The Amazing Race: Season 13

Recommended Posts

The Frats have to be the worst racers in the history of this show.

The worst Racers to make it this far, certainly. Usually the bad Racers don't make it past the first two legs.

At first I thought Dan was goofing around on the Detour. I mean, noone is that uncoordinated, right?

Also, $120 for two pairs of shoes is not unreasonable, but not when you're racing. You should be trying to find something cheaper, no?

Finally, I love the friendly rivalry between Toni/Dallas and the Sibs. Hopefully neither of these teams make the mistake and it's Dandrew that screw up.

I still have to say the Bowling Moms were worse. But it's close.

God no, the Bowling Moms were at least competent, aside from going to the wrong airport a couple of times. One of them just shreiked a lot.

The only people I could compare them to as far as bad racers who made it this far would be Wil and Tara. They take the cake, just for mixing inept with completely objectionable. I believe they're still the only people in the history of the race to lose their clue and have no idea where to go next.

Maybe the Goats from season 4, they were pretty spaced at times too.

No, Tara and Wil were a competent team - they tended to perform the tasks efficiently. It's just that Wil was the TAR blueprint for douchery. And aside from losing their clue, they didn't have a history of incompetence like Dandrew have had. Flo, of course, is probably the worst winner ever, but that's just one person, and I think you'll agree Zach carried that team and earned his 500k.

Probably most comparable to Dandrew are the Chos or Lyn/Carlyn. But at least the latter two were willing to be CTBs.

I agree that they weren't as bad as Dandrew, but I just remember things like the whole "Return to your partner" fiasco in Sydney (although he wasn't the only one), taking a cab instead of a bus, and Wil trying to open that ice globe in Alaska. Of course, they were so thoroughly unlikeable that I remember things like that about them and not other teams...come to think of it, Chip and Kim from season 5 were terrible for the first few legs, too.

His, and most of hers, too.

Welp, with Tony/Dallas gone now, there's no question that I have to root for Nick/Starr in the finals. There isn't even a second "meh, I'm ok with it, I guess" option if one of the other two teams win.

This. Although my dislike for Ken and Tina has abated somewhat.

And Dallas losing the passports IS the mistake that keeps one of the teams from joining everyone else at the finish line. If you freeze frame the previews for next week, Toni and Dallas are absent from the group to greet the winners at the finishing mat.

I'm trying to figure out how Dallas left the pack in the cab. He would have opened his pack to get his money to pay the cabbie, then put the pack down to gather up the rest of his bags? I'm just not sure how he could've made a blunder like that.

Nick has the right idea, wearing the pack around his neck.

I've been Nick/Star since day once so they're my team and even if Ken and Tina win it won't be horrible.

But if Dandrew pulls it out that would completely and utterly ruin the season for me. They define a team that has got to where they are but others faults.

I'm sorry, I just can't even remotely root for Ken/Tina. She's just such a giant bitch all the time, plus her face is just fucking SCARY. Her face is just completely made out of plastic by this point.

Should Nick and Starr lose it's arguably the biggest Finish Line upset in the history of the Race. Already they've won more legs than anyone else in the history of the show although in terms of overall rankings the Frat Boys (Eric and Jeremy) were still probably better - they finished lower than 2nd ONCE.

The way I see it, by making the run to the Finish Line, Dandrew are automatically one of the three worst teams in TAR history. Arguments can be made for all three teams here:

- Eric/Danielle (Finished first exactly once, when it counted)

- Lyn/Karlyn (basically the same as Dandrew in terms of poor racing, but bitchy instead of plain stupid)

- Dan/Andrew (you know)

So, yeah, Eric was arguably part of one of the best teams ever and one of the worst teams ever.

And yes, I'm rooting for Nick, Starr and Starr's two friends.

I can't count the amount of times me and my roommate said "DAAAAAMN" or something to that effect during the show. The fact that she has a super-cute face to back up those lovely tits is only a bonus. The opening credit shot of her in the sports bra and short shorts is a thing of beauty.

Article about Dallas and his little mishap.

Dallas and Toni Imbimbo, who were eliminated from The Amazing Race 13 on Sunday’s episode, missed the finale as a result. In other words, they won’t be standing near the final mat to cheer on the final three teams.

First, however, after flirting with her relentlessly on the race, Dallas is still dating Starr Spangler, although it’s a long-distance relationship as they live on opposite coasts. “We’ve been dating for a while now, about six months. We’re taking it one day at a time,” Dallas told Fancast.

As to his colossal screw-up in the final episode that essentially cost them the race, Dallas says his passport and money were lost because production needed to change his mic’s battery, and he had to change cabs; in the confusion, his stuff was lost.

“What happened was I had to do a microphone battery change. I was in the cab for about an hour. The driver didn’t know where he was going. I said, ‘I need a new taxi.’ So, as I was getting out to do the microphone change [the Amazing Race staff] undid my fanny pack with all my stuff in it because they had to get to the microphone. When I got out of the first taxi, it wasn’t attached to me anymore. I hopped into a new taxi, took that to where I needed to be and then went to pay. I didn’t have any money. That’s when I realized I’d left it in the previous taxi.”

Ultimately, though, he still left it behind. Dallas said that he actually was in three taxis, and that the editing misrepresented what happened. “They made it look like the taxi with my pack drove away and I just watched it and waved goodbye. That was far from the case,” Dallas said.

As he explained to Reality TV World, Dallas “got out and flagged down a new taxi, got a new taxi and went in there for about 20-30 minutes and finally had them take me to somewhere I knew. When I got there that’s when I realized I didn’t have the bag with me and my passport and my money was long gone. They made it look like [the cab] was right there and I could run after it but that’s not true. If it was anywhere near there I would’ve caught up to it, I don’t care if it was three miles down the road I woulda ran after it. But I had no chance of finding it,” he said.

Ultimately, Dallas says his “passport was turned in to the U.S. Embassy, so I was actually [able to] get home. I wasn’t able to make it for the finale, but we finally got back later, luckily not too much later than everybody else.”

Good to hear he got his passport back quickly. But it's gotta suck being the cameraman and production guy seeing the pack lying there and KNOWING that you can't say anything, even if it's partially your fault, because you can't break the fourth wall unless you yourself get injured.

How did the frat boys, even once they got to America manage to find a driver who could barely understand them?

I'm also wondering if the fact that Nick didn't actually grab the trapeze might cost them. edit- Guess not.

And frat boys on the episode all of 2 minutes.

It never said you must grab the trapeze, just that you had to grab the 1/2 clue.

And good job Nick/Starr, arguably 1 of the best teams ever to race, with 7 1st place finishes. And we even got 1 last boob shot of Starr as she was on the zipline ride.

I think they were a really good team on a really bad season. Ken/Tina were nothing special, but they would have dominated this competition without the Spanglers in it (they won three legs in a row before Nick/Starr took over). The simple fact that the frat guys ended up 3rd lets you know that there really weren't a lot of threats outside of those two tandems. Terence and Sarah are the only other team that I think could have been any kind of factor if they hadn't foolishly attempted to take that fast forward that did them in.

In the end, it doesn't really matter, because it's still a grind, even if this was one of the shorter Races in terms of time. You dominate like that, you get my respect.
