The Scream Awards and the Video Game Awards on spike tv are the only two award shows that I like.

 

My predictions who will win:

 

Game of the Year

 

GTA 4- the game was the highest money making videogame of all time and making more money than most movies have. It was also discussed heavily on the national news.

 

Best Shooter

 

Gears of War 2- I would've said Far Cry 2 because of the amazing graphics and gameplay but I feel that they will give this award to Gears of War 2 because of the story. I think Far Cry 2 should win though.

 

Best RPG

 

Fallout 3- the game seems better than the others.

 

Best Fighting Game

 

Mortal Combat vs DC Universe- What no Smackdown vs Raw 2009 nomination? This is the year of the superheros thats why that game will win.

 

Best Graphics

 

Metal Gear Solid 4- this game has been around since the first playstation so they have had all of those years to make the graphics better for this franchise.

 

Best Music Game

 

Rock Band 2- the game is heavily popular and advertised.

 

Best Driving Game

 

Midnight Club Los Angeles- the game seems like its one of the very few good racing games out there right now and it has a legacy.

 

Best Action Adventure Game

 

GTA 4- for the same reason it will when best game of the year.

 

Best Soundtrack

 

Rock Band- how could it not win?

 

Best Multiplayer Player Game

 

Gears of War 2 The first one was a hit multi-player game and so is this one. Gears of War 2 is more popular than Left 4 Dead.

 

Best PS3 Game

Left 4 Dead- Left 4 Dead will win one award and this is its only chance to win an award.

Yeah, seems a little lame that a lot of the games nominated aren't even released as of yet. Seems more like Spike giving the gaming industry a quick blowjob then actually congratulating good games.

I'm saddened by the fact I have to push this show at work.

 

I can only hope that after its airing, the following month's GamestopTV doesn't have Sam Jackson bellowing:

IIRC, although Madden won GOTY at the first Spike VGA's, didn't it LOSE in it's own category of "Best Sports Game"? Someone tell me how it can't win in it's own category, but can still win GOTY?
