, 2002 How quickly did Brock squash RVD, anyway?
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted June 24, 2002 How quickly did Brock squash RVD, anyway? I think it was about in 3 minutes. >_<
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted June 24, 2002 From what I gather, Brock did to RVD like Austin did to Jake Roberts at KotR '96. Whereas it was awesome when it happened to Roberts (it helped that Austin was FEELIN' IT~! when he was killing Jake), RVD deserved better.
Guest Anubis Puppet Report post Posted June 24, 2002 So not only did RVD lose the tournament, but he was also made to look like a total pussy. It looks like RVD's midcard spot is going to be occupied for quite awhile.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted June 24, 2002 RVD deserved better. ... Like to win.

Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted June 24, 2002 That was me! And I'm well aware of that, and the State has pretty much set up the demise of religion by fleecing the members of churches while signing treaties with their governing bodies allowing them to do so. When the people find out about this, BAM! Disillusionment and embrace of SCIENCE, BAYBEE~!
Guest TheDames7 Report post Posted June 24, 2002 Hey, just cuz I can do that.....I just finished putting up my review of the show on the site. You can click on my sig and get to it. Dames

Guest Hitman Jebus Report post Posted June 24, 2002 I think the right thing was done... RVD doesn't need the King Of The Ring title...he IS over! Lesnar needs it to continue his "monster" character Yes, I do think it's too much too soon for Brock, but if they're going ahead with the BIG push...go all the way GOOD STUFF FROM KOTR (imo): - Jericho v. RVD (all-around awesomeness) - The final 2 minutes of Test v. Lesnar (had the crowd in the bar I was in on the edge of their seats...even though we all knew Lesnar was winning...EXCELLENT Whitby Boot of Death by Test) - Angle v. Hogan (Dream Match come true for me...with a GREAT finish!) BTW, love the pic Dames...Triple H covered in the background...LOL!
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted June 24, 2002 I've actually heard Lesnar on a local talk show a few times. He can speak fine when he's on there, in fact he was pretty funny. It doesn't mean he wouldn't be terrible on the mic, but has the WWE even tried to let him speak. The ex-Gopher wrestler that is supposed to be awesome in the ring is Sheldon Benjamin. Jim Cornette and Dave Meltzer both praised him. He wrestled a dark match this week, and by all accounts he looked good.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted June 24, 2002 Yeah, it was pretty funny when he'd pop up in the opening video package and instead of some husky voice hear Heyman. I did hear him say his audinle word, as I stated earlier. "RAWR!"
Guest JaKyL25 Report post Posted June 24, 2002 Here are my match ratings: Van Dam vs. Jericho: *** (No way in HELL this was near ****. RVD looked blown up in the first 2 minutes or so, thus most of his offense and running looked rather shitty. Did pick up a bit towards the end though.) Lesnar vs. Test: ** (In contrast, I liked this one a bit more than most, I think due to Heyman's selling that Brock barely kicked out of Test's finishers.) Hurricane vs. Noble: **1/4 (1/4* for the neckbreaker alone. WWE Cruiser style sucks. By my count, they've only had 5 good cruiser matches since the division started in '97.) Flair vs. Guerrero: **3/4 (This match had the most psychology of the night, but it was flawed. Horrible ending. Flair is still watchable though.) Stratus vs. Holly: **3/4 (Best Women's match since Jazz left. Probably the most consistent match of the night, unless you count consistently bad.) Angle vs. Hogan: * (1/2* for the match, 1/2* for the ending alone. The only in-ring markout moment of the night. Tap, Hogan!) For what it's worth, Rock/Booker/Goldust was about a **** promo. Match of the night! Van Dam vs. Lesnar: 1/2* (The teasing of the Van Dam victory was almost a mark-out moment.) Undertaker vs. Helmsley: -** (SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW DAMMIT SOMEONE FAST FORWARD THIS SHIT. Would be worst match of the year EASY if it wasn't for Taker/Austin, and I STILL think this one wins that dubious distinction. I'd have to watch both again to make sure, but honestly, that's the scariest thought I've had in ages. Props to HHH for jobbing, but DAMN that match BLEW DEAD MONKEY COCK LEFT BY THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO DECOMPOSE FOR EIGHT DAYS.) Thumbs DOWN. RVD/Jericho was decent, but not worth seeking out. The rest is forgettable. I think there must be some curse that says KotR must always suck. When many consider the best match in the history of the PPV to involve Shane McMahon, then there's a problem somewhere (I personally would say Bret vs. Perfect is better, but still the Streetfight is #2. And we're all pretty much in agreement that HitC 2 sucked as a match by now, right?). Seriously, a "Best of KotR Matches" would consist of what? Great matches Bret vs. Perfect, 93 Owen vs. 1-2-3 Kid, 94 Angle vs. Shane, 01 Great matches with shitty endings, thus making them only Very Good Austin vs. HBK, 97 Austin vs. Benoit vs. Jericho, 01 And that's about it. Ouch. I won't be ordering that comp tape anytime soon. All I can say about this PPV is that RVD vs. Jericho maybe has surplanted Flair vs. Vince from the Rumble as my #10 Match of the Year thus-far. MAYBE. Oh, and this was still better than No Way Out. 2002 WWF/WWE PPVs: 1) Royal Rumble 2) Judgment Day 3) WrestleMania XVIII 4) Backlash 5) King of the Ring 6) No Way Out It's VERY close between JD and Mania. MotY thus far is still Angle vs. Edge from Backlash, though.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted June 24, 2002 Doesn't Lesnar usually just move his shoulder in circular motion alot?

