iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2008 Yeah, can't believe I forgot to submit my picks today. I was so worried about trying to get things done to make sure I didn't miss the kickoff that I completely spaced out that it was the deadline to submit my picks. I don't suppose I can just get default credit for picking Georgia Tech since I'm Georgia Tech and all in the game, can I? I think that would be a good rule in the future. If you miss your team's Thursday night game, it counts like you picked them. Anyway, here are picks for Saturday: SATURDAY Indiana at Purdue Clemson at Virginia Arkansas at Mississippi State Michigan State at Penn State Boston College at Wake Forest Stanford at California Illinois at Northwestern BYU at Utah Oregon State at Arizona Iowa at Minnesota Pittsburgh at Cincinnati Florida State at Maryland Texas Tech at Oklahoma Tiebreak #1: How many total points will be scored in the Texas Tech/Oklahoma game? 72 Tiebreak #2: How many rushing yards will Oregon State's Jacquizz Rodgers have against Arizona?

Bored 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2008 It appears we are down to a three player race for the Bored Bowl. Vampiro69 is way back at #6 although unlike Hawk 34 and iggy he did qualify for his conference championship so I wouldn't completely dismiss him from contention but he needs a lot of help. Clearly the big result was Mecca being upset by Will Scarlet and that has allowed UZI Suicide to grab the #2 spot. The margin is close enough between those two though where I wouldn't say UZI controls his own destiny but obviously he's in good shape. AboveAverage484 on the other hand does control his own destiny as win and he is into the Bored Bowl. The conference championship match-ups and the bowl picture will be in the next post. Bored Championship Series Rankings thru Week 13 1. N.C. State - AboveAverage484 1.6 2. Arizona - UZI Suicide 2.35 3. Nebraska - Mecca 2.6 4. Miami of Ohio - Hawk 34 4.0 5. Georgia Tech - iggymcfly 4.3 6. Ball State - Vampiro69 4.7 7. Alabama - AlwaysPissedOff 8.55 8. LSU - teke184 8.95 9. Virginia - Edwin MacPhisto 9.0 10. Tennessee - Canadian Brandon 9.65 Other Receiving Votes: Minnesota (Vern Gagne), Ohio State (Gert T), South Carolina (Cuban Linx), Syracuse (CanadianChris)
Bored 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2008 The conference championship amazingly were headache free to figure out. We had two ties, first in the Big Eight with a three-way tie. Vern Gagne was the odd man out as he lost to both CanadianChris and Porter head-to-head. The other tie was in the Pac-8 where KingPK wins out over Cartman by winning their head-to-head match-up back in Week 4. Conference Championships Big Eight: Syracuse vs. San Diego State Big MAC: Nebraska vs. Ball State Pac-8: Arizona vs. Notre Dame Southeastern Seven: Kentucky vs. Florida Western Atlantic: N.C. State vs. Boston College Now we have an interesting situation as both Porter and Urban Warfare qualify for their conference championships but have not become bowl eligible as of yet. That leads us into the bowl picture. We have now 20 eligible teams so yes I will be adding a 10th bowl game, but again not an 11th because I'm a dick and it's going to create some extra drama over the next two weeks. There are 16 teams that have locked up a bowl bid out of the 20 eligible teams. This includes still fly who only has seven wins but is a lock because there are only three eligible teams in the Pac-8 and every conference is designated three bids. So there are four of you who's bowl hopes will ride on what happens to Porter and Urban over the next two weeks. Win and they get an automatic bowl bid, thus knocking one or two of you out. HarleyQuinn is one of the four eligible players who is not a lock but obviously he has control over his own destiny by having an opportunity to win his conference championship. On the other hand, Agent of Oblivion, Cuban Linx, and Agent Bond34 do not. FEEL THE DRAMA! I will be posting a poll in the conference championship thread for the name of the 10th bowl game. Anyone is free to PM me a suggestion for a bowl name. Locked up Bids Arizona Arizona State Ball State Georgia Tech Kentucky LSU Miami of Ohio Minnesota N.C.