Guest Mikey2Dope Report post Posted June 24, 2002 I still can't believe I shelled out $40 dollars for that pile of crap. UT - HHH(-***) easily qualifies for worst match of the year and the King of the Ring final of Lesnar - RVD(-*) was an absolute joke. I don't know what it's gonna take for Vinny Mac to get over this "big guys = ratings" BS but it's gotta happen soon. Brock Lesnar is not over AT ALL and has been in the federation for all of 3 months and is not ready for a main event push. I mean seriously Deacon Batista is just as big as Lesnar and doesn't have that dorky look to him. The WWF missed a golden oppurtunity to give what the fans seem to be dying for which is a RVD main event push. They have 3 major faces(HHH,Booker,Rock) and a crapload of heels as it is. I liked the Hurricane - Knoble(**3/4) match and the Jericho - RVD(***) match and the Rock-Booker-Golddust promo was AWESOME("I'm no good at this" - HILARIOUS) but all in all not a good use of my money. ***Geez I can't believe I left out the Hogan - Angle match. Hogan tapping to Angle cleanly was the moment of the night. Absolutely surprised the hell out of me.
Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted June 24, 2002 Wow! Hogan tapped to the Anklelock? I did not think it was possible for anyone to tap to that move. I will never forget the many times I saw Angle have the move on for like 15 minutes, and his opponent was just kind of laying there, chillin', not really affected by it, then, after they get bored, they just casually reverse it. It is good to see someone above Matt Hardy FINALLY tapped to the move.
Guest Prince Paul Report post Posted June 24, 2002 I like how the PPV was booked, except for Brocks win. I was very happy to see Taker retain and thought it was great that Hogan tapped instead of being pinned. That doesn't mean the PPV was great or anything. Guest The Son of Sting Report post Posted June 24, 2002 Flair - Eddy was ok . What was with the finish? Instead of Benoit-Austin we are going to get Benoit-Bubba. Did Storm and Christians promo leave a bad taste in your mouth? I thought it was little strong, maybe it was just me. Lawler's commentry during the womens pissed me of so much. The only woman in the company who looks half normal gets made fun of? I think Brock was maybe brought up to soon from OVW. RVD-Jericho was good, only around ***. Guest The Son of Sting Report post Posted June 24, 2002 why do they always have to do comedy spots in Angles matches?
Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted June 24, 2002 Eddy Guerrero goes from feuding with Ric Flair to Bubba Ray Dudley. WHAT THE HELL IS THAT? Also, why is Brock vs. Test given more time than Brock vs. RVD? The show ended at about 10:40... they still had 20 minutes left. 5 more for Brock/RVD, 5 more for Jericho/RVD, 5 more for Noble/Hurricane, and 5 more for the Flair/Guerrero... or something.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted June 24, 2002 Also, I about shit my pants when Hogan tapped clean. Taker vs. Rock vs. HHH next month. Taker will lose the belt to one or the other, and then Brock vs. Rock at SS? Or Brock vs. HHH? The WWE is going nowhere really fast.
Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted June 24, 2002 The show ended at about 10:40... they still had 20 minutes left. Don't they always end around fifteen to twenty minutes early? They did when I still ordered PPV. I also remember a hilarious promo where Helms kept calling him Jamie Kah-noble, but I digress. Hey, that was my old name for him...Thanks for that sexy reminder, Dames. Good review.
Guest MideonMark Report post Posted June 24, 2002 KOTR sucked for the most part, only good parts of the entire show were: -Goldust/Booker T/The Rock-Funniest moment in the WWE(F) since Kurt Angle/SCSA promos from last year -RVD vs Jericho-Id say about ***1/2, wasnt as good as I expected it to be -Top Rope Neckbreaker-Damn -Hogan taps! Hogan taps! -Paul Heyman on commentary-made me realise once again how much Lawler sucks. Heyman got the Title over more than either King or JR have done in the last 6 months. Line of the night- 'Hey King, let me ask you something, would you sell six of your nine ex-wifes for a shot at the Undisputed Title?'-Classic -Eddies promo
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 24, 2002 I think Brockberg should have squahsed Test instead of RVD. What the hell was the oint of making Suck look good and RVD look like a pussy?
Guest Chuck Woolery Report post Posted June 24, 2002 Okay, I'm an RVD fan... however, and I think this point was brought up before, having Lesnar win KotR, while not the decision everyone wanted, makes sense. Jericho is over enough as it is, and a KotR win would've done nothing but make us all groan that RVD was eliminated in the semifinals. Test winning... ugh. Van Dam winning would've gotten him into the main event, but Rob could do that anyway. All he would need is the right win to do it... sure, King of the Ring would do it too, but if Robbie were to go over, say, the Rock at Summerslam, that'd get him over just as well as the title of King of the Ring, too. Plus, RVD already has the Intercontinental title... he doesn't need King of the Ring 2002 to go along with his two IC title reigns. And finally... Lesnar beating Rob in three minutes I didn't like, but that made sense too, as it showed the Jericho attacking Van Dam after the match affected him enough to allow Brock to win easier than usual, which is also something they could use for a hotshot on Raw tonight. Think about it: Heyman interfered, Van Dam wasn't fully recovered from the Jericho attack... hey, it could happen. - Mike Van Siclen. Why didn't they put a European Title match on the card?
